- Guys, today I am going to ask the question. This card came out with a lot of hype that seems to have completely disappeared. So, is it worth it?

Only reason I’d get this would actually for its little brother, just the Autograph card. 3x on transit. It’s the last daily spending multiplier I’d need. Unfortunately got denied, but it’s cuz I had just gotten the Bilt card 2 weeks prior. Will try again for Xmas, hopefully they have more transfer partners then
I think you identified it: this is a good card for someone doing cash stays. I've kicked it around, as I buy most of my domestic flights with cash and I travel for conferences a couple times per year where I follow the conference hotel rate, rather than my preferred brand (these aren't good candidates for portal bookings). But I dont need another 3x restaurant card and the no AF Autograph has the 3x travel. I can't make the math work entirely, even with the statement credit. It covers a few use cases I have every year very well, but that's not enough on its own. Id probably get it before I would get any Marriott card, and I might have gotten this instead of the WOH card had it been available.
I have the active cash and autograph, I will be getting this card, trying to wait out for a elevated sign up bonus. But will get it September as I have $1,000+ hotel stay coming up. With negative changes to the altitude connect, this will replace that for me. The 5x on hotels is huge for me as I work for a hotel and pay employees rates for my rooms. This Trifecta can generate points very quickly which I love.
Thats very interesting. Bonuses are generally highest when the card is launched. I dont think i would wait.
@@LukesPointsandMiles I have big stays coming up in September and October so waiting till closer to September so it'll make it easier to hit the sign up bonus
@@TheAudioCzar nice move
I ended up going with the regular Autograph since it covers more categories and no annual fee. My biggest plus was being able to earn by booking directly with airlines/hotels. Can’t stand the chase travel portal.
The autograph is amazing for no AF
Transferring Choice Points to Preferred Hotels is a fantastic way to enhance your Redmtions. I'm excited to book a stay at a Montage Hotel!
This ecosystem has the potential to be great if WF puts in the effort. A WF trifecta, with more transfer partners would be unbeatable.
Eh, I'm not even interested in a trifecta. We need to see where they go as far as partners
@@LukesPointsandMiles I was thinking of points earning potential. The three cards cover basically everything but groceries.
which for most of us is the largest expensive!!
Preach!
Wasn’t there a rumor they’re working on another card above the Journey, with a higher AF?
Maybe that one will compete with Amex gold, focused on dining/groceries.
Nice video Luke. I agree the Wells Fargo Autograph has the better value prop as no AF and access to transfer partners over the WF Journey
It’s almost like the no af autograph just overshadows this one and they overlap a bit
The play here is to get the Autograph Journey and its 60k bonus points, then PC to the regular Autograph in year 2. Now you have a card that earns 3x on dining, gas, travel, phone / streaming with no FTFs plus transfer partners. Arguably better than applying for the Bilt card with no SUB.
Sure. Are they doing product changes though. I’ve heard conflicting stories
Agree that the card is a great bonus play and that its transfer partners, while limited, can be very valuable. Clearly WF tried to beat its competitors with some of the high multipliers, but I'm just not sure how many people will regularly utilize them (i.e. 5x on hotels instead of the multipliers on hotel cards ... not for me, unless I'm staying at a small boutique hotel). Great overview Luke!
Thank you sir! 5x transferable points might be better than hotel cards for some. But, maybe not?
The WF Autograph and Savor One have become my backup cards for overseas travel.
Not bad combo
Great job on UA-cam ❤
Thanks Vickie!
those cash explosions definitely caught me off guard, I had to double take to make sure another tab wasn't playing audio lol, also nice video
Haha. I found a little trick. I thought it was fun
Not a bad SUB pickup for 60k. Will pick this up once I “finish” my permanent keeper card setup near end of 2026 and I’ll just cycle through this, Citi Premier, CSP/CSR, C1 SUBs throughout the years while picking up NLL Amex and inks in between. Not a keeper for me though 🙅 and hopefully there’s some DPs regarding downgrades soon. 5x for hotels is nice though much better earn than the silly 6X on the Bonvoy cards.
