Orchid Fertilizer
The hybrid dendrobiums are about to put out spikes. Generally I fertilize only my hybrid orchids.
I use the brand Orchid boon. They have one fertilizer for growth and another for blooms. The Orchid boon fertilizer is very effective in case of my orchids. They have shown visible results in terms of growth and blooms in my orchids.
I keep the concentration on the weaker side. I dissolve 5 gms of the fertilizer in one bucket of water.
For my bare rooted vanda orchids, I soak the orchids in the solution for about 20 minutes.
For potted orchids I spray the solution in the media which can be soaked up by the roots gradually.
For orchids that are potted and sitting on humidity trays, I pour the solution in the medium which gets collected in the tray. The roots soak the solution as long as 20 minutes and then I use the remaining solution in my other flowering plants.
I generally use the growth booster fertilizer once a month during growth period.I use the bloom booster fertilizer in an interval of 20 days.
it is generally advisable to refrain from fertilizing during rains as it will simply wash away the fertilizer from the media.

Thank you very much for sharing knowledge of taking care of Archids it's really helpful
Thankyou for the video . Pls share the price of the fertilizers .
Both cost Rs 330.00
can you speak about black spots on leaves like @5:58
The orchid on which the leaves have spots is the dendrobium farmeri. It was bought from a local nursery where it was growing in full sun. Those spots are sunburns as told by the nursery owner. New leaves do not have these spots and the orchid is growing properly.
From how long you are growing Archids and can I know which place you belong to
It's been 15 years since I am growing orchids.
@@MyOrchidWorld nice to know your love about Archids, I can learn many tips and trics from you, thank you very much for responding
I have sonia variety. But does not bloom for 1 year. Is fertilizer soaking mandatory for this variety. Does it boom in 50 percent shade net?
Sonia is a hybrid dendrobium orchid which grows well in bright filtered light. Too much shade can make dendrobium refrain from blooming.
Also, hybrid orchids need regular fertlizing for proper growth and blooming. Soaking method helps the orchid to take up fertilizer properly bcoz if you just run down the fertilizer solution, it will quickly drain away without giving time to the orchid to soak it up.
