I am currently collecting deck cores for both 2007 formats to play with my friends. It was a little before we all started playing, so I hope they keep an open mind and can appreciate how great of a year this was for the game. Highly underrated in my opinion.
For context purposes, it's worth noting that at SJC Washington D.C., you could discard a Zombie from your hand for Zombie Master's effect and then target the card you discarded. You didn't even need to have a Zombie card in your graveyard to activate Zombie Master's effect. This ruling was later changed, but it was pivotal to the deck's success at this event.
I doubt anyone is going to read this or care, but have a bit of trivia: The yugioh 2008 world championship video game is basically a snapshot of perfect circle format, it uses the same banlist and the card pool stops right before phantom darkness. The thing is, it is missing quite a few cards, mostly stuff like chess archfiends or guardians. Now, how is this relevant to card of safe return zombies? Well, one of the missing cards is _zombie master_ which makes it _impossible_ to make this deck. Perfect circle, CO burn, baboon burn and all of the other relevant decks can be built and played in game, but this specific meta deck cannot.
We just ordered the rest of the cards for this deck last week. Stoked to play it. Also, when was Zombie Master re-ruled to no longer require a legal target at activation?
@@dabarker.y7465 I'll try and watch any retro channel I can. I'd like there to be representation for more formats than just Goat, so I'll support people who are trying to make that happen. And thanks for watching!
Dont quote me on this, but i think that the requirement to have a valit target in the graveyard before you activate the effect of zombie master/lumina was changed by the end of 2008
Do you know where i can find the old Zombie Master ruling? I want to play Zombies in a Perfect Circle Tournament and want something for confirmation. Great Video like always i really like how you structure your videos and the quick overview about all the other decks you could have faced in this format.
@@YGOHistory thank you very much lets hope i do well with the deck. The old ruling makes Zombie Master very powerful even through the ruling makes no sense in my opinion.
@@YGOHistory best decision I could have made when I started collecting deck cores was to make sure they are all in the same sleeves, lol. Saves so much time.
Saw this deck a lot at locals when I was in high school. There legit was a point were every deck you saw played 3x cyber dragon.
It was obviously an amazing card - but maybe a tad overrated at times.

love the content. Remember the last time I played competitively was when i net decked your YCS long beach heroes and won my locals.
Good decision! That deck was awesome.
I just literally got all the cards in the mail yesterday for this. Perfect upload timing!
Love the deck and the format. Another great video Joe!
Thanks!

I did mention that at the very end! In retrospect, maybe it should have been at the beginning.
@@YGOHistory ah I made it up to 18:00 before I just decided to post that... Go figure!
@@kperovic It was on me for not mentioning it earlier!
@ΣΑΛΟΣ ΚΟΧΑΟΤ Thank you for the love, brother! Hope all is well with you in Greece. Beautiful country!

Joe do you use matte black sleeves?
For my binders - yes. That way I never sleeve anything for these videos

Ppl forget that 150 dollars in 2007 was worth a lot more than in 2021 lol
For sure. Makes $300 DADs even worse!
Is this an edison deck?
No. That deck would be closer to the 2009 Diva Zombie deck.
