Thank you for your teachings. This corona will pass. I lost track of days, too. I had surgery. Your videos are helping me get better. Thank you, teacher. It’s paradise there in your yard.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all the dads in the world.. PETER, in the past week i have been working on all the trees i rescued from the heavy equipmement i didnt relize i have so many.. thank you for your video guides they are a big help in turning something that would have ended up in the rubbish heap to be burned into beautiful art so a MIGHTY MAJESTIC THANK YOU!!
Happy Father's Day, Peter! I never feel that your videos are repetitive. There's always something new, either visual, advice or both. I rematch your videos a lot to help your teachings sink in. In fact i have a Japanese White Pine on the way and your videos are helping me prep the soil and pot for it's arrival :)
Beautiful maples 😍 indeed. Never a dull moment watching and learning from Peter.. more video please 😇. Can't wait for the next one.. stay safe guys...cheers.
Thank you so much for that Walk in you nursery. I enjoy every one of your videos. They have been for me very informative on bonsai, which I love. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your taste.
Each tree is unique, so seeing each one develop is never repetitive. Stay safe and keep enjoying your beautiful bonsai, we certainly do! I love watching every video so please keep them coming!
Hi Peter thanks again for another fantastic video i have watched all of your videos and I'm sure I'll never get bored of them thanks again keep them coming
Another lovely specimen Peter! Its such a treat getting these lessons from you! Really enjoying these videos. We're in winter now so most of my own trees are bare bones. Cant wait to see what they do come spring time.
Happy fathers day. Thank you for showing us this today. I have recently done an airlayering from a Maple in my garden. Its very different to your tree but I am looking forward to the challenge of stylling it
Love the videos . So very relaxing . Have 7 , outdoor bonsai Maples . 1 small pine , 1 cascading Juniper , and one indoor Chinese Elm . Have been to the nursery about four years ago and was planning another visit , this summer . The virus has put a pause on that for the moment . Wishing you well .
I love the big bonsai. I mean I live in Japan and there's pruning and wiring of huge trees in the bonsai way at people's personal gardens. I think bonsai just is a term referring to whether it's in a pot or not.
Hi Peter, I cannot commend you enough for your passion and approach to distribute your knowledge and love for Bonsai. I would be most grateful as a newcomer to bonsai, if you could create a video dedicated to the Chinese Elm and I apologise if you have completed this in previous episodes, I am yet to come across those. Absolutely love your channel, you have kept me, and I am sure I speak for many, totally entertained in recent months. Best wishes, J.
Thanks for another beautiful video Peter, I just started trimming my wounded maple yesterday, this has given me a lot of ideas, trying to let it get a little wild to heal but I think if there are too many leaves the inside won't bud. I am growing about 100 JBPs right now and just did the first cutting on 1/2 of them so watching the heat pad and grow light, just starting to swell where the new nebari will form. Stay strong on that side of the pond.
Oh Peter!!! You have made my day.. if you don’t like it... don’t watch it!!! I love your videos, yes many have a point of repetition... but that’s fine.. it’s how we learn!!
Every be like going to heaven to get to go to your shop and work with you it couldn't be much better thank you have a good day for all the nice videos Jesse
What a treat that little tour at the end! I'd love to see what other kinds of maples you have in the nursery besides mountain maple, deshojo an benichi dori! I'm working with Katsura and sango kaki at the moment, lovely trees!
I fully agree with you Peter, I too prefer the bigger type bonsai over the smal versions. After all bonsai means tree in pot, even the imperial Japanese family has giant trees of a couple of hundred years old. So they who says that bonsai are hight bond, better should say nothing… I love your videos very much and we all should be honored that experienced master will share his experience with us, so thanks very much.
