Very interesting. Can really relate to where you were and the need to make a change. Happy for you that you did it and it worked out. Thanks for your insight. Food for thought!
Congratulations!!! Welcome to Philippine living. My dad is an American who fell in love with my mom and the country and lived here for 57 years. He had a good life, had lots of friends, love the culture. Before he died he said he would choose my mom and the Philippines over again. Mabuhay!
I am still here in the USA 🇺🇸 right now but I stopped working 2 years ago because I get too much stress from work but I am not retiring age for at least 5 more years.Since my husband wants to work still, I let him and when he is ready to retire we are planning to stay in the Philippines 🇵🇭
My later life parallels your story almost exactly. Stress, couple of 90% blockages, loss of hope and purpose. Lots more to it than I’m writing of course. I’m 76 years old now, look like I’m 50 though, but after a while one wonders what’s the point. I’m considering moving, but as you know you can’t move away from yourself and the baggage one carries. Your story brought tears to my eyes hearing what you went through. If you can set a good example and make the world a better place, then you’ve made your life worthwhile in my opinion. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone by any means. I always have respect for older people because I know life hasn’t been easy for them either. Some lucky ones like you are honest and lay it out - I do the same. Thanks for your video. It helped me as well.
Life is full of surprises, it’s also mysterious and we never question it, we just go with the flow. You are brave to embrace that change from US to the Philippines and I think that the reason why it’s working for you is because of your positive attitude. Good luck 👍🍀 and God bless you.
Me too! It is great story though with happy ending eh. I much rather hear interesting real story about regular guy than stories about Kardashians or Hollywood brats. Mark's story is truly inspirational.
Hmm ya, better if it were an 18 year old, right? I'm 55 and trying to get my channel off of the ground as well, and one of my fears is that I'm getting ignored because of my age, which is so, so, sad. Everyone will get older eventually, and no one likes to be thrown to the side and rejected because of something so, superficial, plus we still, have much to offer, well into our years. All of us do. Anyway, I'm pleased you enjoyed this man's video and I hope you learned something from it. My Best. Out.
@@jamesross8612 : Now that is absolutely, true, My Brother. If people want "reality tv" it's much, much, better for them to check out channels over UA-cam here, than that garbage on cable tv anyway. My Best. Out.
@Nik Out And About : Well Nik, first off, almost everything you've mentioned here, so far, I've already considered. Secondly, my channel so far, very much, reflects the type of person I'm trying to present here. I am a nature kind of guy, so the lake / forest image at the top of my main, channel, page reflects my personality perfectly, here. Also, of course, the thumbnail photo / image connected with my channel is not of me, naturally, but the me I see myself as on the inside. Some may consider it a bet misleading, but seeing as we are on a site where well over half the people here, don't even, try to have anything accurate to reflect their channels well, it's a bet hypocritical to shoot me down for that. At least, I'm not using the image of some celebrity, fooling people that they are someone who they are not, and which really, should be considered plagiarism or false representation at the very least. Third; I'm not here trying to make money, and I've said that repeatedly, in many of my videos, so far. I'm here to make friends and try to find a life partner, primarily. So keeping that in mind; I don't much, care if my channel appeals to kids or young adults anyway. What would even, be the point in trying to attract people from that age bracket. I'm OK with MATURE, 25 plus year olds, and pretty much, anyone beyond that age bracket. Forth; clearly you have not bothered to take the time to check out any of my videos, as I have explained time and time and time again, what is going on with the thumbnail images, both in the videos and in the descriptions to the videos, as well. Did you take the time to read any of those? This is how fucked up this website is, by not allowing people to upload proper thumbnails of themselves, unless you are willing to pay a small fortune for that simple, little, perk. The thumbnail images are from the videos themselves, and usually, the best from what UA-cam usually, allows me to choose from. All that I've explained so many times it's not funny. And lastly; I don't and never have and likely, never will ask for people to subscribe to my channel. Every subscription to my channel so far, I've gained purely, on the power of my comments and replies alone, it seems. Before this channel, I was here as the "whitemannativemind" that's "white man native mind" and I had over 50 subscriptions to that channel purely on the power of the same thing, as I never, ever, asked or begged anyone to subscribe to my channel. I'm quite, proud in gaining subscriptions that way, as I feel that if people truly, feel my channel is worth subscribing to, they will anyway, without me begging and pleading for them to do so. Sadly, that channel got terminated from the UA-cam website, without a proper explanation to me as to why, first or last. That was over two years ago now. The channel I'm using now is my google e-mail account. I've been surfing this site for over, eight years now, by the way, if not longer, so not new here, at all. Now, all that being said; I do ask for respectful, constructive, criticism all the time, and I DO, thank you for taking the time to suggest ways in which I can gain more viewers. I WILL, take your suggestions into consideration. Thank You. Warmest Wishes from Canada. Be Well. Be Safe. Out.
@Nik Out And About : PS: One thing you maybe, can help me with; can you suggest a program I can use to edit my videos when I forget myself sometimes and let out the odd, curse word. To be honest with you, I don't even, know how to bleep things out sometimes, when I want to correct something, so simply, leave it and hope for the best. If you've already, included that in your suggestions then thank you. Also, are there programs where I can include background music and won't get copyright notifications for? As I like playing my radio in the background, for background music that way, but every, darn, time I do, I get a copyright notification with the video once it's uploaded. Honestly, I find that the height of ridiculousness, and have even, e-mail UA-cam asking them to stop doing that, to no avail it seems. l see one suggestion here, and I'll have a look at that. Thank You. Also, please take note of what I've been using to make my videos so far. I've described that in almost, every video I make. I'm using a $50.00 camcorder that is some eight to ten years old, and which is on the way out now, and giving me endless problems. That is why everything is of such poor quality. But I've worn myself out explaining that one. I've been months now, trying to get the money together to get better, and am now, on the verge of doing that. I have $360 odd, dollars to work with now, so if you have any suggestions of what I can get for that, great quality for making UA-cam videos, then I'm very happy to get your suggestions. Right now, I'm torn between getting either a GoPro Camera or a Smartphone within that price range. Plus, I understand there are far, far, better camcorders out there, that I can get instead, and for that price, so I should be able to get something decent, and am also, considering that option, as well. The plus with a GoPro is that I can take it out in all kinds of weather, which is a huge, plus when trying to make videos for UA-cam. So I remain torn there, as to the best route to go. Again, I don't mean to come off rude or snotty here, and I am grateful for your attempt to help me. Thank You. Warmest Wishes from Canada. Be Well. Be Safe. Out.
The best thing about this story is that you didn't give up and made an easy exit, you keep going, look for a better chances, made some changes in your life and now your happy with it. Just came across your video here. I am married to a filipina woman from Ormoc for 11 years now. Im turning 50 and will retire to the Philippines when I turn 62. Happy that you found something good in the Philippines.
You have been through a lot and it is impressive how you have succeeded in getting up after adversity. I lived in the Philippines in the period from 2006 to 2015, from the age of 51 to the age of 60. Now I'm 67 and I feel I could return to the Philippines again as I miss the social life and the feeling that every day is equal without any stress. But, I think our kids will have a better future with a proper education here in Spain. My Filipina wife does not disagree with that and we will probably stay here, after all, there are palms here too and summer all year round but otherwise very different from the Philippines. Our budget here is on the same level as the Philippines, but this is largely due to the fact that we are included in the Spanish health system where doctors and hospitals are free for us. We save a lot on that as a family. I would probably do the same as you, but I have to think about the consequence it can have on our kids.
Don’t know why youtube brought me here but Im glad it did. A great lesson in never giving up hope. Wishing you all the future happiness you deserve. 🙏🏻

