ABOUT GOOD GIRLS
When we last saw Beth, she had just shot Rio as he was beating up Agent Turner. Now that he's out of the picture, she's ready to run the game and stay in control. The women take on seemingly innocent jobs - Beth in a stationary store, Ruby in a nail salon and Annie as a valet - each with a special purpose to aid them in their new criminal enterprise. What happens as they expand their operation will have a ripple effect with their families. Meanwhile, Stan's taken a job in security at a strip club and Dean is working sales at a spa company. From Executive Producer Jenna Bans ("Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal") comes the third season of this comedy-infused drama that mixes a little "Thelma & Louise" with a bit of "Breaking Bad." The cast includes Christina Hendricks, Retta, Mae Whitman, Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Isaiah Stannard and Matthew Lillard.

Beth always thinks she can operate like a criminal without turning into one. This is the part Beth needs to see. She can’t avoid it and she never thinks things all the way through. She needs to have blood on her hands and Rio was never going to kill her or let her go but he’s still going to make her pay for shooting him. I can’t believe how naive she still is, they all are... they’re a part of Rio’s gang, have been for a LONG time, and he’s ALWAYS been the boss. He’s going to initiate them sooner or later. They need to be in on the violence to be ANY part of a violent street gang.
The way I see it, the show has always been setting Beth up to be the "king". I never bought into it because the show has been telling me not showing me why she deserves to be a big crime boss. She wants to keep the moral high ground And make herself feel better by not hurting anyone. Lucy's death should show her that crime is going to get people hurt regardless. So far they've been getting away with how crime affects the family life but now we have an actual dead person who had nothing to do with it.

raven harris I couldn’t believe that they kidnapped the bird. I thought they were going to kidnap the boyfriend but Beth still sees herself as a mother and not a criminal because they sold normal people pills and they only laundered money at big box stores and they did not technically kill Boomer, they didn’t at all but they didn’t know that until later on, they only threw away the body. So they don’t realize they crossed the line a long time ago, they still think they have one foot across it. SMH.

He went into the house and showed force for it, he didn’t ask for it nicely! The girls have been in a violent gang for a while and avoided the violence because Rio did it for them, he’s done doing this for Beth after she showed her violent side to him and why should he? Beth wanted it. She got it.

Me too...my mouth was dropped wide this episode.I read/heard somewhere that this episode was going to be the darkest episode of this season.I think it was a synopsis I read that said that.That was no lie,it was dark,I was so shocked.However,I like that Rio was showing Beth and the girls he is not playing,this is some serious s**t they are messing with.They cant just keep screwing him over or being involved in this business and not getting their hands dirty.
If you mess with his money or his business you put yourself on the gat list.That thing he was always telling them and beth,about a rotten egg,its no lie.You saw that with Turner AND mary pat for that matter.As a matter of fact,everyone that Rio has told Beth was the rotten egg.You cant talk the rotten egg out of being a rotten egg.Leopards dont change their spots.Rio is smart and knows what hes talking about,he has never been wrong about anything he has said or told beth.He was right about Dean not being trustworthy as well.

I mean, they have been working for Rio for a while now and he’s always shielded them from the violence but when Beth shot him she showed him it was time to stop. This was inevitable. Rio is not morally wrong yes but in the show beth is not better than him in terms of actions, he has always been violent since episode one of season one, it is a gang leader who kills mercilessly, and you don't leave a gang easily and you don't try to kill your boss without having repercussions, his actions are completely normal and the girls can only take it out on herself as he says if you want to become king you have to kill the king and as long as they don't do it , they always be under his orders because they asked to work with his gang in first.

Rio kills Lucy because shes the ONLY one that can make the plate. Now that Rio has the a copy of that plate, he’s back in “charge” so he kills Lucy. Also Beth proves her point that rio still needs them because they know how to make the money. BUT I’m sure Rio knows that, he’s smart. HOWEVER!!!!! Dean cuts ONE copy of the plate. Isn’t there TWO?! I hate how they got poor innocent Lucy involved, it was ruthless. I get that dean is tryna protect his kids but doesn't he get he makes things only worse. Beth tries too hard to keep everyone happy at the expense of her own happiness and coming out of denial of who she is. Rio sees it, and forces the proverbial mirror to shine right in her face. Now this lesson for them should be to not involve anyone in Rio's business. At least I think that's the message Rio's trying to driving home. I think Rio still sees that Beth is not only the brains but the leader of the group, and she needs to see him for what he is.
He has no issue killing Beth's Sister or their friend, and I'm pretty sure he was going to. Beth is ensuring that she can keep her sister and friend in line, but in the past they've had issues managing people under them. (Like they did in season 1 with the neighborhood housewives and marry-pat trying to cut corners to make more profit)

As much as I love Beth and Rio, I don’t think they ever getting back to the way they were. Beth shot him and he planned on killing her, the only reasons Beth is alive is because
1.) She’s smart
2.) It’s a game for Rio
3.) He needs her
Rio is also smart and despite the fact that they had something, he won’t let her get the upper hand on him again. He doesn’t love her, and she only loves the thrill of being with him. If the show were to end it would either end with him dead or something along the lines of that.