I love your work and your clear way of teaching. I think many of us would like o know more about you. Where are you originally from. What caused you or your parents to move to Great Britain. How did you get into bonsai, who taught or mentored you. All interesting as the trees you proudly show us.
great upload !!!! ..just want to say that i realy like the red color of the desoyo maple..it is so beautiful 💖🌈🌿🌳🌱 ..ps ..also i like when there is no airplane sounds ..very happy with your youtube channel peter
I love japanese maples, we've got about 25 in our little garden not as bonsai, a few are potted, but most of them growing free... Greeting from Wuppertal, Germany
Hi Peter, could you make a video about jin and shari? I still don quite understand how its done over time and the concept behind it. I have a 15 years old juniper and I'd like to do some shari styling in the far futur. I think that would also be interesting for others.
If someone is interested: 紅千鳥 _benichidori_ means something like "red (beni) plover (chidori)". It's also a kind of ume tree (prunus mume), but this maple cultivar got the same name.
Hi peter, i just acquired an acer palmatum dissectum(green). It's in a good size pot and about 3 foot tall just now. I was wondering if this type of maple would be any good for the usual style of maple bonsai or would it be best suited for its normal weeping style and left to grow bigger?
Have you ever bonsai a Half or Full Moon maple?Have tried to get some from California, but very expensive. Great for large bonsai, which we know you love...me too.
Brilliant video Peter. It's an amazing tree. We have two Acer Palmatum and one is about 4ft at least. The other is shorter twin trunk. With regard to pruning, you said pruning earlier creates ramification? Would it be alright to prune now, in July? When is best to prune in general? Autumn/Winter? Love the shirt by the way 😁
This is a very good time to prune - I just did some of my very large garden Maples yesterday and also doing many of my customers' garden trees this week.
Whoever said that don’t know what they’re talking about. There’s 5 ft plus bonsai in Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand! They’re classified as imperial size bonsai and are reserved for the imperial court
@Herons Bonsai. I have the 3 tree starter trees, can you advise what correct size training pot I need and also if I need to wait now till spring to repot and wire them. TIA
Presumptious people defining what bonsai is to Peter Chan! Let them get their own video series and write a couple of books first. I wonder what they will think about this question. There is a very old "live oak," 70 feet tall, which is already well-twisted due to our occasional hurricanes. Nearly forming pads already. I wonder if there is a guide to removing large limbs on really large trees for a bonsai effect? I also have a large pine in mind. Regardless - thank you for all the training you do.
Hello, I recently bought a Beni chidori Maple and when I received it I verified that the leaves are completely green. Is this normal this color at the beginning of June? Thank you
Dear Herons, I am a Bonsai lover from Bangladesh. I just love Maple trees! But I have no way to collect Maple trees. It would be a great pleasure for me, if you gift me some Maple seeds.
Let’s be clear, this is the best channel on UA-cam. Love these videos. Love the trees. Love how Peter shares his experience, expertise and wisdom.
No repetition issue here, Peter. I appreciate every single video you put out. So much learning. Thank you and have a good day.
Don't think twice about repetitiveness. Each of your videos is a delight and helps people learn. Thanks for making them!
Teachers are repetitive, the BEST way to learn. So appreciate your teaching and sharing style.I am binge watching, day and night.😘😁
Thank you for your teachings.
This corona will pass.
I lost track of days, too. I had surgery.
Your videos are helping me get better.
Thank you, teacher.
It’s paradise there in your yard.
You have no idea how sweet you are. I love your shirt. You cheered me up.
Big hug from Philadelphia. Huge fan of your nursery, I show people all the time.
Hope you can visit us one day.

