- I Will Never Be Filipino... This is just a few thoughts and feelings I have about this journey. I just thought it was about time I share a little bit with everyone here in youtube about my #BecomingFilipino journey. I thought from time to time it would be nice to get a little bit more personal and just share with YOU.

This is, by far, the most positive sit down video you created, Kulas. Meeting you in person in Cebu during the Tourism Summit made me realize the goal you have for #BecomingFilipino. Your stories and your travel adventures made me appreciate my country and promote local tourism. I can understand that very clearly. I mean, someone can never be a Filipino or any other nationality just by changing the citizenship. It's deeper and more personal. But of course, you are always welcome to becoming Filipino... wow so sincere, kulas i do not normally post on your channel but this video made me like you even more, even if you leave Philippines, you already made your mark as a filipino, that is right , for me you are a filipino, if i see you in Canada i will definitely say, "Kumusta ang aking kapatid na Filipino?" because you have proven to all of us that you have become a Filipino, goodluck kid and keep those videos coming.
In the Philippines you are a commodity. We dont ask you anything else other than you living among people who care. Life is fun there, and theyd rather appreciate company than an iphoneX. Goodjob man. Filipinos work 12-18hours a day to survive, it is obvious people will not always smile to you all the time but your presence is enlightening to them. I have caucasian friends who spend their 1/4 of the life in a office cubicle waiting to die. The only luxury they have is 30 min of drinking after work. Im filipino and that is all i do here in the U.S work myself in a cold cubicle facing a wall 8-10 hours a day with 80% of my savings taken by the government. Your very lucky. I haven’t felt the warm beach sand in my callous feet for 14 years. You are filipino enjoy that feeling of freedom.

theres no place like home...its understood but i do believe u have learned a lot of culture ,tradition and people in philippines more than in canada. you gained lots of love and care in philippines .... the filipino people love u. so i do believe deep inside u, u cant go away from "becoming filipino". you may leave philippines someday to settle in canada for good but surely you will keep coming back to philippines for that is your destiny..its becoz the more you learn,the more u share, the more u love its very difficult to forget difficult to evade.

There's really no need for you to become a true Filipino, KULAS. All you need is a heart full of positive vibes that you've learned from us Filipinos. Becoming a filipino is something beyond what foreigners like you can fully understand. But nevertheless, as a Filipino myself, i would like to thank you from the innermost chambers of my heart for trying and somewhat becoming one of us. Kyle man you've been in the Philippines for how long now? Seen and done all these cool Filipino things but you still haven't learned to speak the language fluently. You can't fully connect with Filipinos if you can't speak the language they've spoken their entire lives. Learn the language bro and you will understand them on an entirely new level.

Filipino or not, the Philippines is a better place with you here, Kulas. While other travel bloggers here in the Philippines go to those high class, five star hotel resorts, and eat in classy fine dining restos, which most Filipinos could not afford much more relate to. But you...you go to the barangays, far remote barrios and meet the locals. You eat with them, get drunk with them, have fun with the kids and eat in carinderias, buy things in sari-sari stores, got to the market. You show the world that ordinary Filipinos, poor and all, have beautiful life stories to tell. And you Kulas, share that to the world in a wonderful way.

Most thought he's abandoning his canadian roots, which is NOT true. He's still a PROUD CANADIAN. Kinda like me with a canadian citizenship, I don't go out there and tell people "I'm Canadian." I'm still a proud Filipino no matter what I do or say.

What I understand to what you said about you, becoming a Filipino is like you trying to live like a Filipino, interact like a Filipino. I personally appreciate the great things you've said about our country. And you know what, you have been part of the lives of the Filipinos from where you are staying and that means you are somehow a Filipino. Maybe not a natural born but a Foreigner with a touch of a Filipino heart.

I can relay to what you are saying, I myself grew up in Cebu, came to the USA , lived here and naturalized myself American, lived here in USA, longer than I have lived in the Philippines. I still think and feel as Filipino, my ways maybe a little westernized but my heart will always be Filipino. Being one is not being born there, it’s how you feel in your heart when you are around them and understanding the culture and respect for their mores and taboos. Kulas you are a Filipino in more ways than you will ever know. Kudos for loving our country!
