Thanks, Bruce. To this day that means the world to me!
As a youngling, I had the opportunity to spend about 6 hours with Bruce. He was signing about 2,000 copies of "How to Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way" for my uncle's publishing company. There was a miscommunication where he thought he was going to sign a few dozen books at an event, not 2,000 copies in an assembly line fashion, but he was totally cool and cordial. I brought him stacks of the book and would take the signed copies from him to another table, and during that duty he dubbed me his "little minion". I was about 10-years-old and totally star-struck, having grown up watching Evil Dead's and Army of Darkness (and playing the PS1 and PS2 Evil Dead games), and loving his cameo in the first Spiderman movie (giving Spiderman his name!). After he finished all the books, he signed my siblings and my own Army of Darkness and Evil Dead posters, a pack of Army of Darkness playing cards, and my Farlane action figure of Ash vs. The Pit Witch. After all these years and many item purges and moves, I still have the unopened action figure box, signed "Griffin, Stay Groovy, Bruce Campbell". He told us that the cards and action figures were way cool, but had no idea they existed and definitely wasn't receiving any royalties from all that merchandise. I will cherish that memory and will always, always be a fan of Bruce.
He seems very down to earth. I don't blame him for not wanting to live the typical Hollywood celebrity lifestyle. It would suck to be recognised and bombarded with questions everywhere you go. Bruce: "it cut into my chin" Also Bruce: points at the wrong side of the chin(you can clearly see his scar on the other side, which is also in the Army of Darkness footage)
When i was little, I remember my brother talking about evil dead, describing it as some epic adventure with “the man with a chainsaw hand” ... unfortunately my brother passed away before the TV series came out but I know he would have loved it because Bruce is better than ever, and everytime i watch it , makes me think of him. Hail to the king baby!!!!
I love Bruce Campbell, randomly watched evil dead as a teen on IFC and first time really falling in love with horror genre. Watching Ash"s character going from typical 80s pretty guy in horror movie to badass nothing to lose demon slayer all within one film. Kinda just worked cheesy, but t the kind of cheese you enjoy and want so much more of. Asu vs evil dead was purely to see Bruce Campbell be funny and enjoy acting .
My gf in the 80s asked me, “Have you seen Evil Dead 2?” I’m like, “Saw the poster. Looks dumb.” She knew my sense of humour and wouldn’t take no for answer. Well that was over 30 years ago. We’re not together anymore but here I am.
It's kinda awesome how humble he is about his career. A lot of actors let the fans' adoration go to their heads. It's great that he really hasn't forgotten where he came from :) Love your work, Mr. Campbell!
RaidenFreeman i saw evil dead first then the tv hercules... but did not make the connection years later since i was just a small kid. later on when i know then i started to watch other projects he is in and cant get enough of him.
I think it's because he knows he has a good life. Sure he's not 'Kardashian' levels of famous, but he's nowhere near an actor who is struggling to look for work.
No words are more inaccurate than this, what about Christopher Lee who was an astounding solider, released a rock album in his 80s, got knighted, married a supermodel and has starred in over 100 films?
My daughter met him at comiccon Calgary Alberta...Shes met so many actors and actresses.. and he was the most fun and sweetest human...he took the time for her conversation and a picture we love..Hes truly a sweetheart.
I'm so bummed out that they got cancelled. It took a long time to get my girlfriend into ash vs evil dead and stop thinking that ash was almost as cheesy as ernest. It was my mom who introduced me to army of darkness, and I know she would have loved the show...
Bruce autographed our copy of Briscoe County at a book signing where our family was surrounded by Evil Dead fans. It was a highlight. I love that show and wish it had run longer.
Such a good guy, probably one of the nicest people in the business, based on my very limited interaction with him and just every interview i've seen him do. Hope we can look forward to him sticking around for the foreseeable future
Sometimes movies are better without them, like people want Pulp Fiction 2 because they want to know whats in the brief case but it being unknown is way better.
"Which role has been the closest to just playing yourself?" Bruce Campbell, who has played himself in a movie: "This western show hero that only like 5 people including the guy writing this remember"
I think Bruce misunderstood the question at 5:03 because the questioner probably wanted to know whether the character still loves Linda and kept the necklace as a reminder. I'd be actually curious about that myself. Ash turned out to be quite a womanizer later, but it could be an attempt to forget.
