My ten general tips: 1) As you say, scout scout scout. Find out where everything is so you know where to base. 2) Find the Pig King. Even if you can't find anything else. I've actually spawned in worlds without a Pig King. What I do then is set up everything as normal, with the understanding I'm GOING to world hop once I prototype all the things I want. Pig King is super important. 3. As you say, always be prepared. I like to carry twigs, grass, logs, flint, pig skins and silk on me. Before you base, try to grab up at least a full stack of rocks as well. You need a ton of rocks to craft the most important structures. 4. Get charcoal for a Crock Pot early. You get charcoal for burning trees. The most efficient way is probably to burn down a spider forest, or you can cultivate trees (pick pine cones and plant them) instead. Or just burn isolated stands of trees as you find them. You need charcoal for a Crock Pot and the faster you get one, the sooner your food troubles will be solved. With a Crock Pot set up, you will be free to worry only about Sanity and Health, because the food you gather will become much more efficient. 5. You don't need to base near spiders, but you should have some within a short walk. You can kill a level 3 nest and take the spider eggs, then replant them wherever is most convenient. The extra silk and monster meat is great. Remember to kill and replant nests whenever they're at level 3 unless you want to fight a Spider Queen. Don't plant more than 2 spider nests next to each other. Remember that you don't need very many spider nests in your world to fill your needs, to feel free to burn down the other nests in spider forests and caves. 6. Pig skins! Ropes and Pig Skins are super important! You can kill pigs, kill werepigs, hammer down pig houses or hammer down staked pig heads, but get pig skins however you can. Pig skins make two very important items: the football helmet and umbrella. The umbrella is mandatory for Spring and helpful in Autumn. Football helmets are useful all the time. The helmet reduces damage and provides some resistance to rainfall. Once you get a nice stack of pig skins, you'll always have a football helmet available in the event you need to fight. You can combine it with the log armor to be even more tanky, but the real advantage of the football helmet is you can carry a backpack. 7. Beefalo wool has the same burn value as wood and isn't as useful for crafting once you have a winter hat or beefalo hat. The fur stacks in piles of 40, which gives you essentially twice as much fuel for Winter/Summer in the same inventory slot. This is kind of two tips, but you can build a sewing kit with hound's teeth and silk to keep your clothing items repaired so you never have to make more than one. 8. The swamp is very dangerous, but it's full of free Tentacle Spikes. Look for zones where merms and spiders are fighting tentacles and loot the corpses. Don't get involved in the fights. If there are no fights in your swamp, plant spider nests near tentacles. You can go up against any enemy in the game with a setup like: Tentacle Spike, Football Helmet, Log Armor. The more Spikes you can stockpile, the better, because they wear out fast. 9. Rush for an Endothermic Fire Pit once Spring hits. Good Summer basing locations are the Desert and near Frog Ponds. Flingomatics aren't necessary at all if you make a dedicated summer base. 10. Build a dedicated fight station for yourself. Remember that nothing in the game world (except Krampus) will fuck with your tools. So throw your shit all around the ground. If a weapon breaks while you're fighting (it will), you can just grab up a loose weapon (with your hands empty) and auto-equip it. Good stuff to have in a fight station is a fire pit, endothermic fire pit, chest to hold fire fuel/healing salves/spider glands and then however many tooth traps you'd care to set. Fire pits count as structures, so Deerclops will be drawn to them and try to destroy them. Nearby pigs will aggro to spiders and hounds but get slaughtered by anything tougher. Beefalo get rekt by most of the giants, so don't bother with them either. Good weapons, good armor and basic kiting will take down almost everything in the game.
A tip: If you already have an Alchemy Engine, destroy your Science Machine, Alchemy Engine provides tier 1 and 2 science recipes. Same with the Shadow Manipulator. If you already have it, just destroy your Prestihatitator for extra resources.
This is, in my definition, the greatest tips on Don't Starve that exist on youtube. These are very helpful tips that aren't necessarily the most basic or the most advanced tips. It brings a happy medium assortment of tips that I, a veteran of Don't Starve found helpful. Thank you. :D
No problem, there are many more tips but it's such an individualized game it's hard to suggest stuff without backlash I might do some guides on specific aspects of the game.
my bf and I stopped playing around the time reign of giants got added...we're trying to get back into the game and this was extremely helpful, thank you
because I am always alone even though it's dst that I play, and I am scared of hounds, or at least was at first, I would plan it so that when I heard the voices I would run away from my camp to somewhere that has almost no resources and where I honestly don't want to visit, and find one of the wormholes that I had previously located to go back to my base. I would wait at that wormhole until the hounds spawned in, then jump into teh hole and come out near my base while the hounds just stayed on the other side confused, never to bother me again, until I absent-mindedly go strolling into my hound disposal biome.
