Sorry, rules are rules. If you can inflict status effects on bosses it's automatically a good RPG.

I love this game. I know it's very imperfect, to say the least, but I still love it.

I love that you say that we can see that SNESdrunk did not went far in the game. He's not the authority on all games type. The way you speak about your games in your RPG series, I know that you know what's you are talking about. I like your speciality.

Asking the dynamo to invade... lol, it's Daimyo.

  • @BleachCowboy2016

I can't believe so many of you people in the comments have played this game before 😂

the only bad part about this video is pronouncing "Daimyo" "Dynamo". But that's a nitpick. Great video.

Owned, played, and loved it when it came out, still own it today (complete) .... Always loved my JRPGs. Guess that makes my name "no one" Didnt mention the gambling game, or getting to lvl 7 before leaving the first dungeon (changes the story), or the fact that you wouldn't want a time skip because you only have so many years in game to beat it, or you age out and lose =) (yes, you cannot do everything in this game in one playthrough, you get to old to win)

"If only I had one more trust in you." I feel that on a deep level.

I absolutely loved this game (and Uncharted Waters New Horizons) when I was a kid. 30 years later I still have a soft sport fit both of these.

This was a childhood classic for me. So good! Yes it has many flaws but the gameplay was superior for RPGs of it's time. If u haven't played this one yet it's worth trying it out. One of my favorite games of all time for SNES

"Cheesing the AI and using underhanded methods" is playing the spirit of a ninja. Good RP!

The battle music is actually one of my favorite battle themes. I've played it since high school and have absolutely had a blast every time. Especially because of the randomness of the npcs and the strategy map evolution.

I had this as a kid. The things I remember most are Tateoka and Otowano (buds for life until you can recruit Hanzo), and the history of ninjas section of the manual. As a kid who loved ninjas, that thing was like my bible.

I will respectfully fight you (over this game). This is one of the most creative SNES games ever. A CIB at Gamestop cost 5 dollars in 2004 and it probably costs less now haha but this game is fantastic it has quirks. But I am so confident in this game, I posted this before a minute into this.

i actually did play this game once, i rented it as a kid from a local rental store (not blockbuster, just some individual vhs/videogame rental place). played it a few times, couldn't get very far in it, returned it.

Man, I'm really glad you played and beat this game. I will play this one day but I need to wait until I have the patience. Great video dude.

This game was cool back when it was new. I loved the recurring system and sneaking into castles.

The MSX version has different characterization for some of the characters (particularly the second to last boss). The battle view is from behind the characters as opposed to the side. The battle sprites are more detailed, though there is only one background (all black, much like the original Final Fantasy). Finally, there is more musical variety. The training dungeons in the MSX version have different dungeon music as well as a different battle theme. The only dungeon music you hear in the SNES version is only used in the opening cave as well as the optional dungeons in the MSX version. Also, there is a unique dungeon theme in the cave to Mt. Hiei, which is considerably more epic than the same old dungeon theme used in the SNES version. Overall, they did a mediocre job when porting this game to the SNES, and the sound chip was used horribly. (Edit to add: Forgot to mention that the war battles are a little different. The battle map is zoomed in and Blaze spreads out across four tiles as opposed to three. I can't speak for the other spells since that's the only one I used in the battles)
