Here I thought Hannah would be falling asleep like TTR listeners but NO she is on her A-game, fulfilling her vocation as a faithful Christian, God be praised! 🙏

Praise be to Jesus as he promised to stand with us when we are judged and are judged righteous because of Him. Amen Amen

Thanks for the reminder that if we have Jesus, we have everything we need!

10:30 Happiness/Money Bell Curve- Reminds me of the Proverb somewhere “Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me my daily bread; lest I be rich and forget God, or lest I be poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of Yahweh.”

Glad to hear the young theologian riding with you share the wisdom she's been graced with.
But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.
    Luke 16:25 NKJV
Yes, this is not our Best Life Now. This temporal stuff is not our "Good things".

A man is walking in the forest. Suddenly there’s a bear chasing him and he starts running. He realises that he’s not able to outrun the bear so he starts praying. “Dear god please make this bear a Christian.”
Then he hears the bear starts singing the meal prayer...
    Boom! You’re welcome.

I'd be fascinated if you discussed how Luther's sermon on usury applies to our circumstances today.

I too would welcome this topic. I think usury is one of the most prevalent sin committed by our nation before the abortion industry we've created.

Interesting, I like the Anglican collar, too.

Pastor, is your collar different? Do pastors who did extra classes in theology at seminary get them? I really don't know. Also, out here in NY, my LCMS pastors have colored shirts. I've seen gray and dark forest green. Is this odd?

I think, maybe it is odd. Upstate is a tough place to find readers of the Book of Concord. We are getting a fair number in CT though, maybe soon NY will start filling out with more baby pastors that read the Book of Concord. 😁👍

“We instinctively know that after death there is judgment”. This quote single-handedly destroyed any credibility you have. But I’m guessing you’ll just accuse anyone who disagrees with you of lying about what they know and how they feel. Maybe everyone around you instinctively believes that there is judgment after death because you threaten them as small children of burning in hell forever for not following your religion. And after this you wonder why people like Epicurus run away from you like running from a fire.

Depends on what judgment means. In Hebrew the court system wasn’t based on guilt or innocence but on apportioning damages to injured party. I think this is correct.