I don't know if it works on the computer version, but on the console version you can craft a fire pit and cancel placing it. This does not give back the resources, but instead allows a player to store a fire pit without inventory space, and place a fire if out of wood and night is close. This works with all placeable items I tried it with.
The first time that accidentally happened to me, I thought the game glitched and I thought I lost it. I had no materials for another one and night was here so I got so mad. XD Then I figured it out and was like, "THATS COOL!"
Your editing was better on this one, but make use of your transitions instead of just having the clips just flicker like you've done here, and you didn't add an annotation that the twigs and grass info is outdated due to disease, and make sure the video is in 1920x1080 format or else we all get to see annoying black bars at the sides.
here some of my tips: 1) don't be afraid to walk in the dark, use torches, they're easy to make (to explore). also always have a torch and a precrafted campfire with you, it will save your life in case. 2) don't be afraid to go in the caves, just do it, provide usefull ressources 3) fight bosses, you can learn how to kitte or kill them easily, and renember to take your time while fighting them, to avoid death. they drop very useful stuff (like the deerclops eye for the eyebrella). 4) use Tumbleweeds, they provide great ressources (twigs, grass, gems, gears, silk, trinkets...) 5) you can restore both health and sanity using only blue shrooms. 6) don't waste your rocks on wall to defend(use wooden ones unstead) just because rock don't grow on trees and are a little bit harder to gather. you can use rock wall for other purpose. 7) *Renember you can make surf and turf in a RoG word if you have both RoG and SW compatble* , great health(60) and sanity food (33). EDIT: you can make them simply with 2 monster meat and 2 fish/eels. other easy health food you can use: pierogi, dragonpie. and other sanity health food you can use: taffy's, cooked green shroom, pumpkin cookie(15), melonsicle (20, also cool you during summer, require ice). 8) you can kill easily gobblerby dropping 3 red caps (uncooked) (no need to fight them) or drop 1 Berry on the ground (if they see it, they will go for it ignoring the player so you can fight them easily) They're the most cheapiest and easiest way to kill gobblers. 9) discovering recipes restore sanity (can be usefull) 10) if you are insane, try to get nightmare fuels, don't be afraid, Killing theses shadow monster will give you sanity in exchange.
My tips 1 dont pick flowers 2 dont waste stuff on sanity if, if its free sure but dont use electric milk or butter to make ice cream 3 pick characters that work together, like wx and wicker or wolfgang and wicker. Or webber and wigfrid or webber and webber. 4 hammer science machines if you have an alchemy engine or bunny hat machine if you have a shadow manipulator. 5 the morning star is too expensive and requires things to be wet for it to do damage anywhere near the price. Use darks swords instead. 6 Use number keys to switch from weapon to walking cane to get extra hits while kiting. 7 Dont base near beefalo, they get mad in spring and sometimes winter. 8 dont shave beefalo, kill them for 4 fur and 4 meat, shaving takes too much time. 9 stock up on at least 80 rocks in the first eight days to set up base. 10 have at least 3 crockpots around your ice box for easy access
This was so helpful. Thank you for making this. I've been trying not to spoil myself on this game so I didn't want to go full Wiki style, but this was just enough direction that I can actually play it without dying instantly now.
These are SUPER helpful tips. I just picked up Don't starve, and these tips have helped me survive a biiiit longer (To like day 8ish) I'm still working on it!
Hey heres a random tip. In spring lure the moose goose to a herd of 5 and up beefalo. Moose goose WILL kill a couple. But since its spring, they'll be back. The moose goose will most likely die. And you can use the dead beefalo loot to make a beefalo hat to get the moose goose loot. I can assure you, it works.
haven't bought the game yet, but when Steam Summer Sale hits, I plan to. Your tips video really helps me better understand what I need to do. Thanks for posting it up.
Talking about efficiency (2:27) - open the crockpot and the fridge and shift + left click the ingredients in the crockpot. May be much faster. Plus: Don't use a light source at a full moon (2:58).
