Quietly as it's kept, most of us would probably agree with you. (Smile)
No disrespect to CitizenCycle, but she's way more visually appealing.
      Just my opinion. (Smile)
That said, CitizenCycle isn't too hard on the eyes either. LOL!
      Stay safe and healthy.

Thanks for posting this. As a 65 yr old woman, who's 5'5", seat height has been my biggest concern in selecting an Ebike. In my younger years I rode motorcycles, and the fact that I couldn't put both feet firmly on the ground was always troubling to me, especially in city traffic with a lot of stop lights. I needed to see this visual, kudos to your wife for helping us out.

Just a note, a 26X4 fat tire Ebike handles better at higher speeds and smooths out the bumps a little more. (I have had both)

  • @Campfussell

Amen, I like my feet planted firmly when I come to a stop, and it's more important to me than full leg extension. I do love to pedal and with the help of the motor there's just no need to worry about leg extension, as I'm out just to enjoy the ride and the breeze. That says something for the Aventon, if Mrs Citizen likes it better than the Magicycle.

Useful video Citizen. I had the same problem with 2 models of Ebikes I tried. When manufacturers claim that their ebikes are suitable for riders from i.e. 5'5 and up, in most cases it isn't true. They should go by leg inseam size and NOT the overall height of the rider. Two people can have the same height, but one can have longer legs and the other a longer torso. If one wants good control of their bike, they should NOT be riding a bike (especially a heavy ebike) if they can't plant their feet firmly on the ground when completely stopped. Thanks.

Great Video! I’m 5’2”, 72 years old with chronic joint pain. I own a Cyrusher Kommoda and a Lectric Lite. For comfort and long rides, I love my Kommoda the best, but for tooling around a campground, Quick trips, ease of transport, I absolutely love my Lectric Lite! The smaller 350 motor, 1 gear and smaller battery doesn’t phase me at all. I did put a front shock on the Lectric and a great suspension seat post with a Cloud 9 seat. I also added “David Brand New’s” Turtle Neck stem and his BMX handlebars and now the Lectric is my favorite! The BMX bars put them closer to me, for more comfort and better control. I like the narrow tires (2.5”) because the bike is lighter and I can control it better than my Kommoda. Even with the added weight of my changes, I can still lift it up onto my bike rack or fold it up to put in my car. I love both bikes! Thank you, Mr. Citizen, for helping me along the way to finding which eBike was best foe me. Before I bought the Kommoda, I remember it was your dad’s favorite when he tested a lot of your bikes. His decision swayed me towards the Kommoda! Thanks, Dad!

Thank you for this video. It is probably one of the most useful ones for me as I am looking at getting my first ebike. I am a disabled Veteran and also a long hauler (COVID lungs) and need something to get me out exercising. I'm 55 years young so stable is what I need and between the Aventon Aventure 2 and the Cyrusher Kommoda I may have found the ebikes to look at. So thank you for the video and thinking outside the box on things buyers need to think about other than speed and hill climbing.

My son has the Wired Cruiser and even though I am 5 10, I have short legs and the high bottom bracket caused a problem for me. What really helped was a setback seatpost that gives me a couple extra inches of leg extension to pedal with the seat closer to the ground, so I can at least reach the street with my tippytoes when i am sitting on the bike. It also makes the pedaling position more like the Townie bikes, which is more comfortable for me.

My wife is sized similar to yours and I’m almost 6’ 4”. When researching e-bikes 2 years ago I had the same concerns for my wife and the frame size on the typical $1,000 to $1500 bikes. I ended up buying her a Lectric Step-thru, and she LOVES it. I was impressed enough with the quality to purchase the XP 2.0 a few months later. So far, so good.