I know 100% what you meant by not having a life in the USA, I feel and felt the same until I went back to school 2 years ago at the age of 39. Loved every minute of it and during the "interview" from a counselor at the school before registering, he talked about some graduates moving to Europe, some in the USA and some on the pacific coast. While I was listening to him, I had a big smile and joined the conversationm and we talked for an hour or so about it. Left the school, started the process to go back that fall, and watched tonsss of german youtube for 4 months after, and, I started to get some recommendation videos from other youtubers living outside the USA, and pretty much subscribed to a hand full including yours, then the virus hit a month or so after I started to talk to a business in Germany and the rest is history about the virus. So if it's in God's hands I will be Living and working in Germany as soon as possible, I was told by a few European's in the last month (former co-workers) that I reminded them of a German person, :D :D, so time will tell. You don't need tons of stuff or money to have an amazing life, you are proof of that along with the people you interview, keep that content going when possible. I also love to travel so if I ever get to Philippines and you are still there we should get together and chat, time will tell on that as well obviously.
Life is very short! Truly it is a journey. Everyday, God is always opening a new door for us. However, sometimes we don't recognize it. It is because we are busy with many things in life that are not necessary. Honestly, simple life is the best life. What really matter is not how big our income is, but how much we save that is vital. Thank you very much for sharing your story. God bless!
Very uplifting story mate, sooo glad you chose the Phillipine move vs just ending it all. Personally, I think that message of not giving up is by far the most important thing to take from this video and your experiences; huge percentage of us, regardless of birth country, go through such dark times where it just doesn't seem worthwhile to keep trying. I think your story, so sincerely and humbly related, may make a difference to one or more who are facing such situations and feelings as you have shared; life in general is rough and can just beat you down at times. As for myself, I struggled with severe depression for many years and found meaning and peace through reading the bible, prayer and my personal relationship with Yeshua (Hebrew name for Jesus) the Christ; this has given me strength for our current time and complete assurance for eternity as well. Thanks for sharing and stay well friend.