I took all this footage for the video, it's not direct gameplay (I thought that was obvious?) That means sometimes I am going to do stuff that's not necessarily directly related to what I am talking about for demonstration purposes. I was talking about doing stuff at night so I used a lantern (even though this happened to be on the night of a full moon) it wont be a full moon every night.
Thanks these tips help a lot, I have try the games on my own for 5 times. Unlocked 2 characters. Figured its time for me to find resources online that help me to improve. Thanks
- 2 things every base should have: bird cage + spider meat source - build 4-5 crockpots in a group with a fridge in the center - base should have quick access to pig king, swamp tentacles, beefalo, desert, and walrus. - i overlap my ice fling-o-matics so they do not get overburdened trying to fight a fire spread by one self. - be prepared for the days that giants spawn.
Bird cages are okay but don't have great utility as seeds are rather useless but eggs can be a good filler and provide bacon and eggs. You should really aim for a firefarm or bunnyman farm asap for easy food access. Walrus are not necessary at all you need a walking stick and a tam o' from them once and thats it. Desert also aren't necessary either you can get easier resources from elsewhere but they are a plus. You can just exit and re-enter for fires, you can also use lureplants to completely prevent fires.
Kulthozuer - birdcage is without a doubt the best utility in the game (when accompanied with crockpot, icebox, spider dens). it turns most bad food into fresh food, monster meat into real meals, and eggs that can be turned into the pig king for gold. - idk what a "fire farm" is. with spider dens nearby you have endless supply of food (and gold via birdcage). - for easy food you could hunt koalaphant, or take a trip through a swamp and grab some merm/spider meat (and great swamp weapons for fighting giants) - walrus is a one time need, sure, (2 if playing dst for saddle) but the closer it is the easier it is to visit it enough to get the walking stick in the first year. also spawns hounds often so you get extra teeth for traps. - desert has hounds, has tumbleweed, has tons of rocks/gold. tons of meat, teeth, grass/twig fast. a good place to spend several days in summer with little worry about the surrounding resources catching fire (don't visit beefalo or forest you want to preserve in summer). also, i play on world settings with "less" resources because default world settings is way too generous and easy. - exit/enter for fires? you mean close the game? sounds fun... (also not possible in dst nor helpful) if you aren't playing rog then there's not much difficulty at all to it. winter is easy to prepare for (1 beefalo horn and a thermal stone, if you want to speed things along make a tent, koalaphant for food, even a trip to swamp can earn days of food in no time). w/o rog nothing spoils on crockpots, farm plots, drying racks, rabbits never die, etc. so you just craft a ton of each and leave food there for whenever... completely easy mode. don't play w/o rog.
Kulthozuer as i said, i don't play w/o RoG because vanilla is too easy and Rog changed the game so all those easy vanilla mechanics (no spoiling, etc) no longer work, and i set most world resources to "less" to make things interesting so finding things like basic berry bushes is far, far less plentiful.
Dude, how did I not know about giving monster meat to the f*cking bird. The damn thing has been just choking on my fruit and seeds returning only sadness and loneliness to me...I should've killed it a long time ago
There is only so much room, honestly I just wrote this off the top of my head so if I had more time to think maybe but I didn't wanna focus too much on controls since people play on console.
+Joseph Batchelor Today I recorded a run where I quick ran the ruins and got all 3 guardian horns and tons of thulecite/gems. I'll add commentary tmrw maybe and then post it. Hope it'll help with what your looking for.
+Garbfield Winter gear is very easy to make, it usually takes me a minute to get the resources for a beefalo hat and winter hats are even easier to make. Webber's beard is a little worse than Wilsons and they both kind of suck unless fully grown. Still a beefalo hat is super easy to get and way better than both of those options. Use the thermal stone glitch and a beefalo hat to stay warm for days in the dead of winter.
+Kulthozuer No problem... your videos need a tad bit energy but other than that your a great UA-camr, you give helpful tips, great strategies, and entertainment all in one video... if people ever start hating it vids just ignore them.... have fun!
When I start helping people out with stuff I default to my "tutoring voice" which is much calmer and relaxing. It's hard to change that but when I'm adding lines in later I definitely notice.
Your editing is good! I have a question, which is the best season to collect bees to do a bee box (both ROG and Shipwreck)? In Spring it is annoying because they are very agressive, however in other seasons sometimes there is no bees.
Its a pain to fight gaints in the Dont Starrve pocket edition for android... lasted for 33 days, prepared for Deerclops... welp, that ended badly... tried to rebuild, .. welp, giant duck thing...
