I loved the way Dom talked about tuning with all his senses rather than just relying on gauges and sensors. I think my father called this mechanical empathy.
Went through a few local tuners before I was sent to Dominic Acia in 2017; Subaru genius who also offers some pretty cool aftermarket parts. Thanks FIT for hosting "Dom"
Man, I could listen to Dom talk all day about tuning. Im very thankful for the short time he was in Cincinnati at Turn In Concepts and got to have some conversations with him. Maybe one day I will have the resources for a DomTune.
Another great guest! My first recollection of Dom was the Dirty MAF sensor thread on Nasioc and how it affects fueling. Seems common knowledge now(I hope), but back then, stuff like that wasn't talked about. Always enjoy hearing the old school talk as well. A good friend also purchased a Ludespeed turbo kit for his 2001 RS, only to have Adam at Z1 Performance blow it up shortly after installing it. Shiv was such a source of knowledge for many of us back then as well. Really great stuff. I am a fan of anyone in the Subaru community that brings simply, well explained knowledge to any converstation, and not the same old regurgitated "facts" that simply are not true. Dom has always been one of them. Looking forward to Part 2. BTW Dom, a 1984 CR500!?! Definitey makes you a man among men, glad you are still with us. LOL.
Thanks for your question. If you aren't using much oil, the the Killer-B Catch Cans would be a great option for your car. They should work well for most street applications for sure. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
I’m gonna say it that avcs makes tuning and driving a Subaru way better and more fun: safer. I ran a turbo rs with a greddy emanage and man it made good power but I blew 22 motors before I went to the 06 st platform with avcs and its so much better.
@@FlatironsTuning well the 06 I know what timing I’m running , with the piggy back the ecm would decide to go to failsafe fueling and for an na ecm that’s like 12.8:1 afr and then timing would jump all over because the piggy back fighting the ecm. The factory ecm that’s open source compatible is for a daily driver the best ecm you can get, highly tunable, still get the oem drivability, but for a race car it could be limiting especially if there is a time limit. While the ecm reflash via tactrix is awesome it’s not real time and you have to flash then log then flash and it’s time consuming, for me being a Subaru finatic, I love dialing in the tune but at a race I could see where it would get annoying when on a haltech you can just press up or down in the load range to get perfect afr and timing . Excited to get my rcm head gaskets this week, you guys rock

Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. It is surprising how much you can detect with your other senses when it comes to cars.

I'm going to be hitting Craig with some new parts in a couple months that'll make his engines even better.
@@GetaDomTune I like it but i also wish i wasn't having a motor built right now then lol.
I think when he pauses before he answers is because he’s searching his data bank. Gotta sift through that wealth of knowledge. Ready for part 2.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. Working on Part 2 now.

Ironically, this 50 minute video is one of the shorter UA-cam videos with Dominic Acia :p

I have a question. Do you think the Killer B catch can for VB would work for a daily with basic bolt on's. ETS TMIC, intake, and charge pipe.
