seen these guys live for the first time back in September,,,both guitarist shredded,,what a live performance,, great guitar team,,can't wait to see them again
Doug Scarrett great guitar player and really nice person alway willing to sign autographs take pictures along with the other band mates. Saxon never miss a show when they are in Chicago area was at this show in St Charles and they rocked . Looking forward to seeing Saxon and UFO and October...\m/
I just listened to their 40 year Anniversary Live Album the other day, and boy does the TONE on Back in '79 and I've gotta Rock to Stay Alive RIP!! Would really love to know what backline he was using for that, the show was recorded in 2011 according to the liner notes, so I doubt he would have been using any modellers, but mySpeakers almost want to jump off the floor when you have that album cranked! So I guess that's a nod to whoever was doing their live mixing too. Will we get any Saxon / Priest shows in the Southern Hemisphere?
Wow, he could focus. He talks about no interference at the end whilst some bloke is 1 - 2, 1 - 2 testing the mike. I'd have to be somewhere quiet to be able to concentrate. Top bloke by the way.
I'm kind of a new fan. Doug seems to be more fluid and at home with his ESP Eclipses with floyds. Just form seeing them live and now watching live vids it seems the ESP's fit him like a glove and a tad better than the Les Paul Axcess. Paul Quinn is best with his Axcess though. I had a gun metal axcess too but sold it. I just bought a whilte esp ctm with floyd which is on the way! ESP and Gibsons are my favorite at the moment. Also is his Eclipse CTM a full thickness with floyd? I cant seem to find a full thickness floyd loaded eclipse ctm.
Who should we film with next?
Iced Earth, Wolf Hoffman, Troy McLawhorn
Nuno Bettencourt
What a great guy, so down to earth , Saxon metal legends awesome
🤘
One of my most favorite guitarists ever. Never get sick of Saxon solos. Such a fine band. Like Paul too.
😀😀
His green Charvel he played during Sacrifice was absolutely bad ass! Doug is definitely one of my favorite guitarists of all time!
Doug is a really top man and a wonderfully top guitarist... ;-) x
Definitely!

For anyone who wants those strings, he uses the hybrid slinky set. The skinny top heavy bottom is a 10 to 52.
Thanks for the info.
My go to strings for night on 40 years now.🤗
No he said 9 through 46 is what he said I guess you didn't listen

Wow, Geiles Equipment. Mega Gitarrist 🤘
Fkin noise in the background...why interview someone during soundcheck....otherwise, perfect video
These videos are obviously filmed under extreme time constraints. It's either film it like this or have the video not exist.