I always try to set up base not far from a beefalo herd so that when the hounds come I can just walk to the herd and they take care of it for me. Also, you can trap spiders in traps, which is incredibly helpful for destroying nests
I built my base at the lower level of the map "dumb ik that now" and the pig king village is waaaay far from my base. would it be smart to destroy their houses and build them near me? also do they respawn? I need pig skin
One of the tips is to build a fridge early on, but what do I do if the world I spawn in is so stupid every time that it takes me at least 30 days of maping out every inch , to find the fucking monsters for gears?
+HaveACookie Find a sinkhole and go down to the ruins for guarenteed gears or dig graves for a very good chance at gears. In RoG they should be relatively common.
I keep losing my sanity and dieing to terror beaks and the crawler things I just got this game for PS3 recently so I don't know much and I am having a hard time running from them and having to find food and other useful things at the same time
might be a bit late, but try picking flowers for sanity, or trying to not get wet as you need to drop your items to stay up in sanity, which can lower productivity. also look on the wiki for some sanity giving hats. then again, sanity is much less important than health and hunger, unless your pvp skilz are bad m9
Started playing this game yesterday again and felt like i never played it before. So many things to do, so little time.... But always remember... Don't starve.
Coolkid5101 Make an Ice Box to preserve food and a Bee Box for honey before winter. Always cook your food with the Crock Pot, don't simply cook it in the fire. You can use 3 ice + 1 meat of any kind, even spoiled monster meat to make Meatballs. Dry regular meats in the Drying Rack and don't bother with rabbits, they're usually not worth the time invested in catching them. You will never starve again.
If you can't find boulders with gold in them but you found the pig king, just give him one meat item. Most meats work with him and he gives you one gold for it. Try morsels (easy to obtain from moleworms when they come to the surface during dusk and night) or rabbits (try building a trap and baiting them with a carrot in it). Bigger meat items work too, but in my opinion that would be a waste of good food resources. Hope this helps!
Roy Harrigan Practice fighting spiders. I have a brief guide on kiting that explains how to do it if you want but it's rather easy you should be able to kill them with basically any tool.
You can do both. You can set traps to thin the herd and then kite the ones that are left. I do the same with frogs because those can get overwhelming in swarms.
+Y5Y5 I'll put it on the docket, I have planned a better character guide video, a summer survival guide, a winter survival guide and a boss fighting guide. After all that's done I will look through suggestions to see (Or I might just include the items in the boss fighting guide)
+TheJakesGameplay Granted the cave is fully explored, the closest cluster of light bulb plants between the entrance to the ruins and the exit to the over world. The main reason to base in the caves is to escape the heat and smoldering of the over world and to have a quick way to the ruins for the pseudoscience machine and clearing it out. (Though you can completely clear it out in one run)
Hey should I be camping near beefalo or pigs? I used to always do beefalo but recently I've been building it near pigs. It doesn't really matter where I base though because I am good enough at the game to where it doesn't matter what area I base in.
Yeah it doesn't matter it's good to be close to both but you can easily make new pig huts. The pig king being close is a big one I usually choose Savannah because it's already pretty open, has a bunch of grass and beefalo aren't far away. I would say for more experiences players proximity to pig king / glommer and a sinkhole plus a combination of a good shaped place to base, if you know you are going to survive and expand what do you want to build? I build in big open spaces with preference near wormholes so I can easily make a close off farm that only I can access.
It annoys me when people make up structures and items. Tell me, since when were logs carved into shirts called wood armor? And what's a fridge? Nah, we went camping and only brought an ICE BOX. (I wanna say I'm sorry, but I'm really not. I hope I'm not offensive.)
this guy is anti edgy rick. I mean he uses a lantern on a full moon to see better if rick saw someone do that he would personally kill them. Great video
+Cassie2507 I did know. It's one of the first things I do. I like to keep my orientation on the default when I base so that I can remember my layout better.
how do people invest time and effort in building all these? I'm already frustrated enough when I couldn't get enough rocks to make tools during harsh starving winter days of 27
Working more strategically and knowing the game a little better will make obtaining resources and food, sanity, health management super easy. Once you've reached that step it becomes really easy although a bit monotonous to make end game farms and such. That and people spend large amounts of time building crazy mega bases (I don't really do that.)
Put traps on rabbit holes, build bird traps and a bird cage, make a Crock Pot and Drying Hack, a Bee Box...you'll rely on several sources of food until your base is self-sufficient.