I think that’s a good strategy
Decent pts multipliers for sure - but not so great transfer partners. Gonna pass. Thanks for the info + video!
Thanks for watching, Jimmy. I’m betting the partners get way better
Citi Trifecta completed!! 🎉🎉🎉
Custom Cash
Double Cash
Strata Premier
I like your citi style!
You don't need double cash, convert it to another Custom Cash
@@yurig2530 Actually, I'm in my 2nd 8-week 6X Dining promo of 2024 with my Double Cash. You wouldn't know about it unless you're holding one.
Great video as always. I was thinking about this card but I think I will pass.
Nice to have options though!!
I transferred WF points to BA Avios, then transferred them to Qatar Avios and booked FRA~DOH~HKG one way first class flight for an excellent redemption value. So yeah, not too bad I guess. FYI I only have the OG Autograph, I personally don't value WFAJ or their 60,000 SUB for now.
That’s a great redemption!!
Wells Fargo is very polarizing, you have those that say they absolutely will never get a card/do business with them and you have those that drool over the cards and always come with the "if Wells Fargo did this and that with its ecosystem it would be unbeatable" like it isnt the same case with a few of the other issuers. I realistically would potential get a card or 2 just to collect the bonuses and the bonus would have to really be worth it for the card to eat a 5/24 slot
I think they autograph is a great card if you want to stay away from AF's
Bruh. WF and Citi do not have any cards worth a 5/24 slot. Even Barclays and US bank do! BofA is does not participate in 😂
@@newagain9964 Ha! You’re wild.
Been hearing how Iberia involuntarily downgrades biz tickets without compensation
Wow. That’s Insane!
100% s bonus hunter card. They have 2 of my top 3 transfer partners and I'm trying to take a family of 4 to Europe next year... 60k points won't hurt. I haven't looked at the regular autographs SUB though...
agree. for a bonus it's an easy win
Hey don't knock on Comfort Suites by Choice either. Stayed at one Friday night and it had a full hot tub in the room and two, not one but two fridges all for $110.
Not a bad deal!!
Yesss ,it's worth it
So far, it's OK.
I’ve got the Chase trifecta for travel, but I’m switching to WF for cash back as I’m settling down and not going to be traveling much for the next several years. Great categories with the Autograph and Active Cash for cash back and I have no need for the Journey yet.
Autograph is very strong!
If I flew more often and was more of a bargain hunter than a brand loyalist I would get it, the unrestricted airline and hotel points could make up the af with the extra 1 or 2% over the free one. But I usually drive on vacation and often stay with friends so I can live with the 3% travel on the free Autograph
American roadtrips are the coolest travel!!
I have this and got the SUB. I’m using it primarily for Choice hotels. I don’t need to be in a bougie hotel all the time especially for short trips. When I do want to pretend to feel rich 😂 I’ll book a Hilton or Marriott using one of the Amexes
Nice moves!!
Sounds like a great card for study abroad college students or backpackers
I think it’s a great card but it’s stiff competition at that price point
The ecosystem is decent but not great yet. WF needs to add at least a 2nd transfer partner from each airline alliance - maybe Aeroplan for Star Alliance, a non-Avios airline (Alaska or AA?) for oneWorld, and Virgin for Skyteam.
yeah i dont think this is the final list of transfer partners, I would like to see them add one every couple of months, just to keep them in the news feed
I think Wells Fargo has the best no annual fee duo. Active Cash and Autograph could be a good fit for less frequent travelers or as s secondary ecosystem for someone who wants to minimize annual fees. Autograph Journey seems like more of a specific use case card.
I agree
explosion is the highlight of the video 😂
Haha. Cash everywhere!
An Avios Sweetspot is booking Fiji Air to Fiji, Australia or New Zealand, it’s about 100k one way in business, $10 in taxes to fly there and 90 on the way back. Book with BA Avios. I’m going to Fiji and Sydney later this year.
Nice moves, Anthony!!
I feel like this card has tons of potential and if it had an 80 - 100k bonus people would be freaking out.
