Katie, thanks for sharing your struggles. I was wondering why you were not in Europe for worlds. So glad you listened to your heart and mind and honored your emotions. I wish nothing but the best for you both mentally, spiritually and physically. I am in your corner girl!

Speaks volumes of Cannondale and Kaitie to stick together for 10 seasons! Really great to see such an honest look at a racer's season too.

What a video! Jaw droppingly honest and open - can’t believe many elite athletes would share so much. Always loved Kaitie for her grit and putting being an athlete front and centre. Hope things keep picking up and you’re back in CX next season - as long as it’s what you want.

Why dislike this Vid. So many people deal with these issues but don't face it. Good for her. Rock that Bike Girl!!!!!!

Katie. This moved me to tears. I know I am a stranger to you, but you are doing great things and reaching great heights in your sport. It’s so easy to say don’t give up, but I think that because it is easy to say makes it a meaningless thing to say. I am 57 and exercise (mainly riding a bike) does great things for me. When my father died of cancer (it took six months) exercise helped me to cope and get through a very difficult period. I hang onto that when life gets tough for me. I try to focus on what I can control and try harder to avoid wasting time worrying about the, “what ifs?”. Wishing you all the best and telling you that you are not alone, every person on this planet doubts the self, worries about what others think and face difficulties in their life. David

This shows a side to the sport that is rarely shared. A fascinating view and great support from Cannondale. Huge respect to Katie.

You were brave to challenge yourself for your sport; you were even braver still to post your truth. Thank you. Too often these struggles get hidden when in reality we all face struggles. It's good to know we're not alone.

Wishing you all the best and the bravery for sharing the highs and lows. To often we can be our harshest critic, believing the lies of our minds and not the truth of reality.

a very moving post. follow your instincts and seek out happiness. I am almost always impressed by athletes and their abilities, and I try to channel whatever I can take away into my own rides & other endeavors. this is a beautiful reminder to also do what it right for ourselves and our families. Go Katie! ...and Go Cannondale!

What a great video in terms of showing hard work, emotion(s) from traveling, training, racing and all of the emotion from the mechanic to Katie. Kudos to Cannondale for showing what life is like for pro athletes and making a committment to supporting Katie and the remainder of the team... it's nice to see this side and not just the 'money side of the business."

An intimate look inside the life (and mind) of what could otherwise just be another inaccessible, sponsor-clad racing machine streaking across my screen. Very honest storytelling that speaks volumes of the rider and the company that stands behind her (and this piece). Bravo.

This is just sport it doesn't define you as an individual no matter how gifted you are. Please be kind to yourself Katie, you are doing a great job and post 'goal' blues aren't uncommon.
