Thank you for showing the fields and horizon the sun setting it is very beautiful and have not been in Scotland since a trip one summer in 1976 a very very hot summer
Thank you mate! 30 minutes of fun!❤❤❤❤ I can’t wrap my head around hunting a field where any little bit of metal could be a relic from any point of history. My mind just spins.
Happy Crimbo John, glad you got your 10 coins! Loved the palm guard...and its funny, the shape of those little knobs remind me of game pieces On SORRY..fun game..x Cathy
Another great video you guys, thank you for sharing and entertaining us subscribers over the past 12 months, have a great Christmas and look forward to watching you both in the new year
Tell Simon to keep his headphones inside his jacket until he puts them on, and to put them on under his wool cap. Maybe they'll stay warm enough to work. Cheers and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all from New Orleans
Thanks for another great year. Never knew why they were called Yankee doodle dandy in the song, till you found dandy buttons and explained what they were about
Brilliant video again John, just would like to wish you a Very Happy Christmas and a Great New year and definitely looking forward to your next adventure.

Santa Simon 😂😂 Great video. I love you two out and about together 🙂 Hope you, Simon and both your families have a great Christmas 🎄 and a Happy New Year 🎊🎆
Poor old Wales was conquests by England and the Prince of wales title was created. Wales isn't included in the coat of arms because when Wales was incorporated into the United Kingdom, Wales was legally a part of England due to the Laws in Wales Acts 1535 and 1542. This means Wales did not become a part of the Union willingly and as a separate nation in the way Scotland did but they do get represented on some coins with a leek! Yes the vegetable!!
Very Nice Half crown Feliz Navida to Simon pratice 20 years more and you Will on Johns level perhaps😂😂😂😂 Will John dig out s Bottle of Whiskey This X Mas?! Stay tuned❤😜😱🔝❤️🎄
John the Medallion looks like it could be a Dundee Commemorative for the Kings Coronation Dundee with the King and Queen on one side and the shield on the other looks like the Crest of Dundee that features two Dragons and pot flowers Iilies on the opposite side found in various locations and there are a number of Dundee medals out there one is for the opening of Baxter Park in Dundee 😮
Sorry this is not metal detecting related but what sort of stalk stubble is in field? I used to go bird hunting with my grandfather and we had a few permissions way back then to go into farmer's fields after harvests and stepped thru many fields hunting doves or quail or rabbits along hedgerows or creeks
Getting close to the new year….who wants to start a poll on what day the first silver of the year is dug up? My guess is January 3rd Happy Christmas, cheers, and ATB!
You’ve probably dug a million more holes than me but I’ve had one of those shovels & on quite a few of the targets you are digging 2 inches or so away from the target (forward) I think . Just an observation not a criticism.. don’t want you doing yourself in !
Awesome day John. Thanks for taking us along!

John forgive me if you have answered this in the past, why was Wales not represented on older coins?.
@ Thanks so much for that John, really appreciated. ❤️❤️

72°F in Texas.. we haven't had any ice or frost yet, where i live. Bees and ants still flying and crawling around
That dandy button is not a button but a medallion from a necklace
Brilliant video and finds. Best wishes to you both and good luck for 2025
Tell Simon I have had trouble with batteries in the cold. Maybe needs a different brand?
Thanks Robin. I’ll let him know. I think the batteries are sealed in it? But I’ll check. Have a great Christmas 🎅🏻
The large silver half crown has to be an exciting find been buried for years even if it's not very old it's made the year my brother was born
Great going guys and Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Thanks John. Merry Christmas
So when does sunset arrive about 3 to 4 pm being so far north? It has to be a chore in winter to get much done outdoors slim times for sunup to sunset
Sorry this is not metal detecting related but what sort of stalk stubble is in field? I used to go bird hunting with my grandfather and we had a few permissions way back then to go into farmer's fields after harvests and stepped thru many fields hunting doves or quail or rabbits along hedgerows or creeks
👍👍
Many thanks ☺️
I.'m Sorry but that Half Crown didn't look like it had been in the Ground very Long ??🤔
I’d guess some time after 1945 but the great tarnish debate continues. What part of the world do you detect in?
Half crown is a belter John..don't know what the chappie above is saying?? That ye planted it yersel....🤔🤔🤔
Getting close to the new year….who wants to start a poll on what day the first silver of the year is dug up?
My guess is January 3rd
Happy Christmas, cheers, and ATB!
Half crown in 1952 would be cooper nickel I know cause I found a 49 here in the states and it was orange I was so pissed I can’t begin to tell you
john we called then 2 and half bobs
You’ve probably dug a million more holes than me but I’ve had one of those shovels & on quite a few of the targets you are digging 2 inches or so away from the target (forward) I think . Just an observation not a criticism.. don’t want you doing yourself in !
hi john
👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 hi
✌️🤍
You can’t find a big silver like that and not say YOU BEAUTY! In your accent
I'm sure I seen a coin in hole when john was saying "silver in morning".
I did re-check it so I hope not, but you know me!!
