Kevin Durant's lack of strength was a big problem for him when he first came in the league. He used to get mauled by bigger, stronger players. He's definitely worked on his strength. I watched an interview where he bench pressed 315lbs pretty easily. You can't survive in any pro league being physically weak. You'd be hard pressed to find any player in the league bench pressing less than 300lbs.
You realize that video was a joke right? It’s fake weights. And “hard to find players that bench less than 300lbs” is complete bullshit. Do you realize how heavy 300lbs is? Do you see how skinny players like Kevin Durant are? I doubt that there aren’t many if any guards that can bench 300lbs
Dude ur an idiot. NBA isnt about weight strength. It's about length, endurance, and coordination. KD is not benching 300+, which is fine because it's unnecessary for his craft.
@@BreadVanVleet I'm not basing my comments on this video. I'm basing them on the comments I've seen from from NBA veterans and what I've read. I'm not saying you have to be the Incredible Hulk to be a pro but I'm willing to bet there's nobody in the NBA who's benching 185lbs. If strength wasn't an important factor in sports, organizations wouldn't invest so much in strength and conditioning coaches. Even Michael Jordan had to gain alot of strength to improve his game on the NBA level. If strength wasn't important, the top tier players wouldn't invest the time or money in it. I'm not saying strength is the only factor in success but it is an important one.
@@nathanielrobinson173 yeah but NBA strength has nothing to do with bench press. That's all upper body. NBA strength is about positioning, hip strength and fluidity, as well as balance. But it's because of his stability on screens and positioning on rebounds that makes him a brick wall.
