Just popping on to say thank you ☺️ I can tell you all understood my message, which is that it doesn’t matter what the barrier is, whether it’s funding, nhs, or insurance, or something else entirely, the point is, this an experience a lot of share in one way or another & we all wish those in positions to help us, would actually help 🙌🏽

That was a powerful poem and I would encourage you to sent it to some newspapers. Your voice deserves to be heard outside of the chronic illness community.
I live in Australia so it may be different here but I think it is important to remember that we employ our doctors when we go to see them. If they are not serving you well then go and see a different GP. Is that possible for you to do? Ask friends and family for recommendations. I have also learnt that when talking to your doctor it is essential that you specify exactly how your quality of life is effected. You have to be blunt and say ‘My quality of life is virtually nonexistent, because of _, I can’t do _, _, &_.
Really it is just nonsensical that two specialists have prescribed you a medication and your GP refuses to continue prescribing it! 🤬 You really do have to laugh cos otherwise 😳😭. I hear you and hope you can feel my love travelling to you across the seas.💕
I really hope you get the medicine you need ASAP.

That poem definitely rings true for me as my doctor is now being investigated for negligence. Also, my old pharmacy never had my medication in stock, so I understand your wait. Definitely do more poetry. My late friend used to brighten up people's lives with his. Take care 👍 ☺ 💜

Ugh, doctors can be so frustrating! I always get excited when I am going to have a doctors appointment, then by the end of it I’m usually very irritated, angry, impatient, and just overall upset. I get tired of waiting for the help I need. I’ve thought about it often, and it’s the feeling of being in an emergency where you are slowly dying and need help as soon a possible, but no one can/will get you the help you need because they don’t understand the severity and emergency of long term illness, or simply don’t have enough time to help. But if you were a healthy person who had an emergency and were dying right then and there and needed to be rushed to the hospital you would get all the help you needed. Instead I’m told just be patient and wait. How long can I patiently wait until my body gives out and can’t fight anymore? Sorry to rant. These thoughts just run circles in my brain and almost drive me to insanity, and no one understands why I feel this way.😂 I hope your doing as good as you can be.❤

The poem is beautiful and it hits home for many of us I think ❤ when you're disabled and/or chronically ill so much of your survival, quality of life and wellbeing depends on the good will of others, like doctors, nurses, government, society, physical therapy etc. It's so frustrating and actually dangerous!

That’s so true! I’ve seen a lot of people try to stock up on prescription meds to gain some independence back (as in, not be so dependent on the pharmacy to have what you need & also dependent on the doctors to keep the repeat prescriptions going), but then they’ve been criticised for that by paramedics or district nurses. I don’t think anyone can truly know what it feels like to have your quality of life or sometimes even your life, in other people’s hands 😌

@@GeorginasJourney true. It's ridiculous. And scary. I also feel dehumanised, it's like I'm a chess figure on some else's board. Some people make or refuse to make life changing decisions for us in 5 minutes based on their current mood that day.

Sadly the poem rings so true. Just the month of June. I was diagnosed with a kidney infection and cultured for an rare bacteria that was positive. I was told at the e.r. (When the first two anti biotics failed to fully fix the fever). And had notes from my urgent care m.d. At discharge I was told “I do not deal with pelvic pain”. Is what the e.r. Doctor said. I have no uterus anymore, and was not looking for pain pills. But cool. Thanks for the pointless visit. And pointless referral to obgyn for an organ I do not have anymore. I spiked a 103.8 fever that night and had to go back to an m.d. to get a third anti biotics that it finally fully worked. Such a waste of my time. I often wonder if some just don’t read notes you know? Ugh s …. My last blood test was good thank God. But the U.S. has insurance and quality of care issues too. For sure. Sad that both countries have health care issues so badly. The things they never tell grads going into med school. 😔

Not fair to the NHS??!! Ask the Dr whats cheaper, the meds or all the ambulance rides and hospital stays.

Thanks for the poem Georgina, giving another example to the definition of a poem as a « thing of beauty » . So, good on you for that expression. On the content, is this a case of someone thinking their role is to ration NHS expenditures?

    • @GeorginasJourney
      @GeorginasJourney  Рік тому

I love that definition! Yes, I think it is, he’s a doctors who’s in charge of the doctors practice and so I wonder if that plays a role in him feeling like he’s in charge of what gets budgeted to whom

Oh my darling girl! I pray for God to touch you and heal you with His Divine Healing as He is the only one who can and wants to help us! The medical profession has become so corrupt in my country too, but you are so young and who better to help than a young precious, brilliant, talented angel who hasn’t got to experience life because of your suffering? What isn’t fair is that they doctors are all about money, not helping people like the profession was in the beginning and they are heartless because it doesn’t hinder them at all that others are sick and suffering. I pray they open their eyes and hearts before it does effect them or one of their loved ones and they find themselves in the position of having someone lord over them that they have the power of life and death, but they are not worthy of being helped. I pray our Lord comes soon and pours out the blessings and joy that you have deserved all of your life and not received because of the corruption of men’s hearts and souls! You are an angel! I will continue to pray for you as long as I am here. If I could trade places with you dear child I would. I am old and have had little relief of suffering the past 40 years but I have not suffered like you! I love you Darling!

Personally I’d send that to a newspaper as that poem maybe about your prescription but it is something that is affecting everyone esp those who are chronically ill & I think it should be highlighted. It’s funny in an ironic way cos u never thought things would ever get this bad. Where I live now it is taking 8 weeks plus to get a routine drs appt which for someone who is chronically ill could land them in hospital if they don’t get their routine checks even an urgent are either being done online with an awful service like push dr app. Or they are taking up to a week to get to see someone local which should be done the same day so again many end up at the hospital which then puts a strain in the hospitals. As for dentists they are reducing so fast as most are losing NHS contracts & if u can’t attend more than twice due to other issues u get dropped from the nhs list as there are so many people waiting to get in with an NHS dentist. Many kids can’t even get braces they need now as not enough nhs Orthadontist’s about so they have to maintain a crowded mouth. Britain which is meant to be one of the richest countries in the world is now facing many of the issues that the third world countries are facing all cos our government like to take from the working class to line their already heavily loaded pockets. We as a country now have more food banks than Mc Donald’s due to cost of living crisis & many families are struggling to get their kids clothes for school. It’s so heartbreaking even myself have had to start shopping in cheaper shops as I can’t afford to pay the prices places like Tesco & Asda charge even B&M which used to be a cheaper store is just as expensive to shop in & most of the cheaper stores it’s harder to get free from items & my son has allergies to nuts so it’s even harder to shop now. Send that poem to a national newspaper as the whole country needs to see that. Thanks for sharing xx

I have a poem for you....
    Her hair is falling out
    Down as it lies
    Soft and solemnly
    So she cries.
When someone dares open their ear
The care of a doctor magically appears
    Give my friend great supplies
For they will be for her exercise.
Only the best of those would know
The beauty ahead and how it glows.
Keep your head up! Georgina! ❤
