I genuinely don't know how anyone could have anything negative to say about your channel. Being plus size I find it impossible to dress classy when all of today's clothes are so revealing. Hear hear, too many people get triggered by a title when the content is the important stuff. Plus, how could you misinterpret that title🤷‍♀️ It is a guide to styling with do’s and don’t, it is a opinion and let’s have diversity of opinion. Granted I’m an old stylist, so I know the advise Lydia gives is classic and well thought out.

Lydia, I have followed your style advice on some of the most important days of my life. My college commencement speech, interviewing for my dream job, *working* as the youngest person in my company at that dream job, my father’s funeral, and more recently as a witness in a high-profile trial. Your advice has never steered me wrong.
You help me illustrate my competence and you help me leave a positive impression when it matters most. I will always be grateful that you choose to share your insights here online.
*edit* Constructive criticism has its utility, but those people are just being critical in a way that adds no value to your work in my opinion. Forget the nitpicking out there. “Do’s and Don’ts is an extremely common figure of speech in this context. You yourself have also said that sometimes there are style rules (or style “don’ts”) that you like to break. We know you’re not out here preaching absolutes in something as expressive as fashion. Don’t even sweat it.
Again, thank you for everything, genuinely! I hope you never stop doing whatever your heart guides you to do. ❤️ Much love from Texas 🌵

Ive never thought you were being preachy with the dos/donts, I love how you break down what is ‘working’ or what is not. For people like myself, who are not in the fashion industry but love fashion, it helps so much to understand why sometimes an outfit may not be looking as great but do not understand why! You have a fantastic way of simplifying things and I really enjoy your content ☺️

Great video, Lydia! Appreciate how you showed what kind of boots go with trousers. I tend to just pair my trousers with pumps, so this was real helpful. I found your channel last year and starting loving trousers again because of you. If I may make a suggestion, please have the "dont" outfit beside the "do" outfit (in a split screen) after each clip. Seeing them side by side would really emphasize the contrast/ changes you made.

"Dos and don'ts"...please use it, Lydia!! It's concise and most English and ESL speakers understand precisely what it means. I sure do. That said, I would ask those who disagree to come forward with their perception of what in the world could be more clear...AND, and, and be more universally understood. We're not talking life and death or planet-wide extinction here! So, tick tock people let's hear it...I'll wait. 😉

Fixing an imbalanced-proportioned outfit just by adding a long coat doesn’t really do it because the coat is ok while you’re on your way somewhere, but once you get there, you have to take off your coat and you’re going to have the same problem

I, personally, am grateful when someone like you tells me the do’s and don’t. I love beautiful clothes and fashion and have always been able to dress within my budget but I do, often, get overwhelmed wondering what goes with what, etc, and it helps when someone points out these things. The fact that you do it in a no-nonsense yet friendly way is a bonus and I wonder at these ‘sensitive ‘ individuals always ready to take offence. We live in a world in which just saying no to someone sends them into trauma so my suggestion is carry on the way you have done and don’t bother about the small % of easily offended ninnies.

Then you have the outfit that doesn't make total sense without the coat.

Love, love these dos and don’ts videos. Have you ever thought about doing a tutorial on how to take slightly dated cuts or silhouettes and cheat, in a way, to make them look more current? I find that I usually only have one or two of the current items but never the whole look and then I get stymied on how to pull that look off with what I already have.
Maybe a “how to tweak and wear your dated booties with today’s slouchy trousers”. Haha, not sure I’m being super clear on what I’m thinking… Anyway, love your content!

This was a very good video. I’m chubby and short so it’s very difficult to balance. Time to play in my closet! Don’t worry about the negative reviews you really are making a difference. Thanks 🦋

Not sure why anyone would get worked up about do’s and donts. It’s your show !

    Very well explained. Thanks!!
But one question: you give the advice to put a wider coat over smaller tops and trousers. Looks very good as long as you aren't in a restaurant or in a friends house for example where you have to put the coat off. Then you will have the same problem as before...🤔

Omg so ridiculous that someone would make a comment about your “do’s and don’ts”! Move on if you don’t like it but no need to be negative. Keep doing you girl!

Thank you, Lydia. All great tips, as usual. I liked how you paired the wide leg Reiss trousers with the Marcela London jumper. I quite liked how the wide legs and the wide sleeves marry together. Have a great Sunday!

I love your incredibly chic/edgy style Lydia and how you mix the right pieces so effortlessly. I have learnt so much from all your videos and like all the formats you present them in too. I find it very useful when you break down looks with do's and don'ts and I can see where I need to make changes. Thank you for your top notch content! You've helped me become more confident as I applied your tips and found my style. Also, you have a lovely voice and I like that you're talking throughout the outfit reels/bits and not just showing visuals. Love from India❤

This is my first video I've seen of yours and I don't understand the complaints, you're very objective and give comprehensive advice focused on clear aesthetically driven draping. It's like interior design, just with clothing. I also wonder what the issue is with dos and don'ts, it's not like anyone is having a gun pointed at them with their lives on a line. Clothes are fabrics they fall a certain way and they can fall flatteringly or not, what one does with the advice is their choice. Where is your agency if you feel personally attacked by this? And I now realise I sound as if I was personally attacked haha. Really enjoyed this video!

However, I would advise you to pay attention to the colours as well! You are so light and warm (light spring), you look gorgeous in light and warm colours like camel. Please, don't go for too dark and cold colours like grey. Black is also too heavy for you, although you are always beautiful 🌺

Lydia, I’m watching this video for the second time. Love your dos and d‘onts as I love the videos where you show us how to break those rules. I little of common sense is required of course but your guidelines help me everyday when I get undecided. They just opened my eyes to some details that never crossed my mind. I did received compliments already, but now I get them more and more. Your channel made my shopping and dressing process so much quicker and I’m much more confident with the final result. Good job 👏
