I rented a Corolla SE sedan a couple of weeks ago. I'm not a big guy (5'8") and I was shocked at how difficult it was to get inside one of these. I was constantly knocking my head against the roof. and I drive a Focus. Once inside, it was a completely bland experience. These cars really are appliances. The controls weren't as idiot proof as I would have liked, either. It took me two days to figure out the automatic cruise control as the set button is not labeled. I fought with lane centering the entire weekend because I couldn't find the button to turn it off. I tend to hang on the outside of the lane to avoid idiots who can't seem to pick one. The Corolla hybrid was near the top of my shopping list but now I'm not so sure. I would recommend renting one before purchase.
My old Ford Probe V6 had about the same horsepower with 25 miles per gallon. Good to see new technology increasing fuel mileage around the same horsepower.
That nightshade is sexy. But after driving *_low profile tires_* for the past 8 years, I think I’m done. If they are slightly below PSI they blow easily over a pothole cuz they’re so thin.
Toyota had a great small car. They may have ruined it with the CVT (Crappy Vacuous Transmission.) If you buy one of these, follow the maintenance on that transmission.
Its not a nissan. The jatco transmissions were the ones that gave cvts a bad name. These ones are toyota and they have a planetary 1st gear so its less strained
Cheap plasticky interior, CVT, dealer markups, forced port installed and dealer installed accessories, torsion beam rear suspension on the gasoline Corolla LE sedan etc. No thanks Toyota. I’d much rather pay around the same price and buy a far superior Mazda 3 or Honda Civic
The Honda 1.5L engines have a design flaw in the block that causes head gasket blowouts. Also consider the oil dilution issues on the Honda engines as well. Their reliability has taken a hit lately.
@@bextar6365 why? Oh god where do I begin?😂 The corolla isn’t very attractive vs other rivals The interior is the worst in class. The interior build quality and materials remind of a cheaper GM product The interior space is also the worst in class. The tech and features are ancient The powertrains are lackluster. It’s the slowest in the class and it can get very expensive. The price of a corolla XSE can get you a civic touring w the 1.5T The handling and driving experience are the worst in class. The GR corolla has been having overheating issues from the AWD system. The interior is still subpar. And it’s overpriced. And it’s not as fast as a golf R. Not as refined as the CTR or golf R
I have a 2017 XSE. Couldn't be happier. Some people seek luxury and status. I seek a reliable car because I'm an average person lol
I have SE 2020 average 40 mpg. Its 145371 miles now. Never fails. Very reliable. Less maintenance practical.
Did you replace the engine coolant bypass valve? No issues at all?
Oh yes I did.
Picking up my '24 Hatchback XSE tomorrow in Blue Crush Metallic. 9 month wait here in Canada. Can't wait!

Loving these which to buy episodes.
Most definitely the xse i would choose without a doubt.
Do ant Toyota se or hybrid come in blue color?
Wish Corolla hatchback had a trim that add all the feature of a Camry xse
I love that night shade
Appreciate this!
Does any Corolla have remote start on the key fob ?
So you can get heated seats in ANY of the hybrid models. There is no XSE hybrid. Only options are XSE sedan and XSE hatchback. WTF.

I took the low profiles off and put 16 inch steelies on with Michelin crossclimate2’s lol
Nightshade Sedan or Hatchback or GR Corolla 🔥

asterisk or not, GR or no car 😅 tbh ive been trying to talk a friend into an xse hatch stick, looks so much sleeker than a 10th gen civic sport.
The SE literally has NO powertrain upgrade at all.
When did corollas get so expensive is my question.
You had me quit the video at: CVT
whys that

Ignorant
superior Mazda 3 or Honda Civic
No manual no deal
Sorry I stopped viewing when I found out that no manual transmission offered.
Shouldn't you be looking at more exciting cars then anyway?
Looking to replace my 20 year old VW Golf , which has been an excellent car. Plus my wife does not want a automatic transmission.@@matu1181
2 % of American cars have a manual- so get over this phony alpha male fetish already
What cars are left in manual
@@matu1181. Any car is exciting with a manual… otherwise you’re doing it wrong

Short answer is none of them 😂
Why ???
