Rebecca & Megan Lovell of Larkin Poe are singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist sisters creating their own brand of roots rock ‘n’ roll: gritty, soulful, and flavored by their southern heritage. Originally from Atlanta and currently living in Nashville, they are descendants of tortured artist and creative genius Edgar Allan Poe. In any normal year, Larkin Poe would have released an acclaimed new album and then hit the road for a very long time. But of course, 2020 was no ordinary year. The Grammy Award-nominated sister duo kicked things off in June with their fifth studio album, Self Made Man, topping an array of Billboard charts while earning unanimous acclaim around the world. When Larkin Poe released Self Made Man, it was in the wake of a remarkable two-year run that saw them earn a #1 Billboard Blues Chart album and a “Best Contemporary Blues Album” Grammy Award nomination for 2018’s Venom & Faith. But instead of a summer of tour buses and packed theaters, the Atlanta-bred, Nashville-based Lovells found themselves at home in 2020, performing many livestream concerts and adding to their much-loved UA-cam covers series. That got them thinking, and now we have Larkin Poe’s second album of 2020: Kindred Spirits, a collection of stripped-back versions of covers, both classic and new. No one knows what this next year holds but rest assured Larkin Poe will find ways to keep it fun and interesting for everyone, for, as they say, “we are all kindred spirits.”

It's a Friday afternoon in mid-November. I'm sat in a corner of my favourite bar in a small English town, a pint in hand, headphones on, and with my tablet on the table, watching and listening to my favourite American sisters, as they deliver a concert worthy session, all just for me ! Is this heaven ??

Larkin Poe are such a great band. They were on the bill of Blues Cruise I took in 2019. They played constantly and beautifully. They played with virtually every other musician and were arguably the most popular act, amongst Peter Frampton, Philip Sayce and Joe Bonamassa. And they're as charming as they are talented, which is saying something in both cases. They are breakout superstars and wonderful human beings.

That voice is penetrating. Knoxville is gorgeous and traveling through those Southern highways with an old guitar case and a 62 Gibson SG brings back fond memories. North Georgia Mountains, Apple Orchards in the Carolinas and stealing me÷ma's. Car in the Seveirville Mountains can't be bought.

its really fantastic that the less production you put on these 2, the better they sound. some genius improv bits all over this performance. Megan on fire with her solos. Rebecca going to church with the embellished harmonies on the vocals. too bad they didn't do "might as well be me". i think that is my all time favorite tune of theirs.

Has Rebecca played the special 'Wanted Woman' guitar yet?
A good friend of mine, Billy, built an electric guitar in 2022 for Rebecca, Larkin Poe. It is not an ordinary guitar, but with Art, so painted, with a pointing drawing, an image of Rebecca and the text 'Wanted Woman', so a lot of work… . Billy gave the guitar to Rebecca at the Dutch BosPop Weert festival on July 10, 2022. A Larkin Poe tour manager took a photo of Rebecca and Billy together with the 'Wanted Woman' guitar at the handover ceremony. This photo was supposed to be sent to Billy, but nothing has been received yet. Billy would of course love to know if Rebecca played the guitar, what she thinks about it and where the guitar is now. Who can help us find an answer to that? Rebecca, hopefully you read this message!