I agree, I don't see a happy ending for Beth and Rio. I can't see it ending with them in love and happy. While there's a strong undercurrent of sexual attraction between them and I do believe Rio has some sort of feelings for Beth, I don't believe it's love but more of a soft spot. I mean, gang friend has let her get away with too dang much with very little repercussions (until Lucy) to deny that much. I'll never forget her throwing the keys at his face and how he just let her walk away. Not to mention the many, many times she has messed up and fallen through on deals unscathed.
This season, the dynamic isn't quite the same because there's no way he's just going to forget her shooting him 3 times and leaving him for dead. I'm eager to see what path the writers will choose to go, I just hope it makes sense to the characters.

I’m beginning to get frustrated by this show. I’m sorry but Beth and the girls are responsible for Lucy’s death just as much as Rio. They tricked her into the life and she became collateral as a result.

Thank goodness this clip was online. My stupid local programming cut to "news update" commercial MID-SEGMENT for about seven seconds. Those seven seconds made me miss what happened in between.
Even though Rio is flawed it’s hard for me to place the blame on him because all along the way he has been telling the truth/warning Beth with things like, “this is not a game” “you mess up you die or go to jail” “you are a drug dealer, that’s who you are” “you’re not going to be nothing till you get your house in order” “you want to somethin somethin so bad but you don’t want to get your hands dirty” (I don’t remember all the exact words, but you get it). Beth is smart, but she’s messy and meddling in a world she knows very little about. She should have been more of a teammate to Rio. Instead she betrayed him. I can’t see where this thing is headed but I sure do wish we could get back to the flirty early days before people were getting shot 😭

Everytime I see Dean I cringe and think to myself he is so TRASH. Why is he still alive? 🤷♀️ Rio is a straight savage this episode. He reminded the girls he is not to be played with and this is not a game. He has always been about securing his bag. So... once he got what he needed from Lucy, like a smart business man he tied up a clear loose end. And at the same time tortured Beth in the process. We all know Beth would willing sacrifice herself to save those she cares about. So.... what better way to get back at her for coming for his neck than by killing someone as sweet and innocent as Lucy.

Rio is never gonna kill Beth. If he does. End of the show. This is what I see. Even though Rio got real mad when Beth shot him 3x. He’s kinda patiently showing Beth how to handle things. Beth: Are you going to kill me? Rio: I'm gonna teach you. Also Rio: now let me give you some advice, yeah? When you got a rotten egg in the bunch, it stinks up the whole lot till you get rid of it. Beth: when does it end? Rio: it's over when you finish it.

Second, these are problems that the women start and he cleans up because they don’t think of themselves as criminals when that’s what they are and even that part, Rio didn’t start. Rio was doing just fine, I am sure just thinking about how big his OG money operation was way back when, but then Beth, Ruby, and Annie robbed him. And then they stiffed him. Yet, he was going to let them do one job and be done and he did! Beth left her strand of pearls on his door and ASKED for more. I don’t see how Beth thought she could be a part of a violent street gang without the violence eventually becoming a part of her life, too. I don’t see this as on Rio.

I don't know what makes you think Rio has any moral problem with killing anybody. Lucy wasn't going to ever work for him in earnest, and you can't really trust her not to slip up and confide in someone just because she said she wouldn't. She was a loose end, and his interest is that no one who's not a part of this knows anything. And he killed the detective even though he saved his life; he's not a sentimental guy. As for Dean, well, he just wants his family to be safe and his wife to stop doing crime.

It wasn’t necessary. He hadn’t any reasons to kill her. He might be a part of gang and doing illegal things but killing an completely innocent person.. I think it’s too much. I don’t like the season 3 and if I had written the scenario I think it would be way better than this.
The writers of this show just dont care. They now how much people love Rio, but instead they shove Dean down our throats. No one cares and I also dont care for his back story. Now they are tryng so hard to villify Rio but for me it makes no sense. Yes we always knew he was a bad guy but its now like you dont have any other bad guy like Mary pat, boomer or turner anymore, so you just shove that to Rio, I am just so done.
Totally agree. He was always a PG-13 criminal; even his drug dealing was with black market cholesterol drugs! He went full on sociopath in this episode and it just seemed extreme. It's like the writers don't know what to do with him. In season two he's sending children's blankets and in this season he's killing some poor girl who seems like she's on the autism spectrum at point blank range? Unless they pull off some epic storylines, I think this was the first nail in the coffin of this show.
