How beautiful. I have spent the last 6 thanksgivings completely alone. Well I usually have a dog. In 2022 my dog died early November. I would love to accidentally meet some nice people who would enjoy coming over and cooking with me .
Tell a Pastor or priest to announce at Mass that you yearn for companionship and I bet you will meet good genuine souls to makefriends with.. Best of luck.
Come to my house if you’re in SW Michigan
I’m in Pittsburgh and you are welcome to come to my house!!
I will like to meet new friends
I’m in New York you are always welcome
I cannot believe it’s coming up on year 8!! This story will always be newsworthy every year.
They’re mom & son how sweet of their friendship. They’re both wonderful human being. Spread love God Bless You Both!
Sadly you apparently don't know the story. They are not related. Maybe you should listen again...
Definitely bonking!
@@larryressler5438 I think she means their relationship is like that of a mother and son, even if they're not related.
@@larryressler5438 She mentioned the part about them being friends which means she meant they're LIKE mother and son. Not that they actually are.
@Larry Ressler maybe you should listen
Jamal is such a great guy!! I can just see the true genuine in him. I’m so glad they both met! Definitely family!!
I don't think it was an accident that she sent him a text, I think an angel guided these two families together to form this bond.
There's an expression in one of the eastern American Indian tribal languages. Roughly translated, it means, "No meeting is by chance."
Amen Amen
It's not just friendship...it's love.
What do you mean ❓
BBC?
Friendship is love.
absolutely. It’s beautiful to see.
It's family ❤
What a wonderful story of kindness and acceptance. An accidental mother and son. If only we could all emulate this love….
My best buddy is an 80 something year old white woman. I'm a 40 year old black woman. We were enemies initially 😅
I worked at a retirement community in activities. She was a reluctant yet judgemental resident while I was a sassy free spirit. She thought I was a dingbat but boy was she wrong. I thought she was a vitriolic shrew but boy was I wrong. We are so similar. We're soul mates. We can talk for hours. She so classy and brilliant yet down-to-earth. Our conversations range from Shakespeare to Politics to Music to who said what.
I'm truly blessed to have L.K. as my best friend.
I've come across this story so many times over the years and I love it so much.
The story that keeps on giving!
Cannot get tired of this story, may God continue to strengthen this friendship.
The story reached Norway too, bless them both! 🥰🥰🙏❤️
How fun! I love hearing about it.
I just love this, and I love the annual update. I’m so sorry for the loss of her husband, but I’m so happy how everyone has remained family, connected, unified.
It is so great to see something so positive and happy in a world that is in such a sad state. It gives you hope.
That’s why so many people don’t have friends today. People are always trying to put a face on what their friend network is supposed to look like. People are just so much more complicated than our outwardly appearances.
I love that it’s been 7, going on 8 years already. They both seemed like they needed someone outside their circle, and they happened to find someone with a good heart. It’s so sweet.
This is such a touching story! No boundaries in generation, age, status, race have kept them apart to become friends! Both were accepting and kind that propelled to an extra ordinary kind of friendship... 😊
In a world filled with hate, I’m reminded of this wonderful friendship. It takes the sting out of what is going on. I absolutely love this friendship. May it last forever.
They give us hope in this world!! Much needed, thank you!!
This has to be one of the greatest mistakes every !!
I, of course , remember this story form when it started! I love it! Makes me want to invite myself over! :) I give huge shout-out to this reporter and how this video was done and edited. The touch of a few seconds of silence at the end !!! Brilliant! We have so much noise in our lives just the photo and silence is wonderful!
I love that Jamal was brave enough to ask if he could still come to Thanksgiving, once he realized he was the accidental grandson, and I love that Wanda said yes. I'm a confirmed fan of both. I wasn't alone to feel sad when Lonnie died. Those of us who kept up with them all felt the same way, I am sure. Aside from Lonnie's sad passing, though, this story borders on being a real life fairy tale. I wish Wanda every happiness in her new home, and I never had any question about year eight. None of us did. We can all see that this loving relationship is forever.
I just can’t believe that he went back 7 times!!!! This story makes me smile Bc I can still remember when the mix up happened!
What if these two are soulmates? Soulmates do not always mean romantic.
Exactly. It’s like they knew each other in another life
I think so. They make me smile.
Naw, she wildin’!
Just a reminder to keep your mind open and accept people for who they are no matter who they are. I love that this story is still continuing and evolving.
I love all these people. They restore my faith in humanity. All beautiful. So nice. Sad the man got Covid before he could have a shot. Happy Thanksgiving anyway. The whole story made me feel less lonely. A few tears too.
I remember when this came out and then an update when her husband passed away its good to see them still having a remarkable friendship
We all need more of stuff like this.❤❤❤❤❤
This is the best story of friendship and truly loving and caring for another person. I love it every time I see it.
I love this story. I hope this continues years to come.
Love this story.... we need more of these stories...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Suzie
How are you doing today?
This makes my heart smile with so much joy!!! 🥰❤️
This is one of most beautiful stories ever… I remember the first story 7 years ago! God bless all these beautiful people 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰🥰🥰
This is one of the most beautiful stories ever!
This story could never get old.
This is not only super-sweet but hilarious looking at the text where he writes, "Grandma? Send a picture". You guys should do another story describing what happened after that. Did she send him a pic??? If so, what did he say that must have prompted her to invite him for dinner even after she found out he wasn't her Grandson. I love stories like this featuring kindness & humanity. God bless them both & their families. ❤🙏🏾❤
If we had millions of ppl in this world like them two, the world would be a so much better place!
I always love stories like these. I've spent the last 8 Thanksgiving, 8 Christmases, 7 new years, and three birthdays alone... I've longed to find my people. Hopefully soon.
