My dad worked in a facility much like this as an electrician. The nurse call system experienced a failure at some point. From what I remember, he took a test meter and started ohming out every circuit. A few days passed, no fix. Managment was then upset with him and called out a specialist. He showed that person what he was doing just for everybody to find out that was correct procedure for finding the fault. I'm sure Dad might have had input on you all's situations for this building, but he passed with heart issues in 2020.
Something I know from working in a nursing home, is that the call button breaks a closed circuit instead of closing an open circuit like you would expect. This is so, if someone falls and yanks the call button out of the wall, it will automatically activate the nurse call. This is also why they use the old thiic mono TRS connectors, so getting yanked out won't damage the receptacle. They make dummy plugs to allow unused sockets to not call the nurse without a whole button in place. I also recently found out the call buttons are also used in other random places like as the trigger for manually changing traffic lights. The exact same button on a wire with a TRS, just being sold for a different price for a different reason.
@@internretcreaturethey did but left some high load 3 phase breakers off such as the chillers, boilers, pumps, and fans bc they didn’t have water to them and they would really pull energy
Dude i gotta give you credit. I wouldnt have the balls to turn those breakers on myself in fear id set the place on fire or something lol id be waiting for an electriction LOL
Huh I iddnt think of that id have before it was shifted to my bill basically turn stuff on to seevwhat works and explore before turning the mains off and then the non main breakers also since some old panels have had notorious fails etc.. or been discovered through the decades from the 1930s era circuit breakers through the 1990s to be in off postion but still supplied power.. brands of risk include Bulldog electric, pushmatic, Challenger, Zinsco, Westinghouse, Bryant, Stablok/Stabloc, Federal pacific/fpe panels or federal pacific electric, and many more but thesecare in no particular order of risk but merely from memory for funsies doing research in the past etc.. of brands now mostly not existant due to over time being found guilty of either ul listed certification for safety fraudulencecor outvof bussiness regarding electrician electruction or fire hazard lawsuits etc.. or become pjased out.
Oh also WADSWORTH panels...I also remembered that is one of those brands.. do note that not all are equally bad however for various reasons are why each are potentially if not likely hazardous.. however some brands due to mere age have a likely hard time being insured or else are uninsurable.. basically like circuit breakers befire the 70s or 80s especially the ones that are grease fed which need to quite excercised to prevent themfrom becoming STUCK thus unABLE to trip should a successful otherwise trip event such as short circuit/overload occur..
Well, that was an abrupt ending. You just left us high and dry, with fleas crawling all over our ankles and feet. Now I feel like I need to go and de-louse.
You've done what I was trying to do with Harrisburg State hospital unfortunately they would not sell to a private ownership they are going to demolish it to build forensic labs for the State Police in Pennsylvania
Is this video out of order from your other one? An earlier video shows you lighting up the hood lights and such. So I assume this is before that video.
Go get some decent head lamps.. Yes you will look like a dork but they are infinitely useful in a situation like this. Everywhere you look will be illuminated and you will have you hands free.
Chances are there are rodents with that amount of fleas. It could be other animals that come inside (raccoons, stray cats etc.) but I would bet it's probably rodents

That's the calmest: "Oh f*ck! - let's leave" to "Oh, hmm, let's fix the issue with the nurse call system" etc. 😂
yall have more self control than me, I would have turned on every single breaker in the building just to see what would happen lmao
i think they did that already in another video
@@internretcreatureoh noiice :D
As long as your willing to help pay the electric bill for them. I hope you have very deep pockets.

I was just thinking that same thing

That
Large open panel at 355 is actually for B. A. S building automated systems usually for HVAC equipment.

I really enjoy this kind of content! Great way to keep the building alive!
More "alive" in that old building they are sure to find

Lol
interesting! alot of breakers to explore. thanks for posting. 😀👍
Damn. I don't think I've ever been this early to a video...

Welcome to the early club, want some drinks or food?
Have been into urban exploring for most my life so this is a weird combination of things and I love it. Thanks for sharing.
What the actual frick was that voice in the radio as soon as he pressed on the nurse call system 😮
It would be really cool to see the nurse call system, and how it works.
Plug n play led bulbs are more reliable as the quality ballast is doing the heavy lifting btw
i saw a troffer with jammed starters, probably not very healthy for the ballasts!
@@georgewills-ek1gg That's why it is best to replace the starters when replacing a bulb. Plug n play LED's require you to remove the starter though.
Scary, yet very intresting
Is there a generator room
That fucking noise is so creepy... Fuck no... That clouds thoughts right there in the worst way
Nurse call systems “fail safe” so if you pull out the call button from the wall jack it will alarm.
How is bro not scared dude at 3am a alarm in a unknown building I am leaving and never coming back
time to get some rechargeable filming lights...
hire an electrician to walk thru it with you
Hey, it seem that a lot of the breakers are correctly labeled, this is neat !
You've done what I was trying to do with Harrisburg State hospital unfortunately they would not sell to a private ownership they are going to demolish it to build forensic labs for the State Police in Pennsylvania
can you make a video testing the generator
You gotta get arc flash ppe for flipping breakers in an old place.
I'd just send it and turn on absolutely everything except the boilers and the heat pumps.
Out of curiosity and adhd noseyness of mine., What you guys plan on doing with the place?
Does the water still work
It's nice to see the asylum being taken over by former patients.
😂😅
Fleas...😧
Correct me if I'm wrong aren't fleas drawn to the electric or is that only cockroaches
Roaches
What is the story of this place?
Is this video out of order from your other one? An earlier video shows you lighting up the hood lights and such. So I assume this is before that video.
Has he been updating without telling us what he is doing?
What time in the video did it go off
From 7:40 onwards.
@ thanks
42 minutes ago!?!?!?!?!?

Face it guys, the place is haunted!
At 5:28 you said "cool" and the cameraman never showed us 😔

Wait! I live in Ohio! Is there any chance we're in the same area?
have you figured out what your doing with the building yet?
He put a video up the other day about this
@@TheReduxGB i know thats why i asked
Why you not responsible for the electric for another day
It was getting transferred to us from the previous company.
Nice have you tested everything you can
How are there fleas in there? There's nothing for them to feed on. I'd be afraid of bombing that room full of switches, contacts and breakers.