If he kept it I'm pretty sure he lost it. But I totally agree, and (you might consider this spoiler) his sentiments for Linda are explored in the last (or second to last) Ash vs Evil Dead episode, basically confirming your theory.
No, I think he got it, he's saying, "why the fuck would _I_ know the answer to that question? I'm the actor, I read the lines given to me, I know literally just as much as you guys do." I feel like those questions are more so for the writers or people who at least had input in that area.
I can remove my hat sure but it's best that I keep my glasses on as I'm nearsighted. I mean I could stumble and fall or worse I could hurt someone by bumping into them. Safer that way.

This video made me feel soo close to him, like if im talking to him and not seeing him through a screen. This man is an amazing down to earth actor. I wish him soo much luck!
you should watch the 2016 comicon panel....the guy is a legend!!
You should read his book, "If Chins Could Kill." It's fantastic.

After hearing this, I'm def gonna miss Bruce when he does go. One of the few celebs who seem genuine and down to earth
He just died today
No, he didn't.
RIP Bruce Campbell
RIP Aiden Campbell
RIP Lumpy
RIP BeepingMemeSauce2727
RIP Mariana D'Amelio
Just leaving these here for later, they will be true eventually and I will get likes on this comment then I will sell the likes to the Chinese
Maybe you’ll get lucky & go first!
I think we're gonna have him for a while more
Groovy! Greatest actor ever!
+Hail To The Chin your username is amazing.
That's what they all say baby!
he seems very down to earth. this is a very honest & good man.
Yeah you gotta love the guy
Hail To The Chin nope, he's not even a little bit close to being the greatest actor ever. Let's face it people, you only love him for evil dead
I first heard about Bruce after he did the voiceovers for the Spider-Man movie games. He made those tutorials perfect
Same here. It was a shame he never was in any of the movies as a nod to the games.
Spiteful64 He was, though. lol Maybe you're just being sarcastic or something.
@@leniobarcelos2264 You know, you're right! I forgot all about the scene with him as the waiter, I just looked it up! - He should've had a bigger part.
You know he was also the fighting tournament announcer in Spiderman 1, right? "What's your name kid?"
Spiteful64 he also was the Usher in Spider-Man 2.... he was going to have a bigger part in Spider-Man 4. He was going to be Mysterio
I saw Evil Dead as a teenager because of my brother. I'm so grateful to Sam and Bruce for giving us comedic horror. Bruce is a good person.
This interview is a person trying to dispel rumor and teach subtle truths
Very nicely done.
its a god damn shame ash vs evil dead was canceled
Love what he said about sequels. More people need to adopt this attitude.
Bruce: "it cut into my chin"
Also Bruce: points at the wrong side of the chin(you can clearly see his scar on the other side, which is also in the Army of Darkness footage)
Rushy to be fair it was a long ass time ago.
Edit: Actually that scar was from when he got hit with a swing as a kid
He has that scar even in his first movie, it's from his childhood, I guess that Army of Darkness accident didn't leave one :)
lots of times they flip the footage in videos, so either one of the footages could be flipped and it would look like he is pointing to the other side
that big scar is not the fight scene scar.
More or less makes him look more badass i guess.
i love how he still has that scar he got from making the movie, you know he did his own stunts.
Was that the big injury scar he mentions or another one?!
The scar on his chin is from getting hit by a swing when he was a kid
@@christiano3819 no from doing a stunt in army of darkness actually
@@naszirboyd9950 He has that scar even in Evil Dead, it's from his childhood :)
@@naszirboyd9950 Nope.
I once said "Gimme some sugar baby" to my girlfriend, she loved it, didn't even know what Evil Dead was
My girlfriend hated Ash (the character, not the actor). I only ever said the line when I wanted to piss her off. Not with her anymore :-)
@@RictusHolloweye probably for the best. Who in their right mind hates Ash....well besides deadites
Randall Wilkes I think you just answered your question she was a deadite
@@RictusHolloweye Haha, same here; she also hated when i said "groovy" or something. I'm not with her too :D
(Sorry for the bad english, regards)
@@randallwilkes7746 Deadites arent in their right minds too. So just further proves the theory.