Kulthozuer, I started playing DST with a few friends and I'm the person hosting the server on Steam. For the first few days irl the servers ran completely fine, no lag and whatnot. But after awhile, the server started getting pretty laggy (rubberbanding), especially when players go near the base. Do you have any solution to this problem? sucks when you cant even kite properly.
Contact Klei Tech support. You can also set your lag compensation from predictive to none. Which will give you input lag but shows your true location on the map. This makes it easier to kite but makes the game feel clunky.
I die after day 3. But this was very helpful have a sub you're great. I'll see if i get any better i really need to buy this game, i'm currently borrwing it from my bf.
Benny FouFou hey m8, I know u might not see this, but let me tell you what I prioritize: Be near spiders, beefalo/pigs (pick one, but both is cool), pig king, bees, and some natural resources Make science machines, fire pit, alchemy engine Then make farms and drying racks at the same time and chests as well, prepare for a bird cage and bird trap Then kill clockwork for gears for icebox Then get bees Get to winter with dragonpies from ur farms and honey hams and nuggets (make hams if you have less honey but make nuggets if you're on a shortage of meat Hope it helps!!
Benny FouFou Except the part where you waste a ton of resources on farms. Just use that manure instead for berry bushes and you good. Make meatballs in your crock pot not honey ham or dragon pies.
1) A Don't Starve UA-camr

Sounds like a subscription to me.
cheers
grumblegrapes yeah the first video I found on tips for DS was edgy rick...he was absolute ass to people in the comments... I love this guy though
Yeah I don't know what his deal is.
moony don’t care, he is an absolute asshole.

I really like this video! No matter how many times I play Don't Starve, I love hearing about other people's tactics for the game.
+Mikayla Queen Sounds cool maybe we can play sometime if I get back into DST.
+Kulthozuer That'd be really cool! All the other people I used to play with weren't as fond of the game, so they weren't that great at it. :p
Started playing again after 4 years. These things have stayed true even until now. Thanks!
I made like 100 more tips that I never published! They are all amazing

NP reign of giants really added a lot of replayability to the game, as well as shipwrecked.
0n3piece2468 awww sweet! Bf and Gf playing video games!
Not so sweet when you try it yourself. It brings lots of fights...
Lol I broke up with my gf but we still have good fun together playing DST
Sorry bout that

How was the editing in this video? Hopefully it's a little more pallet-able. I have someone working on an intro and a theme.
I got don't starve quickly forgot something switched to this vid after 10 more of ur vids I'm ready to play
Do it up
+Kulthozuer amazing vid although i play on console but this helped a lot thx
looks good

8) you can kill easily gobblerby dropping 3 red caps (uncooked) (no need to fight them) or drop 1 Berry on the ground (if they see it, they will go for it ignoring the player so you can fight them easily)
They're the most cheapiest and easiest way to kill gobblers.
9) discovering recipes restore sanity (can be usefull)
10) if you are insane, try to get nightmare fuels, don't be afraid, Killing theses shadow monster will give you sanity in exchange.
Great tips.
My tips
1 dont pick flowers
2 dont waste stuff on sanity if, if its free sure but dont use electric milk or butter to make ice cream
3 pick characters that work together, like wx and wicker or wolfgang and wicker.
+SamandCory Also, gave you a sub. You seem worthy of it
Thanks for your trust, I will make sure to break it by making horrifyingly bad videos.
+Kulthozuer well then don't mind my post then ;)
Yeah sorry about that I rush my footage a lot cuz im lazy.
Craft the minor stuff so you don't half to go next to your science machine alchemy engine or that stuff so you can travel alot more without stopping.
Wait...having a good, unbaiased video about a game with strategy and saying that you should play how you enjoy...
THAT'S AMAZING
I just started playing Don't Starve and find this super useful! Thank you :)
Thanks these tips help a lot, I have try the games on my own for 5 times. Unlocked 2 characters. Figured its time for me to find resources online that help me to improve. Thanks
for the 1st tip, the space bar works well for actions like the exemple you said where and object is behing another one :) dunno if i'm clear
Thanks for the tips! Just started a new world and i'm doing well thanks to you.
+JordanSeth Christner Thanks for watching if you have any questions just ask.
- 2 things every base should have: bird cage + spider meat source
- build 4-5 crockpots in a group with a fridge in the center
- base should have quick access to pig king, swamp tentacles, beefalo, desert, and walrus.