Yes they would. Imagine grabbing 100k avianca lifemiles for $95!!
Yeah that would be sweet. Or Avios!
It might be worth it for gardeners. I’d like to see how they build out their transfer partners first. I’d love to see them give the Big 4 some comp.
Don't think you understand gardening. Since this is still a personal card, it still eats up a 5/24 and thus would not be gardening
Yeah it’s a decent offering but nothing special.
Their overall ecosphere is unimpressive right now, but Wells Fargo is doing something that almost no other issuer is doing:
Providing more value and improving their system rather than degrading it. Let’s hope that trend continues
Definitely trending up
Like any card, it's worth it for the SUB for the first year, but ultimately, I think it loses out to the regular Autograph card considering you can also transfer out to partners for a no annual fee and it has more multipliers that covers more everyday categories.
I soon will be PCing my Active Cash to the Autograph considering that I now have the Signify Business Cash that also gets me 2% on all purchases and having two 2% flat cards with the same issuer is redundant to say the least. Signify Cash also allows you to pool your points with the Autograph so the $500 SUB on the Signify Cash turns into 50,000 Wells Fargo points on the Autograph. Which in turn means 100,000 choice points for Cambria, Ascend, or Preferred Hotels for a no annual fee. Not a bad deal at all.
I like your style
Can you do a video on the Hilton Surpass card? Seems to be a solid value for those who don’t want to spend on the Aspire AF
I probably should update my Hilton card videos. Surpass is a great card.
I will never do business with them again! Wait, what's this? A competitive cc is like forgiveness flowers.
Haha. Those are the same folks that don’t care at all while chase is fined 500 million for atrocities world wide haha
If Wells added a grocery category and allowed to transfer points to bilt it would instantly become the best bank
That would be wild
Watching the Journey, If they add Hyatt to the travel partners I am in.
I keep hearing that. It seems most folks dont understand that if Hyatt partners with a huge bank like wells, the market will be flooded with Hyatt points and guess what? They will speed up these yearly devaluations and make them just another hotel currency
Uncle Luke, do you not have personal WoH credit card (didn’t see it on your referral link)?
I do not have that one.
What is your favorite way to do USA to London?
I havne't done it but it def is not BA. Asia Miles is a good way. AA might be a great way as well.
@@LukesPointsandMiles I’m trying to get there for a London game this year (my wife is a bears fan) I’m thinking JFK-Man 60k on aer Lingus plus 5.60. Best I’ve seen yet.
@@IanMaschal that’s sounds great I honestly wasn’t aware you could take aerlingus to London for $5.60. I thought the taxes and fees would be much higher than that. Unless it’s booked through AA
Nothing overwhelmingly special about this card. It’s solid but I’d rather sign up for other ones right now
Sounds about right

thanks for watching!!

I got the autograph card around 7 months ago and got them to send me a check for $325 after my points were awarded. 6 months and a few days later I applied for the autograph journey card while at 12/24 and I was denied. Disappointed as I wanted to earn a check for over $600. Oh well.
12/24 might be time to slow it down
@@LukesPointsandMiles I seem to recall you saying on a post that anything worth doing is worth overdoing!

Probably the worst of the bank cards out there.. I feel like they're not even trying to compete with Citi, Chase and Cap 1.
I think of those comparisons the wells $95 card is better than the venture card at $95
@@LukesPointsandMilesTrue, I still expected a bit more though.
The high tier card is really going to have to pull out some of the big guns because as of now Wells Fargo is for the poors.
Terrible cards.
Interesting take.
AA not being a transfer partner is a dealbreaker for me.
AA will not joint anyone. It would devalue their points and right now they have some really strong points.
Uh nobody partners with AA except bilt. Even then, that’s ending next month. Guess you should stick to a debit card.
@@soapa4279 I think a lot of folks thought that wells would have the name partners as Bilt but obviously that’s not the case. It seems as if Bilt will not be able to keep some of their partners around. But the strategy worked since it made the Bilt card very popular.
I think you identified it: this is a good card for someone doing cash stays. I was surprised just how similar it is to the fee card