Bruce Campbell is just great, he acts really young for his age just makes him look like hes in perfect health condition.
Zen Razor Grecian formula doesn't hurt either lol
LEGEND
I love Bruce Campbell, randomly watched evil dead as a teen on IFC and first time really falling in love with horror genre. Watching Ash"s character going from typical 80s pretty guy in horror movie to badass nothing to lose demon slayer all within one film. Kinda just worked cheesy, but t the kind of cheese you enjoy and want so much more of. Asu vs evil dead was purely to see Bruce Campbell be funny and enjoy acting .
I just realised that he'd make a great Michael De Santa for a GTA5 movie
Yeetimus Prime holy fuck he would be perfect
Or an even better Trevor
Now I cant unhear Michael's voice from Ash
Make a petition for this
there is an actual guy for that yknow.... just like trevor, franklin, laslo, so many
Bruce Campbell is the single most greatest actor that ever lived.
jim bob Tell that to Bill Murray
Bill Murray isn't an actor, he's Bill f-ng Murray.
Maybe I just haven't seen the right movies but I have never been a fan of Bill Murray, he's very meh in my mind
jim bob no he isn't, not even close. Aside from Ash what other great roles has he played that you love?
jim bob there are a lot better at acting then him, Marlon Brando for example. But he’s one of the best people who act.
Campbell!
@Jon Goat Yeah, fair point there.
I first saw Bruce Campbell in Hercules, and loved him and his character. Much later I saw him in evil dead, and it was awesome!
RaidenFreeman i saw evil dead first then the tv hercules... but did not make the connection years later since i was just a small kid. later on when i know then i started to watch other projects he is in and cant get enough of him.
Thank you for the many hours of pain and suffering you endured for our entertainment and for bringing one hell of a character to life for us.
Brisco County Jr. is one of the most underrated TV shows of all time!
Brruce Campbell for president.
Jim Williams I’d vote!
well he was Reagan in Fargo Season 2 :D
He'd make America groovy again.
Glad someone else is on board.

I'm from the future where the show is over - Bruce! You did not let us fans down. Thank you.
"Army Of Darkness" has always been one of my fav movies since it came out.
4:20 Bruce's chin doesn't bleed... The blood came from the breastplate! XD
He's as charming as ever, god DAMN
I think it's because he knows he has a good life. Sure he's not 'Kardashian' levels of famous, but he's nowhere near an actor who is struggling to look for work.
The only celebrity worth worshipping.
Except for he doesn't think himself as a celebrity and he doesn't want to be worshipped but if we had to I would sure worship him :D
drpapa26 Bill Murray is worthy as well
Hail to king ;)
drpapa26 Keanu Reeves is a legend. But most celebrities aren't down to Earth or modest. I blame the paparazzi or however it's spelled.
No words are more inaccurate than this, what about Christopher Lee who was an astounding solider, released a rock album in his 80s, got knighted, married a supermodel and has starred in over 100 films?
Often wondered if Bruce Campbell's left-handed. Cool to see he's a fellow lefty
Nobody's perfect.
Yeah, I'm a lefty too.
@@docsavage8640 ???
Same
he is. as seen on late knight talk shows.
Bruce Cambell seems like a really down to earth and amazing guy.
Hail to the chin baby
Bruce Campbell definitely seems like that actor who is chill af
he does have a temper too
My daughter met him at comiccon Calgary Alberta...Shes met so many actors and actresses.. and he was the most fun and sweetest human...he took the time for her conversation and a picture we love..Hes truly a sweetheart.
He's like the best father figure ever.
8:15 Like George Lucas fixed his movies haha Burn... lol
I too, Noticed... the Burn...
Bruce is one of the most genuine and coolest actors in the business. He's great in everything.
I'm so bummed out that they got cancelled. It took a long time to get my girlfriend into ash vs evil dead and stop thinking that ash was almost as cheesy as ernest. It was my mom who introduced me to army of darkness, and I know she would have loved the show...
Sorry you didn’t get to share that experience with her. I’m sure she’s out there stomping Deadites!
What do you mean “she would have loved the show”? Wait, don’t tell me......
they were actually planning 2 more seasons of ash vs evil dead but you know, STARZ owns it and canceled it
Ash is to Ernest as Duke Nukem is to Johnny Bravo
Hey! Nothing wrong with Ernest
“Shop smart . Shop S-Mart !!”
