    Thanks for the good and informative video! I'm thinking about to buy the Rodecaster. In your setup Skype recognized the Rodecaster as audio source (mic). Is this only working in combination with the Atem Mini pro or would it also work somehow without the Atem?

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  2 роки тому

      This is the only way that I've done it and the results have been excellent and reliable. Link in this video's description, if you decide to buy one. Thanks in advance!

      @@IrixGuy Thanks. I will consider your link when I buy it. One more last question : As I see you use for the audio connection from the Rodecaster to the Atem a cable from the Monitor output somehow with XLR adapter to the mic line in of the Atem. I guess it would also work with an Y-cable 2x 6,3mm to 1x 3.5mm (TRS?), right? And is the incoming signal in the Atem mono or stereo?

    Here is the challenge I’m facing:
    I’ve connected my wireless microphone
    ( Saramonic) to my Sony A7 III, then I connect my Sony camera to ATEM mini Pro, then I connect my Rodecaster through Mic 1 to ATEM mini pro for music, then I connect my ATEM to my Mac Pro. From Mac Pro I connect to a big monitor to see the people on zoom, from HDMI monitor output I connect to mini monitor, then I connect my headphones to mini monitor for feedback an monitoring.the problem is that in my headphone I hear myself and the music but not the participants on zoom.
    In zoom setting I chose black magic as camera and mic. What am I doing wrong.
    Btw, on ATEM I put mic1 to on and even camera mic to on mode in cam 1
    Really appreciate if you can solve this mystery.
    Love & light.

    Just wondering about the skype audio, I assume you're using the USB channel on the Rodecaster Pro and have a mix minus set up on that channel? Also, could you use a HDMI splitter and split your camera HDMI signal to a spare USB port on your MacBook Pro via a HDMI to USB camlink and use that for your guests to see the video of you?

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  3 роки тому

      Yup, I use mix minus and I don’t think that you could split the HDMI channel.

    Hi, I have other question.
    Do you use your DSLR as Webcam? Correct?
    I have a situation here that I would like you to help me.
    I use my canon 90D as a webcam. I connect it to the Atem Mini switcher.
    I configure the camera to have a clean output and disable automatic shutdown. What is certain is that after 30 minutes the camera turns off.
    I am not recording with the camera. I'm just spreading an image.
    I don't understand why. You can help?
    I know that a lot of people use their DSLR as a webcam, including Canon 90D Cameras.
    Thank you.

    The problem I have is that when Ethernet connector is used my skype doesn't see video and audio and I can not chose it in Skype menu.
    But I'm using atem mini pro iso now.
    when I decide to use USB connection instead of Ethernet , everything works fine.
    can you comment on it please?

    when connected using Ethernet :
    In skype menu when I go to audio and video I have:
    - speakers ( and I can see BM HDMI NVIDIA selected- and that is good)
    - microphone ( that doesn't give me BM choice any longer)
    -Video ( that doesn't give me BM choice any longer) and it says:

    ATEM software control ( works fine)

      Keep in mind that in this scenario UA-cam viewers are seeing my camera via ATEM and Skype viewers because I’m sharing that screen via ATEM (i.e. my Skype viewers don’t see my camera via Skype but my UA-cam audience sees both their camera and my camera). Does that make sense? Sorry, I know that this setup is confusing when ethernet for the live stream is being used.

      I use ATEM Mini Pro’s network connection to stream to UA-cam. It’s important to have the two monitor outputs (audio) running to the MIC1 or MIc2 on ATEM with “line mode” enabled/MIC1 also enabled within ATEM. Don’t forget to connect the Rodecaster Pro to the computer with USB cable and select RodeCaster Pro as speaker and mic within Skype, etc. thanks

      Have you tried running a 3.5mm audio cable between you laptop’s audio out and MIC1 or MIC2 on ATEM to see if that picks up computer audio! Another option could be to set your computer to send audio over HDMI. In theory, you could select “Audio on” for that HDMI port and hear computer audio. Every configuration is different. I had to fiddle with mine a bit to get the desired result of Rodecaster Pro audio plus Skype guests during a live stream on UA-cam.
