I just did this combo last week :) it turned out really nice!
My uncoloured hair is between a 7 and 8 on these swatches. Used this as a reference and it turned out looking pretty good, but just as a note to anyone planning to do this: I'd put in about 1/3 of the recommended amount of purple and added a bit of extra orange because it looked like it might become a bit dark/murky, however when I applied it it my hair is not dark at all and definitely a bit too orange, so stick with the recommended amounts!

Would love to see what “natural” browns you can devise from the AF lineup. It’s hard to find semi-permanent hair dyes in non-fashion colors! Thanks for the information and inspiration!
It doesn't last more than 2 days on brows unfortunately...tried multiples colours but it never last

I totally get you! I looked everywhere and tried mixing hairdyes but didn't get the right formula, then I found Keracolor Cleanditioner ( I used the one called Mocha if I remember correctly), I diluted it a bit with conditioner and it worked to dye my hair from faded pastel blue and orange to a dark blonde. A month passed and it washed off, and I was back to blonde. You can mix it with the tone Copper and get ginger if you use the right amount, there's also black I think.

The ratio in this video is backwards. Their recipe says more orange than purple not more purple than orange. The only thing that it does is make it more bright ginger when you do their recipe and yours looks more of a darker more natural ginger so either is a good recipe and I can’t wait to try it out this week!

Wow, this is really pretty. I used to have copper hair but I bleach it and now I have really light hair. I don’t want to commit to any permanent dye but still I miss the copper hair. I will definitely be trying this combo soon! Once the purple in my hair fades out

I find it very hard to find videos of people using this on a darker base color or using it by itself since most people mix it with purple rain.

I dyed my old faded copper balayage with PURPLE AF and regretted it instantly! could I add a cosmic sunshine and sunset orange mix to the hair as it is now (purple) in order to achieve the copper? just wondering✨
can u do a hair level swatch with the brand overtone? dying to try out the colors but don’t wanna get a color that doesn’t show! 😩
annalisa moore overtone is cute but it’s basically just any dye mixed with conditioner. you get more bang for your buck if you get an af dye and mix it with dye because overtone you get maybe 1 or 2 uses out of it. and it’s sooo expensive
I agree, love overtone- I just hate that its so expensive and I have to reapply every 4/5 washes. For me it was great for trying out colours on bleached hair

I have a medium brown color that's got some sun bleached bits. I haven't dyed my hair for almost a year. I'm thinking of doing this mix to get a deep natrual looking red. I tried Vampire Red on unbleached hair a few years ago and it came out suprisingly vibrant. So I'm curious how it's gonna tun out lol.
Can you do a swatch test of trying to get coppers with sunset orange and the purples? Trying to see if getting yellow is necessary or if I can get this bright orange copper without yellow

Why didn’t you try arctic fox ginger mix with more sunset orange and just few drops of purple rain ? I m lost, I don’t know what mix I would choose now xD what différencies at your opinion ? Many thanks 🙏🏻
I guess it's because otherwise it was too light. I kinda liked the middle shade but I'm finding it super hard to translate to like bigger non spoon measurements lol

Ha, I tried it. I put in a tiny bit of purple, but it was way too much! It turned my whole mixture very dark brown. And I had used all the yellow. Ooops

Not stupid! I wish I would have converted the ratios in my earlier videos for everyone lol but the first section I did is 12:4:1 (12 Parts Cosmic Sunshine - 4 Parts Purple Rain - 1 Part Sunset Orange) the second mix is 12:2:1 and the last is 12:1:1. Hope this helps!
can u use black instead of purple?
Probably too late to answer this, but yes you can, but be aware that Transylvania has a blue base. If your hair has yellow tones, it might turn green as it fades out

@MsSarahHunny No when I used the sunset orange it was way to vibrant and looked very red. When I mixed the purple and orange it looked really pretty in the bowl but it’s came out completely different then how it looked in the bowl. I think you do need the yellow to really lighten the orange for it to look good and come out right
The lime crime caramel looks nothing like the lime crime caramel video you posted. In that video they look pinkish and in this they actually look ginger. I'm honestly confused