Kulthozuer
- birdcage is without a doubt the best utility in the game (when accompanied with crockpot, icebox, spider dens). it turns most bad food into fresh food, monster meat into real meals, and eggs that can be turned into the pig king for gold.
- idk what a "fire farm" is. with spider dens nearby you have endless supply of food (and gold via birdcage).
- for easy food you could hunt koalaphant, or take a trip through a swamp and grab some merm/spider meat (and great swamp weapons for fighting giants)
- walrus is a one time need, sure, (2 if playing dst for saddle) but the closer it is the easier it is to visit it enough to get the walking stick in the first year. also spawns hounds often so you get extra teeth for traps.
(also not possible in dst nor helpful)
if you aren't playing rog then there's not much difficulty at all to it. winter is easy to prepare for (1 beefalo horn and a thermal stone, if you want to speed things along make a tent, koalaphant for food, even a trip to swamp can earn days of food in no time). w/o rog nothing spoils on crockpots, farm plots, drying racks, rabbits never die, etc. so you just craft a ton of each and leave food there for whenever... completely easy mode. don't play w/o rog.
Kulthozuer
i also prefer to play dst solo instead of just ds, because in dst the enemies have more health and create more challenge.
Yes. Then just go library mode and have 1000 berry bushes. I also do that but not anymore.
Kulthozuer
as i said, i don't play w/o RoG because vanilla is too easy and Rog changed the game so all those easy vanilla mechanics (no spoiling, etc) no longer work, and i set most world resources to "less" to make things interesting so finding things like basic berry bushes is far, far less plentiful.
Dude, how did I not know about giving monster meat to the f*cking bird. The damn thing has been just choking on my fruit and seeds returning only sadness and loneliness to me...I should've killed it a long time ago
You forgot to add in the use of shift/control keys for faster and easier inventory management.
There is only so much room, honestly I just wrote this off the top of my head so if I had more time to think maybe but I didn't wanna focus too much on controls since people play on console.
Really great video, and the editing makes it seem professional. Could you please do a caves/ruins guide?
+Joseph Batchelor Today I recorded a run where I quick ran the ruins and got all 3 guardian horns and tons of thulecite/gems. I'll add commentary tmrw maybe and then post it. Hope it'll help with what your looking for.
great tips, very helpful.
I love your videos so much
Thanks dood
This is an extremely good guild if not the best guilde on youtube
Infini BEE guide*
no he meant guild, its a new addition👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
I typically don't have winter gear prepared, but if you play Wilson or Webber, your beard and a thermal stone is plenty for survival.
You: Prepare for hounds
ME: Doig shit and just finding to who throw them.
Spiders/Pigs/Biffalos: *I have a bad feeling about this*
Great guide, man. Thanks.
+Paul Pickett NP
Great Video!
hey, love your vids... keep up with the good work
+Battle Guy 2100 Thanks for watching
+Kulthozuer No problem... your videos need a tad bit energy but other than that your a great UA-camr, you give helpful tips, great strategies, and entertainment all in one video... if people ever start hating it vids just ignore them.... have fun!
When I start helping people out with stuff I default to my "tutoring voice" which is much calmer and relaxing. It's hard to change that but when I'm adding lines in later I definitely notice.
+Kulthozuer k well I'll be watching!
Dude thanks. I just started playing dont starve and i really dont have an idea what to do first.
pretty helpful video as always .
AS ALWAYS
Like your editing
Your editing is good! I have a question, which is the best season to collect bees to do a bee box (both ROG and Shipwreck)? In Spring it is annoying because they are very agressive, however in other seasons sometimes there is no bees.
+Vasco Vasconcelos Fall in both.
Camp near glommer you get pig king, glommer, pigs, krampus sack, etc... etc... etc...
Thanks we can definitely play some Don't Starve Together
Excellent vidéo
Great tutorial! By the way, why put things in the crockpot by dragging them in, when it's quicker to shift-click?
Julia M Fair enough.
Although learning to shift-click is very useful as it saves lots of time, so perhaps it would be a good thing to mention as well.
You can try and make a koalefant pen (1 wall gap between walls) for manure
5:43 lol look at that glitch
you really shuld exterminate some beefs there are too many
Best......Survival........Tips.........EVER!!!!!!!
Shit. Things got serious.
elchamber Ikr Today I was really proud that I survived my first winter and now I'm like : oh shit
pretty useful tips.
