Lee, if you want spacey, Just use the wish liquid in a bowl, get a straw and blow bubbles into it. Get a BIG bubble and then shoot it with that 60mm Macro. I have tagged you on an Instagram post today with an example.

Great vlog Lee! Here's a thought for 'Space like' images, just add the oil a drop at a time through the needle from the syringe. That way you may possibly get a few large 'Planets' in the shot and fewer small bubbles, just a thought. If I can get a syringe and needle I may give it a go myself and see. All the best for 2024.👍👍👍

Welcome back my friend - So good to see the wizard, doing his magic once again. I am a Luminar Neo user, been using it since the start. The supersharp function is awesome and also using layers is brilliant - you could add some space ships, to your image and the blend them in using the layers.

Nice to see you again. If you have a black sheet of paper with that same style of print should work better. Also crush your blacks and shadows in posts ( try ) just to give it that deep space look.
Very very nice idea I really did not even think off using black paper. It really would give it more of a space feeling. I will definitely be giving that a go later today trust me.

I help a photographer here in the states that has done this for years with his Macro Phote Conference and I think it really draws people. They love the hands on experience of practicing what they just learned.

I will be doing a lot more club talks and one to one's this year as it has truly made my year to see the people's faces

Awwwww hod bless you Nina, it really was hard for me last year as you know. That’s why I have taken a year out to concentrate more on my own photography as I was getting pulled away more and more with uni work and felt that I was losing my self

Happy 2024 Lee! So nice to see you back again. I love these images. The one at 19:37 was my favourite. Since there is a lot of black in space perhaps some selective colour editing, or in this case, selective non-colour editing to introduce some areas of pure black. Regardless your images and teaching style are spot on. Best wishes my friend and I am looking forward to many more videos in the future.

I need to get the background a lot darker I tried to add more shadows to try and darken the picture but that just failed. And my usual vinyet also did not work lol. What I am going to try is to pull the light away more or just move the lights up so they don't shine on the paper as much.
We will sort it. There is always a way.

I've recently discovered your channel and am looking forward to trying out a few of your tutorials.
I've done MANY many oil and water shots and they are so cool. Have you tried mineral oil yet? I personally liked it the best. I found that it gave my outside ring a little indent and made the bubbles look more "3d ish".
I am glad you were able to make the dish soap work, for me, it didn't work. I only use straight up oil and water.
I wish there was a way to share with you a couple shots I did with just straight up oil and water (mineral oil)

Saw somebody drop, similar to a cotton reel with a long pointed end in to water and it made a real good splash shape. Perhaps you can try different shapes dropped into water and do a video

Think it was on the shorts and not someone I subscribe to. If you had a pointed end at the bottom with a hole drilled through the centre, would this give you a shape on the outer edge with a column of water in the middle. Any shape could easily be cut on a wood lathe.@@LeeHallphotography

What lens did you use on your Sony well come back
Hi my friend the camerai was using was an Olympus om-1 m3. I have had it for around 2 years but not used it much to be fair the lens is the Olympus 60mm it’s a fantastic little lens
I like the photos I personally would add a little bit more color and less of the "lens flairs"
I can see what you are on about and I think you are right. I am in the middle of doing some more so I will try to leave the lens flair out.
I think that they could possibly be over powering the overall picture

Lovely to see you back Lee. I will have a go at this. Your first light is shone onto the paper but is your second one fired level to the top of the water? Also when you broadcast are you always sitting in a darkened room?
Hello my friend thank you for reaching out and asking such good questions. The second light is facing down as well I really should have said that on the video.
But what I have also been doing is moving the second light back away from the tank to give me more shadows in my pictures. I really could have got away with using just one light to be fair.
The room has my video lighting in, and I try to keep it as light as possible but for some reason it always looks dark. I think I just need new lights.
