You're obviously a skilled welder, but what I like most about your videos is how accessible you make the craft feel. You helmets and Mando armor were very weld heavy, but this armor came together with very little welding, and most of build was completed with hand tools.
What's the simplest way to make Metal armour, I'm cutting out with tin snips but wondering how to curve get those tasty shapes without huge machinery I don't have.. Thanks
I think you should try to make something like a Dark Trooper... I know you can do it...or maybe one of the new Bad Batch troopers on Disney +. This is the way.
I've tried making the fett style armor but I can't seem to get the collar plate looking and feeling right. Like either its too small or I can't lift my arms without it choking me.
How much if you were to do it to sell? As I'd love it.. proper armour rather than plastic, unfortunately I've got the kit at work but not the permission to use it.
Next time you make a helmet, I want you to try this; before installing the visor and interior workings, line the inside with alternating layers of Line-X (Rhino-lining in a spray can) and strips of fiberglass sheet. After you've done five layers of each, coat with 1/8-1/4 inches thick of flex seal spray, and then install some visor and workings you're ok with sacrificing. Put a model head inside, take it to the shooting range, and start testing. It should withstand up to 9mm with ease, but with the level of peening you do, it may take a .45acp like a champ. Stronger bullet resistance could be achieved if you had some sort of jig that compressed the layers into the metal as they dried. If anything, it will make for a super interesting video. I think that it could grow into something way bigger though, because a bulletproof Mando helmet of the quality you produce would be worth a kings ransom and would be the envy of all.
It would be simpler to just make it out of 3mm 316 states steel, that requires no 'composite material ' to be bullet resistant of you wanted that route. 3mm 316 stainless should resist 9mm, 45 acp, and I'd estimate it would probably start to struggle around 44 magnum. Shotgun slug should also be survivable.
@@jaredtrainor6860 composite armor beats steel in strength to weight ratio, hands down. It's also less prone to spalling and lead splash, and can take way more hits before it loses effectiveness. It's also cheaper and easier to fabricate.
@@joshuawayne9811 actually its not strength to weight. In the case of composite helmets its an issue of cost. Equipping your army in steel helmets with advanced enough metallurgical helmets would be astronomical in cost. And in the case of ceramic armor, its a hardness factor. And its pretty useless after getting hit a few times. Granted the chance of getting hit is slim, so I can understand why its a risk taken.

Pretty sure my Paladin in Diablo 2 had that same giant spiked hammer. What in the world is that thing used for, besides slaying demons in the world of Sanctuary?
It’s a shame Disney couldn’t have just hired you for the new Boba Fett show… The new armor is so plastic it’s painfully cringe and tacky to look at. Great work 🙌
Dude can you stop being so cool for one day. Metal mando and Fett armor. So badass.
I know this is a year ago but if you sold these as a kit on etsy or something I'd buy them in a heart beat!!
same
How are you not popular yet dude, you actually make some of the coolest stuff on UA-cam
WOW man that was a fast build. Very nice!

Man, I love those little spongey drum buffers. So much better than pneumatic sanding discs
I was waiting for so long for you to make the boba fett armor im like the biggest fan of boba fett and of you this was an amazing video 😂
You’re nothing like me
Great video. Loving the build . Looks FANTASTIC!
Awesome video man! Can’t wait for the finished suit 👍🏻
Yeah!Boba Fett,im so excited..
Do you think a 12" slip roller would be big enough to do a set of Boba armor and Helmet?
This must have been a breeze compared to Mando's armor! Looks epic!
hell ya, Mandos would look sick with aluminum
Looks amazing!!!
Honestly I feel like if you ever get to meet tumeura Morrison that u should have him sign it
Awesome video, thanks for sharing. If you don’t mind, what is the material called that you used for the inner padding?
Looking good!
In the Star Wars Universe, Boba Fett is the second most Iconic character after Luke Skywalker. (IMHO) (Yes even before Lea and Han or the droids)
I would say Boba is second to Darth Vader, then Han, then Chewy, then Luke
@@ryanbyers8251 Thank you for sharing your opinion. Yes, Darth Vader is top 5 at least, Probably 3rd, then Obi Wan. (Just opinion)

Most impressive! ;D
was not expecting that machine to be so big when you walked in front of it
What did u use to make it ( machines )
Bro thank you so much now I can wear my helmet while wearing aluminum armor.
❤
Please let me know where to order armor
Amazing good job:D

Freaking incredible!! Dude you are so talented. Man I wish I could make metal armour.
I really like how you do! keep up the good work! I would like to do this myself, but there is no place or money because I am from Russia

@TheWeldingGeek would you ever do a commission for the armor like you made and IF so, what would you charge???

You can make money making these. My money. I would buy a set from you

I made myself a Mando armor out of stainless steel... Its not that perfect... But its mine