Its a pain to fight gaints in the Dont Starrve pocket edition for android...
lasted for 33 days, prepared for Deerclops... welp, that ended badly... tried to rebuild, .. welp, giant duck thing...
Trustworthy McLegitimate deer lops is pretty easy, although moose goose does need a bit of practice
Here's one:
Some foods rot quicker after being cooked
Thanks
Wigfrid for Life 😁
Hosue Emmanuel Cabungcal webber for life
Hosue Emmanuel Cabungcal nah m8... Wolfgang is better
Wigfrid is the best!
Wickerbottom beats anyone easily
wilson is the best
im not New but i like your ds videos could You make dst videos gameplay?
+Rex :D Maybe sometime
here for the halloween sales
I always try to set up base not far from a beefalo herd so that when the hounds come I can just walk to the herd and they take care of it for me.
Also, you can trap spiders in traps, which is incredibly helpful for destroying nests
I built my base at the lower level of the map "dumb ik that now" and the pig king village is waaaay far from my base. would it be smart to destroy their houses and build them near me? also do they respawn? I need pig skin
They respawn in their houses after they die and come out in like 4 days unless you light their house of fire.
Kulthozuer yeah I stopped being lazy and googled it myself, thanks though.
damn you go from number 1 to 100 i almost spill my cereal :))
+anonymous zara Don't ruin your car with that spilled cereal.
"Doesn't take a high skill level" I've played almost 800 hours of don't starve... I still can't beat it...
Rough buddy, I have 200 hours in.
only 200 hours??? hax0r confirmed
Hmmm...that help me a lot of surviving(max days before video:78;after:151)Tnx dude:D
Nice vid:D :3
U ARE REALLY WISE BRUH.
Don't listen to this fool darklamp picking flowers is a horrible idea zi hope you didn't die numerous times due to this fool
Thank you!
+Vasco Vasconcelos Hey thanks for watching
Started playing this game yesterday again and felt like i never played it before. So many things to do, so little time.... But always remember... Don't starve.
I bought a few days ago. Countless deaths, thought ironically not a single one from starving, lol.
usually hunger is the kiler for me, especially for winter
Coolkid5101 Make an Ice Box to preserve food and a Bee Box for honey before winter. Always cook your food with the Crock Pot, don't simply cook it in the fire. You can use 3 ice + 1 meat of any kind, even spoiled monster meat to make Meatballs. Dry regular meats in the Drying Rack and don't bother with rabbits, they're usually not worth the time invested in catching them. You will never starve again.
For me its utter bad luck bullshit. Like fighting the deerclops, and then having the mother goose show up ON my base! FUCKING GOOSE BITCH!!
all im doing can do is keep my fire and stay full. cause i cant get gold to get the science machine :(
If you can't find boulders with gold in them but you found the pig king, just give him one meat item.
You had a thumbs up until the end of the video where you yelled super loud. Thanks for the hearing damage.
+Aser your welcome thanks for the comment
I can't get past day 6.
What's killing you?
Lately it's been spiders.
Roy Harrigan Practice fighting spiders. I have a brief guide on kiting that explains how to do it if you want but it's rather easy you should be able to kill them with basically any tool.
***** I hear this trap advice a lot I think it's good to learn how to fight them even if it costs you a game or two.
You can do both. You can set traps to thin the herd and then kite the ones that are left. I do the same with frogs because those can get overwhelming in swarms.
YOUR IN DAY 378 ?!??!!?? Your so good
Thanks for the tips. Tho, you do know that you can rotate the map to hit the spiders behind the trees, right lol
its still annoying
could you make a tutorial on what to do with all the unique items you get from he bosses?
+Y5Y5 I'll put it on the docket, I have planned a better character guide video, a summer survival guide, a winter survival guide and a boss fighting guide. After all that's done I will look through suggestions to see (Or I might just include the items in the boss fighting guide)
+Kulthozuer Could you also tell me which base spot is the best for caves?
+TheJakesGameplay Granted the cave is fully explored, the closest cluster of light bulb plants between the entrance to the ruins and the exit to the over world.
The main reason to base in the caves is to escape the heat and smoldering of the over world and to have a quick way to the ruins for the pseudoscience machine and clearing it out. (Though you can completely clear it out in one run)
Kulthozuer Alright, thanks!
o-o I will try to do this!..
*finds everything I need, pig king and beefalo, begins to base build, treevant kills me everytime, I have yet to survive me first winter, any tips?
