- A great result from the beach, my first legal sized Mulloway in over a quarter of a century ( 29/4/96 to be precise)...and at the same beach too! To say I am stoked would be a massive understatement!

Well done Andy. You've beaten me to it and caught one this season, and a sea Mulloway at that. Looking forward to hearing how it cooked up. remembers back in the day fishing at the old swan brewery for mulloway we always used live trumpeter as bait, probably why you nailed a mulloways as there was trumpies there
That thought did cross my mind, maybe a trumpeter fillet would be a good idea for next time.

@@paddlefisher One more thing why trumpies work well is they grunt so as a live bait just tug on them and they reaptedly grunt as fish have ears

Question, why not use those Trumpeters as fresh strip bait. Or chuck a livey out on a 6.0 hook. Sipposed to be like Mullaway candy. Nice little Silver Ghost to take home, still to catch my first.
I would have used them for bait but I had a pile of squid heads so I stuck to them. Ideally a live whiting would be the go. Cheers mate.
