Great Review! I’ve always been curious about this product and this told me everything I need to know. A very compelling option compared to a typical bass shaker kit for the price.
Hey man seriously thanks! It's an awesome solution for those who are really trying to dive deep FAST into that little extra layer of immersion with an easy plug and play experience :) this combined with shakers is amazing!
I use it in VR and it is great. It's not something that will make you faster, but it really adds to the immersion. BTW, you can setup the Simagic Haptic reactors as "Devices" now in Simhub instead of shake motors. Gives you a lot more control.
@@KiliansCreative Would love to see a video of your simagic haptic settings now that you’ve played with the settings in the “device” tab. Your HF8 settings were really helpful!
Thanks for the video,I've been using this for a couple of years now and find it a great especially for emersion,I recently got the simagic haptic reactors and changed a the effects profile for them so I've lost a lot in the seat but I did wonder if u can set them up separately as you have shown here , Thanks
I had looked at this when it was $400 and passed. I have a single Butt Kicker Pro under my seat and two Simagic haptics on the gas and brake (which are ok; I need to figure out what to do profile wise to clean them up as maybe there is too much going to them.) I was planning to get four regular Butt Kickers for the corners as I love the look of them, but might hold off and snag this first. I’ll have to see if Microcenter will be at $180 or will match it.
Outstanding video! I own this pad but have never seemed to get my settings right until now so ty. A couple things still baffle me. I still can't seem to get any single effect as strong as when I test the same effect (even at 100% setting). Lastly, in the motors output/output tuning tabs, what would you advise the threshold and minimum force % to be set at?
Different systems... Slip angle haptic corner kit also has limitations as well just because of the distance. 4 corners would be best with the Dayton Audio 300 EX's
@@KiliansCreative Guy that builds racing sims actually explained how two haptics on right and left side is actually better then 4 corners haptics because 4 makes it to confusing where haptics are coming from. Recommends just stick with 2 big ones on left and right side of rig.
Yes, it is comfortable to sit on. One thing to note is that the padding will add about an inch to an inch and a half of thickness to your existing seat, I counteracted this by increasing the angle of my bucket seat, and then sliding it back 1 inch.
It's not the most comfortable, the biggest complaint I have of mine is how hot it is to sit on. It has made my rig more uncomfortable but not enough to make me remove it. I just have a bamboo temperature regulating blanket over it.
Beware that NLR does not provide support once the HF8 is out of warranty. After 15 months my HF8 suddenly malfunctioned with all eight motors coming on at full vibrate anytime power is applied to the pad. NLR support admitted it was a hardware issue (other customers have the same problem), but it was out of warranty and they offer no repair options. Very sad, since the controller circuit board is easy to replace. NLR expects you to throw away $200 of sim hardware after 12 months!
I can understand both sides of the story. They have a manufacturer limited one year warranty. Anything outside of that one year warranty they can essentially wash their hands. I’m not exactly trying to defend them, but that literally goes with every single company.
@@KiliansCreative Legally yes, but there are some other points to consider. There is a weakness in the circuit board design that has existed since the Realteus Forcefeel (the original design that NLR acquired for the HF8) resulting in others with similar problems. The circuit board itself is easy to change (four screws and three electrical connectors) and takes less than 10 minutes to change. In over 40 years of sim playing, Thrustmaster, Virpil, MFG, HP, Logitech, Razor, have all had repair options beyond warranty. I have no problem paying for parts/service outside of warranty, but to leave you no option is poor customer service.

Yeah I’ve heard great things about the Reactor setup and that’s a huge upgrade, thank you for sharing!
I've had mine for about two weeks and it's hilarious. I love it.
Oh man, haptics are so much fun lol

You are welcome, my friend, glad I was able to explain and demonstrate that for you, and you’re able to separate those channels even better

I think this is a fantastic option! I'd look into that, I think you'd be happy with it!
Mate.. the rumble affects on the Asseto corsa doesnt work :( Theres any way to make it work?
They should be working now via Simhub 🎉

Yeah, I think you're on the right track with the threshold and force %! I usually keep mine around 80-100%
I’ve been seriously considering the slip angle haptic corner kit. I wonder how this compares.

@ Interesting, they will not supply any parts for repair purposes?