YA GOT THAT?!
Y-yes
If you don't shop s smart you big dumb
Bruce autographed our copy of Briscoe County at a book signing where our family was surrounded by Evil Dead fans. It was a highlight. I love that show and wish it had run longer.
Wow, did this guy age gracefully!
When they started saying Ashey slashey I started cracking up!
He still looks young for a 57 year old.
Such a good guy, probably one of the nicest people in the business, based on my very limited interaction with him and just every interview i've seen him do. Hope we can look forward to him sticking around for the foreseeable future
I like this guy. “There’s a reason I moved to rural Oregon...” hahaha
Bruce Campbell roasting redditors made my day
Truly groovy
Bubba Ho Tep is a classic. And I agree, not everything needs a sequel.
Sometimes movies are better without them, like people want Pulp Fiction 2 because they want to know whats in the brief case but it being unknown is way better.
Bruce really lives the life up in Oregon.
This guy is my hero
bruce cambell just has to be one of the collest actors ever. ive heard hes a super nice guy too.
"Which role has been the closest to just playing yourself?"
Bruce Campbell, who has played himself in a movie: "This western show hero that only like 5 people including the guy writing this remember"
Its a good show
Brisco County Jr.? I remember watching that show when I was in high school, in the early 90s.
@@Hengebobs Got the box DVD set sitting on my shelf right now. It is still a good show, though I watched it when I was in Pre-K
My dad and I loved that show. When I was growing up.
It's still one of my top 10 favorite TV shows.
I love this man. unique old school american charisma.
He is the absolute best person to have at a comic con, best panels I've been to
I would have loved to know more about his experience in Burn Notice. Loved that series.
I agree! He was an excellent part of the cast and by far my favorite.
Lonely enough to go on Reddit nice.
"It's also ok not to make a sequel"....thank you!!
I feel as if I'm the only one who still remembers Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe
I was hoping he'd say that was his most like-him role.
I feel like I am the only one who still remembers him as Brisco County Jr. which was the character most like him, according to Bruce.
Watched the whole series on my weeks off in October.
Was just about to comment that :D huge fan of the series and only knew him from Burn Notice. Tho I did know about Ash vs Evil Dead
Sam Axe was one of the best parts of Burn Notice! Yeah.
It’s funny that someone asked him if Ash still had that necklace, and In the third season, it showed that he did
_"I get lonely enough to go on Reddit, that's pretty lonely"_
ha ha ha... *cries in quarantine*
part of me feels like he don’t even know how cold that was 😂😂🔥
I think Bruce misunderstood the question at 5:03 because the questioner probably wanted to know whether the character still loves Linda and kept the necklace as a reminder.
Is it possible he has to keep something plot related secret for the new show so smoothly dodged the question?
fieldy409
He should have said, who knows or something like that, it would have been easier.
Didn't he throw that while burying Linda? Or am I misrembering details? ('guess it's that time of the year to rewatch the trilogy...)
No, I think he got it, he's saying, "why the fuck would _I_ know the answer to that question? I'm the actor, I read the lines given to me, I know literally just as much as you guys do." I feel like those questions are more so for the writers or people who at least had input in that area.
I'm a simple man : I see Bruce Campbell,I like the video.
"I wanna fix Ash like George Lucas fixed Star Wars"
You don't wanna do that
It's almost like he was kidding.
This guy is cool incarnate :) Bill Murray is his only equal! We need a Bruce and Bill movie stat!
yes!
+Clark Kent Disagree. Patrick Warburton is exactly 3.86 times cooler than Murray.
I know that you're Superman... what do I win?
Oh I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm not him. I don't even look like him plus I'm absolutely terrified of heights :)
I can remove my hat sure but it's best that I keep my glasses on as I'm nearsighted. I mean I could stumble and fall or worse I could hurt someone by bumping into them. Safer that way.
I like that he speaks his mind. I will always treasure the Army of Darkness movies and the Evil Dead series
Man, you are one of my all time favorite actors. You are so underrated, and ahead of your time, with your technique.
Bruce Campbell is the voice in the Spider-Man video game that helps you in the tutorial. Honestly I’ve played the tutorial way more than the game just because of him