I'm rootin' for ya!! 😊
It hurt my heart reading this. Where do you live (state, not address, I'm not a creep lol)
Just beautiful
Jamal and Wanda share a beautiful friendship, they share something rare and oh so wonderful. It truly was a blessing in disguise when Wanda accidentally texted him instead of her actual grandson. I for one don't think it was an accident, things happen for a reason. May them and their families be blessed with many more wonderful years here.🙏🏾🧡
I remember when the first story of them getting together came out on CNN. I’m so glad they maintained their relationship. What a great story!
I’ve been following this story every year on thanksgiving and I love this. Her mistake and his hungry brought them together lol I love it
crying. such a beautiful story...
This is such a awesome story.
I remember this.❤❤❤Wonderful
This Proves that texting the wrong person can lead to a Lifetime of Friendship!!❤❤❤🎉🎉
It's very rare that strangers become good friends. I've heard many stories and have experienced my own toxic friendships that I am no longer a part of. This story touches my heart and gives me hope for humanity.
To the whole world…..see, we can all get along, if we choose to!
God bless this beautiful FAMILY! ❤️🙏
My mom still uses an egg timer in the kitchen, when she's baking or cooking. Mom's still 65 until December, so I'm not surprised to see one still in use.
What a beautiful story. So many lessons can be learned from this.
That is one nice looking young man! He was clearly raised right.
Love him!!! This is how it should be. Everyone getting along, and peace n love
This will always be one of my very favorite stories EVER!!! God bless...
What a cool follow up. I remember reading about the text exchange when it first happened ❤
What a great and wonderful relationship. God Bless you all.
I recall this story how it started, and it warms me up that these families still rock together.❤
Beautiful friendship! Inspiring!❤❤
Live and friendship knows no color. Great!❤
I love this story so much and every time I come across it; it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's like there IS hope for humanity and it's a beautiful thing :)
Such a beautiful story God bless both of you

Hello
How are you doing today?
This is an amazing story and I hope that more people would open their hearts just like this ❤❤❤
I really, really, liked this story. What a great way for me to start my day. ❤
Love this. Love them both.
Wow keep a hold of that beautiful friendship that's becoming with you guys❤
Sweet friendship, sweet life. Blessed people.
My dad also passed in 2020 from Covid.
Here’s to those wonderful souls! 🍻🙏
Sorry, for the loss of your dad.
This story reminds me of my international student days in lewiston, idaho, where a couple of families opened their home to us students for thanksgiving. I am still in touch, though by and by for the last decade, with one family - thats a friendship since 1985/86.
I love this SO MUCH!! I wish more people would be like this, makes the world a better place! ❤❤❤
Coming across this story as it grows over the years keeps making me so happy!
Sometimes I watch this story when I’m sad and it ALWAYS makes me smile 😊
I look forward to an update every year! Love this kind of love
An 80 yr old man called an old cleaning add of mine to hire me
I told him I don't take on new jobs, I'm weaning myself out of the biz
He said he wants to hire me, I'm local and independent
He went on to say, it's just him and his dog.
Something clicked in my head. I knew I needed to help him
I cleaned out his dead wife's things from the house, he couldn't do it
She died a yr ago
It took a few days to clean his house, then the job ended
I still visit him once week, he's all alone
He says it means the world to him
I call in between visits, he says that means the moon to him
He's 23 yrs older than me and I really enjoy our visits, he's my friend
I’m so happy that this is still continuing ❤
❤ No words are adequate ❤
God bless you both, a million times over, and then some.
Love this story! I hope Wanda & Jamal can enjoy many more Thanksgiving meals together.
Omg I love these updates with this little family. Yes I bet they consider themselves family, it’s not who you’re born with it’s who you’re unconditionally loving in your life. That should be everyone ❤
We had family who was never related at every holiday table. I love this, this is so sweet!
This is so beautiful to see such loving caring friendships blossom all by an accidentally text message. I have been following this story and I can’t believe it has been 7 years ago.
Oh how I wish our world was like this!! Just awesome how they have both maintained this friendship!
I just love the warmth that came through in those joking comments about the timer on the phone. 🥰
So cute I’ll never forget this story.
I remember this story and it makes me cry every time….Amen 🙏
Such a beautiful story!!!
What a beautiful friendship. God works in mysterious ways, these two show age, race doesn’t matter. Kindness and respect, how we treat each other 💕
I love them! God is so good. He has set up divine appointments for me too. Its such a blessed to love, encourage and bless others. ❤❤❤🙏🏽✝️🤍🤍🤍
Hello Debbie
How are you doing today?
Wonderful!
What a beautiful story, made me she'd tears 😭...
Love this story every year!
This is the world we need friendship and love doesn't have color just 2 people enjoying a friendship. What a blessing to see. Bless you both !!
Great show of friendship
I love their relationship ❤. That’s so amazing how a friendship bloomed with a accidental text
Great job, yall!! I wish everyone would take note here!!
This proves it wasn’t just for social media year 1. This story always makes me smile. Good people all around.
I've followed this family since the first story of the text message and this has been amazing!!!! It's been so regressing to see these two build something so wonderful from one text that was sent to the wrong "right" person! ❤❤❤
Naw, she wildin’!
Beautiful Memories....
Every time I see these two, I always notice how much they both have the most wonderful smile's 😊
I loved this story! I like the updates!
Its sad that a story of two people from different backgrounds becoming friends is news worthy.
I honestly enjoy hearing about this
I think it’s more about how they met and they have grown the friendship
donno .. beats the 'normal' news which is often dark
It better than hearing about a stranger killing another stranger based on fear.