Thank you so much for that Walk in you nursery. I enjoy every one of your videos. They have been for me very informative on bonsai, which I love. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your taste.
Your videos provide a wonderful break from the monotonous time in covid isolation! I’m so glad that I recently found your UA-cam channel. 🥰
Thank you for all the awesome videos!!
Another great maple bonsai. Thanks for sharing the tips and tricks.
Beautiful tree! I never tire of watching your videos!

I bet you can get some crazy hybrids out of that yard
I prefer these self-video styled videos, Peter :) More so than when you have one of your colleagues recording.
Oh! But I love your tall bonsai - most beautiful!
What a treat that little tour at the end! I'd love to see what other kinds of maples you have in the nursery besides mountain maple, deshojo an benichi dori! I'm working with Katsura and sango kaki at the moment, lovely trees!

Happy Father’s Day! Repeat on, very nice video. 🍃🌲🌳🌴🌱🌿🙉🙈🙊🐒
A wonderful video . I learn from every one. Thank you.

That’s a beautiful mega bonsai peter..
Admiring Benicidori and Deshojo maples and their unimagineable colors

This event IS depressing. It's no way to promote health or well being. Thank you for continuing to make videos for our education and enjoyment!
Love your videos !
I like all your videos! Keep safe and positive Peter ;)
i love that bonsai which are long above or more than 6 feet.
If someone is interested: 紅千鳥 _benichidori_ means something like "red (beni) plover (chidori)".
It's also a kind of ume tree (prunus mume), but this maple cultivar got the same name.
Repetition is why I subscribe. 👍
Beautiful tree, I'm fond of large trees also :)
Cutting outside his see ways of doing child bonsai natural 🥰🥰
Good morning sir. From Riverside CA.

How much i envy you for these maples. Here in Greece, they suffer and eventually die in the summer 😔
Happy Father’s Day Mr. Chan
Have you ever bonsai a Half or Full Moon maple?Have tried to get some from California, but very expensive. Great for large bonsai, which we know you love...me too.
My nightly dose of Bonsai
in spite of knowing that maples can't be grown in india ,still enjoying the video
nice shirt,by the way
Brilliant video Peter.

Love the shirt by the way 😁
This is a very good time to prune - I just did some of my very large garden Maples yesterday and also doing many of my customers' garden trees this week.
Excellent to know Peter. You're a gem as always. 😁
It can be a little tough to dig through the internet for good specific advice.
Hi Sir... can you help us with the small video on how get curly trunk while training a young bonsai with some different curly shape's
Whoever said that don’t know what they’re talking about. There’s 5 ft plus bonsai in Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand! They’re classified as imperial size bonsai and are reserved for the imperial court
@Herons Bonsai.
I have the 3 tree starter trees, can you advise what correct size training pot I need and also if I need to wait now till spring to repot and wire them. TIA
I would love to help you water those trees. To spend one day in your garden.
Come and join me here for a day or two

What ever haters are out here come through and catch these hands. Hmu for address no one disrespects this king
Hello, I recently bought a Beni chidori Maple and when I received it I verified that the leaves are completely green. Is this normal this color at the beginning of June? Thank you
It's hard to choose between the beauty of the ume flowers or the deshojo red leaves.
Sounds like a plan
Hi Peter, could you talk about turning raw material of a large cypress hedge into a garden bonsai? Thank you!
a bonsai present for fathers day, breakfast with the Peter, what could be better,,?
Peter, I use the day printed on my statin tablets packet to know what day it is!😂
Are you still locked in?
I have a question when is the best time for air layering?
Nice shirt :)
🔥❤👍😍
I didn’t realise acers can be wired during growing season! Can it be done with young trees too, or is it only mature ones?
Young ones as well
This tree obviously have a very obvious inverse taper on its stem Peter how will you deal with this fault?
Can one prune all the growing season long to keep the shape? Or does one hurt the tree with that?
He talks about that in another maple video. I think it may have been the large maple shaping video
Merci ! nice all ;)
Peter, I was wondering if the bottom left branch is needed at all - is it sacrificial?
You are the only person who spotted this - that branch is a sacrificial
Have you ever done bonsai with Metasequoia?
Yes - there is one already - look it up
You just knocked off the apex, so have you decided it's height?
Yes
They dont finish with carantin in U.K?
Dear Herons, I am a Bonsai lover from Bangladesh. I just love Maple trees! But I have no way to collect Maple trees. It would be a great pleasure for me, if you gift me some Maple seeds.
Mr Chan can you recommend a book on maples please
