As most car reviewers he s missed the point of the car. And doesn't understand who s looking at the review. The audience doesn't care if it's leather everywhere or not. It's not a Ferrari...Only if it looks good compared to other similar cars or not. Most people would want it to be a family car. And/or a city car for practical use in which it seems to be perfect. Most people aren't even interested in the fully spec. version. We will buy the car because of the affordable price. And the size and a couple of extra features. (Size because it's compact and not a monster truck) Not everyone like a big SUV. My guess is that most will even buy the standard 2.0 engine and not the turbo. It s more affordable and still more powerful than other small crossovers. Thank you

I am a 'driver' with over 55 years on and off the road in everything from 18 wheelers and highly modified mustangs to Nodwells. I own a 2019 'Trend' with the 1.6 L AWD and love it! I live in western Canada where AWD is welcome in winter. This is a compact SUV so you're not going to enjoy the spaciousness of a Tuscon but there is plenty of room for my wife, our 30 lb dog and me to travel comfortably even on long trips which was an important feature for us. I did spend a hundred bucks and sound-proofed the vehicle myself - much improved. Highly recommend if you want a COMPACT SUV.
Thanks for watching, Ray! I'm certainly not declaring the Kona to be some better quality interior materials away from being a premium vehicle, but the plastics Hyundai and sister brand Kia use in their vehicles borders on recycling-bin quality. And it's more than just some trim bits -- I'm talking everything from the dash to the door panels, and even the seat-backs. The inferior quality of the plastics inside really downgrades what's an otherwise outstanding vehicle. Thanks again for watching!
I've looked and couldn't find many that offered higher quality plastics to be honest. They seem to be inline with others in the category. Kona is middle of the pack in cargo space with the seats up and near the top with them down. It can be hard to compare by memory alone. Kona does have more performance (HP/TrQ) than any other offered in it's category not including premium brands of course. The 2.0 is line with the rest, 1.6T leaves them all behind.
Tech Pappee Thanks for watching and for the comments! While it’s true that cheap plastics are common in this class of vehicle, there are some out there that are superior; the Subaru Crosstrek, for example. In terms of cargo room, the 1,296 L with the seats folded is actually among the least in the segment. The 544 L with them up is in line with competitors, but much less than what’s in the Elantra GT. Finally, when it comes to output, you’re right - the 1.6T is at the top. In fact, only the optional engine in the Jeep Renegade offers more torque. Thanks again for watching!

Really good AWD system, plenty of features, outstanding warranty, 32 mpg, and contrary to this review my 6'1 frame fits into the car with room to spare. Also unlike this reviewer I don't sit in my car and touch the plastic so...who cares how it feels...it looks fine.

I have been a loyal Hyundai user from last 17 years but when the enigne on my Elantra developed the piston slap and was denied the replacement, Hyundai just lost me forever. I believe the 2.0l engine in Kona still suffered from same problems. No more Hyundai from now onwards
I really like mine. :) It's a nice mid-sized vehicle with AWD. My back also needs something with more of an upright seat than sportier cars and this was perfect. It performs much better than my old 2006 Focus did in all aspects. I even get around 50% better fuel economy despite it being a much heavier vehicle.

For Canada, 2.0L Luxury is the best trim. All the livability options without the extra BS from a small turbo engine and flaky DCT (us Canadians like to keep our cars past 7+ years of ownership). Turbo engine is not the best powertrain to highlight a very capable AWD system. The 2.0L 6spd transmission can climb Toronto core's steepest hills at 1500rpm, in fresh snow, with no slip.. I own the 2021 Luxury and backup Camera is almost 4k quality...best I've ever seen in any car. Also suspension dampening for 2021 seems better then 2020 model. Given the quality of Kona's chassis, I suspect Hyundai will continue to improve on this car as it ages.

My husband is 6 feet tall and he loves driving the Kona. The interior is nowhere as bad as the reviewer makes it seem. Anyway, car preferences are very subjective.
Exactly! The Aztek was and has to be one of the most horrendous looking cars I have ever seen aside from the Ford Taurus. Thank god it's been discontinued.

And the boot space is 361, not 544 how you said. You got your facts wrong from autodata.net. Be more careful next tine you review a car!
Ali Fatehy The information referenced regarding cargo room, etc. comes from Hyundai Canada, not a third-party website. Thanks for watching!
@@danilika9420 i don t know from where You got IT, but IT s wrong. The boot space is 361.
Matches his “sweet” vest
I think the Kona looks good. The Aztec was ugly from the get go. Like you say, looks are subjective. ;)
Admit it! You don't like the Kona, even if so very many do. Chacun à son goût.
Headroom is a problem because you’re in a vehicle with a sunroof. Exterior styling is fine. No, I don’t own one.
This guy is a farmer!
MOLAROIS MORAIS This is the best comment I’ve ever received on one of my videos! Thanks for watching!
Always showing Top of the Line models...
Truly a shame,
It's too small even for someone 5'11".
It feels like you're looking out of the absolute top of the windshield with the seat all the way to the floor.
I liked the gt feel, and the interior styling, although the interior felt extremely cheap.
No thanks.
My husband is 6 feet tall and he loves driving the Kona. The interior is nowhere as bad as the reviewer makes it seem. Anyway, car preferences are very subjective.
You cannot compare this design to the Aztek. That was an ugly car. This one is decent looking and not even in the same league.
Exactly! The Aztek was and has to be one of the most horrendous looking cars I have ever seen aside from the Ford Taurus. Thank god it's been discontinued.
Way to expensive in Canada specially for such a small crossover.
this is a perfect car for my wife.
32k is more than a limited 2.0 crosstrek
Hi, Eli. In Canada, the top-of-the-line Crosstrek Limited with EyeSight is priced at $33,895 before freight and fees. Thanks for watching!
That's not 2020, that's the 2018/19.
It’s garbage. Had a 2019 and transmission already had a transmission replaced. Engine knocks.
The Tucson 2.4 is the way to go
What the hell is he talking about compared to it's rivals the Kona exterior looks really unique and great . Sorry but Dislike
why the fuck are people hating on the design?
Hyundai one of the best design but not the engine
cedieboy 0-60 in 6.3 - Cheers
At this price i can buy toyota which feels really good comparison to this cheap plastic.
Which Toyota?
I would never buy an ICE Kona, but I'd drive the EV variant.
Competitive but way overpriced for this tiny car.
suzuki sx4 but 2020 tech lol

Broooo this is the most negative review...get a new job pls
DON"T BUY Kona. It's been engineered for rodents to sit on the engine and chew wires. I paid a bill of $1100 for my new Kona 2020 purchased 2 months back.
Kamesh Rao despicable bobble liar hm
@@khj4802 How much did Hyundai pay you? $1, alcohol...
Clean up your place and get rid of the rats!
@@willyestrada5396 I did, sir. You would understand my issue if you open the hood and look at Kona and other cars. The rat's have perfect space and luxury in Kona.
Must had a lot rats around for that to happen never heard of this ! Lol don’t buy cause of rodents get rid of them first 🙄
Never buy a hyundai if you value your money and sanity.
Cargo space is lacking.
Bullcrap!
@@Stephoya Have fun with your hyundai.
Just replaced my 2012 Elantra for the Kona. Never had a single problem with my Elantra. Just maintained it well.
You're telling me a compact suv is lacking cargo space. Well I'll be damned. Bet you're gonna say a convertible also lacks cargo space.