It's interesting. As a bicycle rider, I never really worried about my feet being flat on the ground at a stop. I think I naturally popped forward off the seat and stood, or one footed it if I stayed on the seat. As an ebike rider, I find myself wanting to stay on the seat, like your girlfriend does. Interesting that the Aventure was her fave coz that's not a small bike. But I noticed how low the seat went compared to others. Very low. (I'm 6'4" by the way!! Haha)

Good subject. The thing about a step through frame is you just have to teach yourself to slide off the seat forward when you come to a stop. It's a learning curve if you're not used to it after years of riding a standard frame. At least it is for me nowadays that I can't swing my leg over a full size ebike anymore

Hi Brian! Beyond helpful video as always. Have you happened to ever try a Randride ebike? I’m in the market for a pocket rocket versatile ebike and they seem to have great options when it comes to mountain ebikes - ideal dimensions, not too heavy and very competitive pricing for the power output. Almost seems too good to be true and the scarce feedback I’ve found does seem positive (it’s a newer Chinese company established in 2018 and apparently never gained much publicity at all). Legitimate reviews on those are basically nonexistent on UA-cam and possibly even the whole internet. I’d really appreciate any input as I value your channel which has been an outstanding knowledge bank for me to get into the ebiking scene.

Love your video! But need your help!
My wife and I are looking to buy two bikes of same brand and are considering the Aventon Aventure2 and the Wired Freedom. I am 6’2” and my wife is 5’4”. I know your wife mentions that the Wire Freedom is too powerful for her, which is now the concern my wife has after watching your video. My wife is afraid of too much power on the wired freedom so I am curious to know if you drop the power on the wire for freedom will your wife like it more than the Advent adventure 2 or if she still prefers it. My concern with the adventure2 is that it only has a 15 amp battery, low range, and that the writing position for me will cause me to bend down more where the Freedom will allow me to ride more in upright position.
We really appreciate your help with this.

I feel for your wife I'm barely 5'2", I have a HeyBike Ranger. I have to slightly tilt the bike to get my seat partially in the seat and then put my left foot on the pedal and then throttle. Still kinda scary at times

I would not classify your wife as short. This video needs a person 5’2 or shorter to test. I am 5’ and struggle.

I agree I think the average height for a woman is about 5’4 under 5’2. Is considered petite

I am 5'3" with legs on the shorter side. I can barely touch my toes on my Ocelot Pro with seat at the lowest setting. I am older so like the confidence of feet on the ground!

I’m 5’2” with shoes. I know I’m going to need a step through but I am riding in very rocky conditions, with steep hills. I also want to be able to travel with it to sandy vacation areas. I prefer speed and power. What do you and your viewers suggest?

Can you add Bandit X-TRAIL PRO for 40+ mph review with short person test as one test of the test. I am 5’4” and need these type of review.

Great video. My wife and I are also about a foot apart in height. Do you know the frame size of the Aventure that you have?

I actually thought the Freedom would be worse for her. If you removed the rear rack I think she'd be more comfortable getting on and off. I think she didnt like it because of power. Personally, I want all the power, I just want a smaler bike

Can have her test out more of the E moto brands like Surron, Telaria, light bee, and The Cyclone CS20 from E strapz? I’m 5’4 and really want to get the CS20, wanna make sure it isn’t too big

Unfortunately i dont know anyone with those bikes, and it would be tough to get her on them, she doesnt like large or powerful bikes.

My wife is 5’1 and not very confident on a bike. I got her a Rad Mini step thru two years ago and she loved it. She also wanted more of a real bike feel so I just bought her a Trek MTB mid-drive e-bike. It’s only 48 lbs compared to the 70 lb hub motors. Most of the Hybrid bikes she tried had higher 29” wheels but the MTB had 27”.We added fenders and a rack to convert it more into a street bike.

you can set it for a slow start so its not so punchy off the line, you can also decrease the max speed if you want.

''minute 2:08'' even with the step through design (you can't really say it's too tall while also attempting to sit on the bike) if someone in this case only 5/4 stands up and can hang on to the bike comfortably at a stop sign or intersection, than it might be fine for that person, I think the key is the weight of the Ebike relative to a person's arm strength, I would like to have seen your wife
hang on to the first e bike demonstration for 30 seconds (simulating say waiting at a red light) while standing up 3 or 4 inches forward off the seat:
