a precious moment of beauty in singing, the boy soprano is there for a only a few years at most--wonderful!
Glad I found this on Christmas Day as I sit alone. This human voice has broken the silence and, by all that unites us in our humanity, I know I am not alone.
never alone my friend just far away
@Kurt Russell *_Many thanks for your thoughtfulness._*
That was so thoroughly enjoyable, Isaac! That was the solo I sang in 1963 as a member of the Vienna Boys Choir. Hearing you sing it evoked precious and wonderful memories for this seventy-four-year-old man. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May God continue to bless your future!
That is cool! I am in European style boys choir and my choir director previously worked with the Vienna Boys' Choir. Thank you for listening!
GOD has blessed you with a beautiful voice.
Beautifully articulated, every note carefully placed. Artistry at its best. Superb!
What a voice !
Thank you for listening and commenting, Joel!

Thank you so much! Singing with an orchestra was a new experience for me.

Magnifique voix d'enfant, j'adore, toute ma jeunesse de choriste, merci Jōrg. Cordialement depuis la France. Daniel 🤝👏
Merci beaucoup, Daniel 😀
your voice is beautifull and you had learned a lot. Hope to hear more of you. Be blessed
Thank you so much!
Awesome, Isaac! I just heard you sing Ave Maria today....goosebumps!
Thank you so much for coming to the concert! I hope to post an Ave Maria video soon. Thanks for the kind words!
I want to cry 😢thank you for sharing
Thank you for listening.
This piece, which Isaac sings wonderfully, brings to mind how classical composers would exploit the sound of a boy soprano to elicit strong emotions in the adults in the audience. Bach, who was very familiar with boy singers, regularly did it with great effect in his cantatas and passions. "Zerfleisse, mein Herze" from the St. John's Passion is one example, and "Letzte Stunde, brich herein" from Cantata BWV 31 is another.
Great performance. Wonderful job.
Thank you for the kind words!
Am I the only one praying that this little angel is Catholic? His musical command over the language of the Mother Church pays a fitting homage. If you've not heard his rendition of Ave Marie yet, you must go and listen. It is absol;utely the best version of the over 120 versions I now house in my collection.
Wow, thank you so much Timothy. Yes, I am Catholic. The Ave Maria solo is one of the first solos I learned. I originally learned to sing it for my uncle's wedding, and I have had the opportunity to sing it at concerts, funerals and at Mass.
@@isaaczachman Good Lord Isaac. You've made me cry!! It's one thing to grow up Catholic - I didn't. I use to be anti-Catholic. But when I tried to write a book against the faith, I got turned around. I converted and have never looked back - it is the single most real thing in my life. Now your beautiful voice has even more meaning for me. I wonder if you can imagine at your tender age how incredibly loved you are by Heaven? When you sing, the Blessed Virgin, our Queen, comes out from her ivory palace to listen. She hushes all the celestial choirs and says, "you all listen now - this young boy is going to show you how it's done." And Jesus Himself stands up and applauds. Stay true to your gift, Isaac - and above all - stay true to your faith. It is more real than you could ever imagine.
@@timmykeilnkathyshingler1433 That is fascinating! What made you change your mind about the Catholic faith?
@@isaaczachman Well, there was once a great Bishop - this was before you were born - Bishop Fulton Sheen. He said that if Catholics were all that non-Catholics imagine them to be then even Catholics wouldn't want to be Catholic. That about sums it up. Sometimes it's easy for us human beings to get to the point of thinking we know something about something when we don't. I thought I understood what the Catholic faith was all about, and based upon that faulty thinking, I just knew that Catholicism was all wrong. But when I began to read the Saints and to really understand the faith I came to realize how wrong I had been all along.
But here is a little secret - between you and me - what really changed my mind was that when I was nearly convinced that I ought to convert, I was praying the Rosary one day and quite unexplainably the room filled with the strong scent of roses. I have worked most of my life as a professor of research and so I tend to lean very heavily toward rationality and logic. I do not like unexpected mysteries. God created us in such a way that we are made to be able to explore and to discover things and to find them out. But I could not solve the mystery of the fragrance of roses nor why it filled the room without dissipating until I had finished my prayer. I didn't understand it at all until my Catholic sponsor explained to me that the rose is the flower of the Blessed Mother and that she had come to hear me pray. That utterly conquered my heart. Now I understand the mystery and I also have since come to learn and understand a lot more about our Holy Queen and how merciful and loving she is toward us. The way I see it, if I truly want to love Jesus more perfectly, there's no better teacher than his mother who loved and loves him perfectly. I am autistic (don't know if you will understand what that is) and autistic people are very sharp at spotting the fakes in life and identifying what is authentic and real, and I have to tell you Isaac, your Catholic faith is just about the most real thing you are ever going to find in this life. On a final note, I have to tell you that this week, my fiancé, Kathy, was confirmed into the Catholic faith as well and we will soon be married in the Catholic Church. I would never want to be identified as anything else other than Catholic. By the way, I use to live up and around where you live and I have to ask - is it getting warm yet? Ha ha. It's beautiful country there, no doubt, but I could never deal well with the cold. I am a Master Gardener and I'd rather not wait until June to plant my flowers!! But a whole lot of Scandinavian Lutherans in your area and that's what I use to be before I came to the Catholic faith.
@@timmykeilnkathyshingler1433 Congratulations on Kathy becoming Catholic as well as your upcoming marriage! Thank you for sharing your story! My parents really like Fulton Sheen and have a picture of him in our house. The weather here can't make up its mind. It was 80s a few days ago and now there is 3 inches of snow!
awesome!
Thanks!
@@isaaczachman have a great weekend! 👍

Very nicely sung, Issac! Well done 😊
Thank you so much!
Hopefully we will hear more from him
Is the guy sitting in the chair at the end of the video crying?
Fantastic performance! I enjoyed this. Thank you.
I believe he was crying. He was one of the singers that sang the Requiem. Thank you for the kind words!
can you cover Salva Me from Libera :) it would be amazing!!!
Danke!
Great Work! Do you study voice individually with anyone?
Thank you! I sing with a boys choir.
Excellent rendition, a pleasure to listen to. One thing is striking, and in a very good way...
Isaac is wearing a sensible and comfortable Shirt and Tie of the correct size.
Thanks to Mom or Dad, Isaac has room to breathe easily and comfortably and he still looks good. Singers need room to breathe, and because Isaac is comfortable he performs well.
If you watch the best, you frequently see them with the collar top button open and no tie.
The crazy habit amongst U.S. choirs especially, of wearing tight fitting high or wing collars and ridiculous bow ties, clothing so tight it almost cuts off the circulation or the ability to breathe freely, does nothing for the performance of a singer. You never see a professional singer wearing something so tight around their neck it's almost choking them, so stop dressing choirs up like toy soldiers in uniforms, looking like dolls.
