Ash is one of my favorite protagonists ever. He doesn't always know what he's doing, but he's always doing something.

Ash is far more intelligent in the movies. This series wasnt written by Raimi and the OG team, these showrunners made Ash too dumb

"My heart is jackhammering like a quarterback on prom night" and "I'm going to say a lot of dumb things" are probably the greatest lines throughout this franchise and this TV show (besides "Groovy"). They are also probably my personal favorite lines to.😂😊❤👍

@@mycycleminorities exactly. Bruce brought something to evil dead that really made it exactly what it was. Rami isn't sticking around either and those two are the life blood of the franchise. Without them evil dead will either get extremely popular or die slowly but it will never be the same, it's success as it is relies on them I just don't think it'll remain the same, it's basically impossible for it to stay the same without them

I think Ash is the most realistic horror protagonist in terms of behavior (R. J. MacReady and Sidney Prescott are next). After all, if you remember, he started his journey as an ordinary guy from Michigan, who liked to hang out with friends and was dragged into the abyss of this nightmare against his will. At first, he was presented as a scared coward (which is hard to blame him for, given what Deadites are capable of and besides, they are damn scary). He even died at the end of the first movie. Then, in the second part, Ash has a turning point between wild fear and total madness, which generate courage and cruelty in him, it is possible that the experience with *Naturum Demonto* also affected his mental state and added strength to him. In the "Army of Darkness", Ash becomes less fearful and more arrogant, which only tempers his spirit and confidence in the fight against Evil.

I believe that the reason as to why Ash is so unhinged and immature in the show is his way to compensate for all the horror he sees
