Variation means a deviation or change from the original scope of works/design/. Variation Process 1. Notice of Variation - informs client of change stating it involves this cost impact. 2. Confirmation of Variation - Client reviews and confirms. 3. Request for Variation Order - a comparison between existing and new program of works illustrating cost for works needed. This also begs the formal amendment of existing contract. 4. Variation Order - a document like a purchase order issued by the client to the contractor to formally include works that will be financially accounted for towards the contractor.
Hi Sir, i commented on your other video but that comment is more related to this video, Thanks for bringing me to this video link. Just a follow-up question about contract especially for variation order. First, My understanding about the calculation of variation order that it should be in detailed (same as class 1 estimate). Is it possible for a contractor to submit a variation order in a form of re-measurement? Or lumpsum?
Hi Engr.Ahmed, as watched your another videos for IPC and to deduct 10% of retentions from every month IPC, So for issuing variation amount to contractor, is the retention amount will also impact on variation amount or it will be fully issued to contractors? Thanks
As per the FIDIC contract, the contractor must execute the variations works even when they still haven't received the approval of their variations. Do you think that is the risk that must be accepted by contractors?
I believe it says the contractor shall not make any alterations without engineer’s instructions or approval. Hard to answer actually 😃, but if instructions are there then rights are preserved 👍. Contractor may proceed and agree the value in parallel to avoid delaying the works.
Thank you for the content, sir. Btw I bought your course quantity surveying on udemy but it is no longer available on the platform. Is there something wrong?
Thank you for your videos its helpful, but i prefer to remove the music because we need to focus on the information it self no need for the sound effect .. thank u again

Thank you for the support and wish you all the best 🙂👍🙏
It would be really great if viewers can see examples and the way of clamming the variation through the documents that you previously worked in
Short and useful thank you

May I know Myanmar people can apply QS in Dubai, pls
Dear Sir, EOT (the extension of time) is another form of Variation with or without a change in price of the contract. Thank you.
EOT is a claim so it can be considered as a variation without cost if no cost is claimed 👍

Same problem with me
If the programme is changed by concurrently managed variations that increase value, will the cash flow forecast alter?
If the program changes for any reason, the cash flow forecast will alter
Thank you 🙏🏼
