I love the road’s through the Rocky Mountains. Been a few times and back on my list for 2023
Wow, hard to believe how long it's been since I was in Rocky Mtn. National Park, hiked up to Lawn Lake and made the mistake of heading further up to take photos from the ridge, forgetting how deceptive distance is at that altitude as well as how fast it gets dark when the sun goes down! Got back to the camping area and couldn't find my pack in the dark!
This was very similar to the route we took back in '17, but we started in Vernal and went east through Waldon to Fort Collins then south into Loveland. That highway 14 from Waldon to Fort Collins was incredible.
I love Boulder and Estes Park. Lumpy Ridge brewery is pumping out some good brews.
Excellent video. Looking forward to the rest of the trip.
Thx
Glad you enjoyed this area on your trip, passed my place up US36 in that canyon haha. Love riding those double lanes.
Old fall river is such a fun scenic route in the park 😎
If you never have been to southern CO I recommend it
Those views and riding looked amazing, hope you guys are well
Very Nice. Appreciate the high quality vids!
Thx
Thanks for the ride along and video
Awesome! Traveled the same roads in Rocky National Park just a few weeks after you. I didn't realize you had to have reservations to get in the park after 9 a.m.! Ended up riding around the Park and stayed in Granby went over the pass the next morning on pavement, then back up on the dirt road to visitor center. Beautiful, but heights freaked me out a bit!! The last few switch backs...intense!
We had a reservation if we needed it but purposefully got to the park before 9:00 anyway.
Awe man those views!!! I really wanna ride out there but at this point I’ll take a car or train. Lol
Another great vid! 👍🏾
7:30 makes the point you are no longer in Kansas... a good, no great, thing. I rode into Vernal last summer to begin a rafting trip. That stretch from Dinosaur to Vernal was memorable for the locusts. A plague of them, by the millions. My helmet and jacket with covered with them. But memorable rides are why we ride.
Glad we didn’t have to deal with locusts
Nice, will hit it in about 6 months when i go x country on the tat. Thx for the videos
That dirt road riding was a little sketchy for me!!!!!!!! Great video
Thanks Dave.
Awesome ride Mario and Angela
Definitely a fun day!
Nice, Ride safe
Man that was some beautiful scenery to ride through. Kinda of makes the straight boring part worth it.
Yeah, you quickly forget about the boring parts in the previous days.
rocky mountain NP looks incredible. might just have to take a CC trip some day
Wish I would’ve got there in 2015 but happy to finally get there
Good to see those tires in the dirt! Was cool seeing Steamboat Springs without all the snow.
Just noted Angela's plate, cool, 2wr Grl
Wow I wish I had known you guys were out here. Tons of great riding around Estes for sure. I used to work at the Stanley Hotel. I hope you guys come back soon.
We'll definitely be back
I was wondering if the NPS allowed bikes on Old Fall River Road. And now I know! It is on the list of my "out west rides." Too bad I didn't know you were riding this; I would have tried to tag along!! Fun ride, no? I have driven that road in my truck and thought it would make for a fun ride!
Gone to CO every year since 91. I found that the non paved roads have better scenery. However the best scenery is on the hiking trails. Hiked many trails with my uncle over the years.
Great video can't wait to go back next year
what gps mount are you using on your bike? I have a Tomtom rider gps that came with a Ram mount, I don't like that it has to be mounted on the handlebar. I want to install one like yours
I’ve since switched to a Zumo XT but still using the same mount ua-cam.com/video/Yl0NtMU0ghI/v-deo.html
Just curious. Do you ever ask/apply for permission to fly your drone in a NP? The Fall River Rd would have been spectacular.
Just curious if the application process is worth it. Being close to the Blue Ridge Parkway here in NC, I'd love to fly mine while riding. Even though it's not a NP, since it's controlled by the NPS drone flying is prohibited without permission. Thanks!
Didn’t ask
@2 Wheeled Rider I'm going yo apply for grins and see how it goes.
