Well these pills do exist since years already and are sometimes used. As a doctor I don’t like them because you’ll have to watch hours of footage while being very focused. The pills currently on the market cost about 800$. The whole point about this pillbot startup is making this cheaper and more affordable. Instead of 800$ just 50-100$
As someone who's about to under endoscopic treatment for Barretts oesophagus, I found this very intriguing. Oh, if it was only a little fantastic voyage type submarine doing the treatment, instead of the whole endoscopic snake.
My Gastroenterologist: "GET DOWN ON THE FAWKING GROUND NOW! FETAL POSITION NOW!" *15 minutes Later* "Yeah, everything looks good, you're all set." Me: Did you really have to yell at me?" Gastroenterologist: "I like to get into character."
Agreed! It is an exciting time as all these technologies develop in parallel, and I think it will be extremely cool to see if any of them collaborate! We’d love to play matchmaker. 💘
Wouldn't it be simpler to remove all the mechanical jets and have two wide-angle cameras instead, one on each end, and then stabilize the footage via software?
Definitely simpler! There are products just like that already on the market, actually. This one’s main advantage is that it can be piloted live so it can check out features that might not be easily visible otherwise.
1:14 I think that is Go that they're writing. I turned the resolution all the way up but the depth of the camera field makes it very fuzzy. I think I see functions defined with func and a vague Golang logo
In 1966 they made a movie called “Fantastic Voyage” ! They shrunk a full size submarine and shrank it to Nano size and did surgery to save a person’s life. It starred Raquel Welch
It's a great movie! We tried to squeeze in a reference to it and Osmosis Jones as well, but we were past our limit of pop culture references for this episode. Thanks for watching!
@@NickFromHardReset how about "once upon a time: life". a bit more obscure maybe (especially outside of europe) but that show was my childhood obsession
Wow! Awesome! Can the footage of the pilbot be recorded for dr's consultation? You swallow one in the morning and the doctor receives the video at the end of the day?
About that long ago I read about PillCam, asked doc if we could do a colonoscopy that way, she said "sure, if we had the PC software to go with it" ??!! I'll bet the big insurance companies called it 'experimental' so wouldn't cover it, (was supposedly cheaper than a colonoscopy)......how logical (sarcasm intended)
@陈哲轩-t2m fair point but easier solution to tracking with literally any methotd than fighting the battery problem. Even using a large or many small coils is still outside the body. In this case batteries just seem like the easy answer not the right one.
I needed something that would stand out against the background, and something safe and available. I have about a million Lego heads laying around, so …

How is it extracted out? And it will only be able to do stomach digestive till anus journey which is fine also but most important are heart arena with its veins arteries or maybe entire circulation system for blockages can that be done? Maybe sometimes in future, nice actually I am sure lot of other things can be done in future like keeping arteries veins free of build up the main reason of strokes heart attacks and of course cleansing of other organs it’s amazing to know how complex human body inside built is
$35 worth of hardware, the medical industrial establishment will charge 3500 for it
You are the man who know the medical establishment.
Good thing it's a small startup who holds the patent, then, and calls the shots.

Yup.
Yup
....THE LEGO?
Yeah 😂
What's the story behind that😂🕵️
@@Neoflares it seemed like a good idea at the time!
Did you swallow a lego just to have something to look at? thats too funny! Great episode! 👏🏻
I always keep something interesting in there, just in case a camera robot comes along. Thanks for watching!
@@NickFromHardReset See mom, 5-year-old did it for this reason.
@@NickFromHardReset no seriously, did you actually eat a lego?
@ Actually, I ate a few to make sure that we’d see one on the bot.
@ but also, DON’T DO THIS AT HOME.
¡Gracias!
The beginning of real nanobots
4:17 "YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYES!"

that moment reminds me of fireflies

Very interesting, good work, I hope it becomes a success guys!
Real missed colonoscopy joke opportunity when he said ‘no ifs, ands, or BUTTS’
5:50 guys they were cooking 😭
Ms. Frizzle would be so proud of this.

Pair this with Alpha Fold’s protein folding and creating medicine that fit perfectly to your receptors - the possibilities are endless
i see a big bright future for nanobots
Wow what a working environment this is what we need
Awesome Shelby, show off! Awesome technology, can't wait
I watched Adam savage do this and was like uh did they clean it first? Turns out it's a new bot everytime. So cool
Imagine pillbot + wiR. ( Both companies were screened by you)

Innerspace was a great movie! One of Quaid’s best
Osmosis Jones mixed with The magic school bus 👍🏻
5:47 bro really said they were cooking with the robot 🤣💀
Wow i think this is my favorite video of this channel

We are paving the way for PillSurgeon, so 3D motion is central to our mission.
Not that anyone would want to, but how many times could you take the same pillbot before it malfunctions or dissolves?
the founder mentioned they aim for disposable single use, which makes sense from a safety point of view
Yeah. I retrieved mine - even after a VERY THOROUGH cleaning, I’d never use it again.

Fascinating watch!
Agreed, this was way more interesting than I thought it would be.
I used a camera pill 15 years ago. It needed a fanny pack for data storage.

I’d buy stock in this.
wireless power delivery is very important now
can these be used to inspect plumbing pipes, after a medical inspection is done could someone use this to inspect the plumbing in the sewers
hmmm now i can see what's going on in my noisy water pipe? or maybe finding my water pipe leak?
Mirocam has had this for literally years.
poor lego
Wierd that the algorithm seems to hate this vid
Sooooo just a thought... Don't use a battery! Just use wireless charging tech.
That's right, but the wireless charging technology couldn't charge effectively in multiple direction.

Talk about ingesting microplastic…
I hope it's one use only... I dont want to imagine reusing it
could make microbots from big hero six
Excellent idea i need it practical sooner
nice tech instantly thought of magic school bus
Just throw them on one of those carnival 360 gyroscope thingies, better than rolling on the floor.
But rolling on the floor is FUN!
How do they come out, that's my question?
The old fashioned way :-)

Cool 😎 🆒️ 😊😅😮🎉
Nick!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I hope they aren't reusable, dont know if I could stomach that! 1st one is pillbot 2nd one is poopbot
What about Fantasic Voage.
What if it get digested
Well, it doesn’t get digested like food - it won’t break down in your body. However, it does, uh, take the whole route through to the end.

WHY DID YOU SWALLOW A LEGO HEAD????
It’s not even close to the strangest thing I’ve done for science!
I really need it.
Another dub of a video
Why did you eat a Lego? 😭😭😭
I needed something that would stand out against the background, and something safe and available. I have about a million Lego heads laying around, so …
I'm 2 minutes in and I'm thinking to myself. How are they going to get it out?Just drive it out the butt?
Once they’ve seen enough inside your stomach, they send a code to disable the bot and it turns off. Then, yeah, it just goes “out the back door.”
Very very cool
Edible? Just because you can swallow it and it doesn't kill you does not make it edible, if it did pebbles would be classed as edible.
I'm reminded of the Terry Pratchett quote "All Fungi are edible. Some fungi are only edible once."
It's biocompatible. Google what it means.
Integrate AI into it. Hurry before someone else does Pillbot.
HOWW TO GET IT OUTTT

Lame. Just make it a 360 cam and drop the jets.
