I still say “Son of a BEE STING!” The way she does at work all the time. No one gets it but it kills me. One of my fave sketch’s! Also: “Banana’s & Cheddar!” Or “ Cheese and CRACKERS!” 😂😂
I want them to do a whole mockumentary about Lulu Diamonds and have Melissa do fake film clips and being interviewed as an old lady, and have SNL vets be film critics and filmmakers influenced by Lulu Diamonds. That'd be amazing.
For those looking for a specific reference, Mae West did _She Done Him Wrong_ , based on a Broadway play _Diamond Lil_ that she also wrote. The movie's not amazing, but her character is.
I love Jason Sudekis and honestly miss him on SNL sometimes (although I’m glad he left because if he didn’t, we wouldn’t have the masterpiece that is Ted Lasso)
Melissa did sketch comedy with the Groundlings for decades. She probably had this character ready to go and wanted to show off her physical comedy skills.
0:46 "Do Not, Not Disturb" 2:03 "Do Not Disturb Me Not" (1940) 3:05 "Disturb Me in An Hour" Gotta love those movie titles. Funny, the fourth one, Lulu's last movie, has no name.

Poor Melissa must have been SO bruised and battered after shooting this, all that falling down stairs. She is wonderful in it though. I love how she uses her size and just OWNS it.
There's something so charming and gut bustingly hilarious about someone taking multiple pratfalls down half a flight of stairs. Physical comedy at its most pure!
@ 3:25 "Oh Lulu why don't we just do it down here? Yea, we can just put down some towels." LOL The three gents were hilarious, too. Melissa McCarthy just does not miss.
I've been on an SNL binge, and I just discovered this glorious sketch. As a fan of TCM and 1930s movies, this is absolutely hysterical to me. I don't know what I find the funniest - the repeated falling down the stairs, the 1930s slang, the exclamation of "Oh, Lulu, no!", or Robert Osborne's comments. This is genius comedy.
Son of a Bee sting hahahaha.. I lose it every single time she takes that last fall 😂 I'd give anything to spend a day with this woman. Shes the funniest actress in the world right now. Right up there with Lucielle Ball and Betty White ❤
I feel horrible today, but this made me laugh so hard and does it every time. "Come up and see me up here, where I already am. Thank Goodness!" AHAHAHAHAHA
This has superior rewatchability. And lives rentfree in my brain when i climb stairs (unless it is an escalator then i think of mitch hedberg) and sometimes i think of russian doll....and walk slower down the stairs.

I believe it was simply titled, "Disturbed."
Its called "Why don't you come up and see me up here where I already am thank goodness"