It annoys me when people make up structures and items. Tell me, since when were logs carved into shirts called wood armor? And what's a fridge? Nah, we went camping and only brought an ICE BOX.
(I wanna say I'm sorry, but I'm really not. I hope I'm not offensive.)
this guy is anti edgy rick. I mean he uses a lantern on a full moon to see better if rick saw someone do that he would personally kill them. Great video
can u please make a video of all the items in regular don't starve and what they do.. I play on ps4 which such but yeah
theres like a thousand items so i cant rly do that just look at the wiki
You can just rotate the camera if something is behind the object
+Cassie2507 Yep
Just thought you didn't know because of the "number 1 tip" ^^
+Cassie2507 I did know. It's one of the first things I do. I like to keep my orientation on the default when I base so that I can remember my layout better.
Ideal video
ehhh.... could be better.
Very nice
+Jabłkowy Tell me about it.
+Kulthozuer you helped me with that spikes
Thanks
suprised, was usefull.
you can use the mouse for almost everything
but why would you
how do people invest time and effort in building all these? I'm already frustrated enough when I couldn't get enough rocks to make tools during harsh starving winter days of 27
Working more strategically and knowing the game a little better will make obtaining resources and food, sanity, health management super easy. Once you've reached that step it becomes really easy although a bit monotonous to make end game farms and such. That and people spend large amounts of time building crazy mega bases (I don't really do that.)
i wish shipwrecked was already on consoles........and dont starve together.....or combined. dont starve together, shipwrecked. ooooooh
What should i do to get more food? My farms are soooo slow even with shit They dont grow enogh
Put traps on rabbit holes, build bird traps and a bird cage, make a Crock Pot and Drying Hack, a Bee Box...you'll rely on several sources of food until your base is self-sufficient.
Kill spiders for monster meat. Put monster meat and 3 berries in the crockpot for meatballs.
3.07 IT WAS Y FULL MOON YOU DONT NEED LIGHT
my game freezes when i go into my worlds now what do to stop that a have shipwrecked and no mods as well so CRAP
+Levitheawsome Games try and repair your client on steam. Otherwise save might be corrupted you should try and back it up periodically.
Actually it only freezes when i play the normal version that menes i can only play shipwrecked and my steam complaints dont work so what do i do
+Levitheawsome Games dude go to customer support lol
I tried to do it but it didnt work
Kulthozuer, I started playing DST with a few friends and I'm the person hosting the server on Steam.
Aight, join my discord or ask on here if you have any specific questions
also be insani most of the time for nightmare fule.
thank you
+Y5Y5 Don't mention it. Or do I'm not a cop.
does chester follow u when he has stuff in it
Yes as long as you have the eyebone in your inventory and hes not dead.
The last part was ear rape and cringe.
But its funny in a bad way that i like
why are you making candy as wigfrid?
DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES
Same thing but for shipwrecked please
ill consider it.
I'm such a noob at this game... I wonder around with tons of food but have no idea how to make a base
+Benny FouFou Crockpot, grass tufts, saplings, campfire, endothermic fire, alchemy engine, bird cage, icebox, berry bushes, drying racks, flingomatics. Just make stuff.
Benny FouFou hey m8, I know u might not see this, but let me tell you what I prioritize:
Be near spiders, beefalo/pigs (pick one, but both is cool), pig king, bees, and some natural resources
Make science machines, fire pit, alchemy engine
Then make farms and drying racks at the same time and chests as well, prepare for a bird cage and bird trap
Then kill clockwork for gears for icebox
Then get bees
Get to winter with dragonpies from ur farms and honey hams and nuggets (make hams if you have less honey but make nuggets if you're on a shortage of meat
Hope it helps!!
Kevin Feng I see it, and I'm bout to read it all.
Kevin Feng Hey, and thanks it will help me. Appreciate you taking your time to help me:P
Benny FouFou Except the part where you waste a ton of resources on farms. Just use that manure instead for berry bushes and you good. Make meatballs in your crock pot not honey ham or dragon pies.
How many hours do you have in this game?
That with pausing the games doesn't work. The game still goes on even if it says paused..
+Avalicia No it doesn't
it does, I died twice because of "pausing" the game
+Avalicia Nope. Watch me do it in the video. You are not playing the same game that I am talking about in the video.
Kulthozuer Are there different editions then?
dst and dsrog and shipwreck for single player,