Just wanted to let you know you are not alone by any means. I always have respect for older people because I know life hasn’t been easy for them either. Some lucky ones like you are honest and lay it out - I do the same. Thanks for your video. It helped me as well.
I am so glad you found happiness in the philippines you went through hell and i hope you never ever get suicidal thoughts again God Bless you
Where are you in the philippines?
He is still in hell, he just hasn't realized yet.
Life is full of surprises, it’s also mysterious and we never question it, we just go with the flow. You are brave to embrace that change from US to the Philippines and I think that the reason why it’s working for you is because of your positive attitude. Good luck 👍🍀 and God bless you.
Never thought I would watch some middle age guy talking for about 26mins about his life. That was nice. 👍
Be Well. Be Safe. Out.

Your children should be your priority.
And Spain is wonderful
What a story, glad you got more happy!!
Don’t know why youtube brought me here but Im glad it did. A great lesson in never giving up hope. Wishing you all the future happiness you deserve. 🙏🏻

This guy has the worst luck I think I’ve heard about in a long time. Kudos to him for not giving up! Glad things are working out for him. Love
@@everymanhasastory I am proud of you! I know God is working in your heart. Let your creator work inside of you. Wishing you the best! I liked how the story finally got better and better. I want to move to off grid hawaii, but am stuck in Iowa USA. Its ok we have a motel and everything is paid off, but no one wants to buy an old small motel so we just keep saving our money, so we can retire and continue growing most of our food, I like growing tomatoes and using cover crops to change the soil to be more beneficial to the plants. Any land available near you to grow food?
Honest man give him a break.
you're on the rhe right country, even we're not a very rich country, people here are hospitable, happy even some of my fellowmen eat only twice s day,i'm proud to be a filipina, loving, caring
Yeah sa foreigners lang pero sa kapwa pinoy ewan lang mulat natin mga mata natin anong nangyayari sa mga majority kababayan natin hospitable ba tayo sa mga kababayan natin?
@binondoboy1 enriquez ...got it, one point!! 👍
Racism is still in the Philippines
@@adelinaobillo4389 Grabe ka naman sa mga Pilipino. 🤣 Pilipino ako at marami ako na-encounter na Pilipino na hospitable sa pag-cocommute, travel, etc. Yung mga Pilipinong di hospitable, they are a special kind of snowflakes. 🤣 Wag ninyo naman sabihin na mga Pilipino hospitable lang sa foreigners because that is 100% fake news.
@@Hello-je7iv ngayon mo lang alam pag puti iniidolo pag itim ang kulay ginagawang kenkoy
I for one, am so glad that you survived and are still with us. you are a very interesting and down to earth guy, hope to meet you some day.
Sometimes in life we need a little bravery to be happy....
we also need money
@@davidwolstenholme3672 a $1000 monthly pension can take you places in the Philippines.
@@suiken3149 that no doubt is true but not all people recieve that amount in a month i dont.
@@davidwolstenholme3672 I know its not easy but adapting the way Filipino spent their money would be really useful. 500 bucks or even less can get you filled up for a month.
@@suiken3149 i believe you,but here in england depending on what job people had and the sort of pensions they paid into ,pends on the amount of pensions they recieve ,as not all get a good wage here. And i was a carer so my money came from government, and i was forever fighting to get it.And some people from england went to live in spain, and got into difficulty as there pensions were not always paid into their bank account.Although many want to come and live here im 76 and england is not the country it once was.
i've retired 10 yrs ago at age 48, never married so no responsibilities, and i've thought of retiring back home to PI, but it's hard to leave family [siblings, nephs/nieces, grandkids], it's what's holding me in NJ, i think i can live in a bahay kubo, raise chicken and pigs and plant veggies for food, i would love to find a beach front place to live in tho' [my dream]... still researching and tryin' to convince myself... [it's terrible all these bad things happened to you]
You are lucky to have a second chance in one live.
Good luck for new life!
I love the view on the mountain
Thats pretty much a standard view from anywhere in the Philippines. It really is an amazingly beautiful and scenic country!!
WoooW!!! I’m jealous
Where is this in the Philippines?
I think it is on Negros, the largest island in the central Visayan Region
Miss so much my hometown
Im glad you are still with us mate...i know the pain...

Hey craig, greetings. Loved what you wrote. In what Mark has related, I just thought here was a man who until the last option he had it planned on ending his life. That is so serious. We need people like you and are who can give advise and wisdom on these issues. Always giving the word through love always.
