Both Frigates I served on (1977-81) had the SH-2's deployed with us. I was a Sonar Technician, and we used the helos to help track Soviet subs during the Cold War. They were equipped with remote sonar buoys and dipping sonar, magnetic resonance, and could also carry Anti-Submarine weapons. Unlike surface vessels, this ASW platform was virtually invisible to enemy subs. I SALUTE the Pilots, who could take off and land on the very small flight decks of those Knox Class Frigates!
Not these ... probably had SH-2 SeaSprite, in the 80's as the SH-2Gs Super SeaSprite didn't enter service till service in the US till 1991. The RNZN helos were newly built-in 2000-03 classified as SH-2G(NZ) had upgrade bits and bobs with slightly different avionics (we did have an interim SH-2F Seasprites till the new ones arrived) In 2015/16 we bought the SH-2G(A) redesignated SH-2G(I) with zeroed out air frames and completely new modern avionics with glass cockpit and upgraded turbines etc
Forestry music for the flamethrower put a flamethrower on the helicopter worked well with the flamethrower we didn't have to worry about a damn thing drop water on a fire or frame so it burned it had so it has no oxygen
Entire rockets also we have smoke rockets we had a flare gun on the side just in case we had a 22 handgun 23 rounds a Ruger or a side 9 mm on the side with everyone just in case we got in a little fire with pirates player games work well anytime missile radar jamming device all the way up to a Time flare guns for heat seeking missiles or a good old aluminum pack throughout the back aluminum packs with flares
Photo recon for the helicopter lot of photos we took out the power lines and used it for the power line company with CVS lawn equipment we would haul with it all the way up to farming spraying it's all purpose helicopter minute back a good metabolic helicopter mash unit
