jrvbamafan1 lol the queen on “challenge” or god of war difficulty is harder than any bloodborne or dark souls boss. This shit is redonculous. Even on balanced she’s a fucking bitch
tehCostHD yeah but at these setting you just punish yourself. Would be like playing souls without estus and everything onehits you. That’s just not the point of these fights. And yes she’s a bitch but midir and gale are gruesome as well on ng+2/3
Mate can you imagine Kratos in a suit and tie sitting on a therapist chair? "You see i was a great General once! Then my god betrayed me and i killed my family.. But it was allright because i got those AWESOME blades!"
@@romeofernandez8608 nope. I've defeated manus first try on my second playthrough. The thing is that you can heal whenever you want, just wait for the perfect time
I think this is the first time in all of the God of War games that an enemy/enemies have made me actually cry, the Valkyries are the hardest characters I've have faced, like Zeus in GoW3 on the hardest difficulty didn't stress me out like they do
God of War 1. Hardest difficulty, part 2 of the final boss. Defending your family against yourself. Near impossible on God Mode. To this day, that is the hardest thing I've ever had to do in a game.
@@jam5287 nah, the valkyrie armor with the Valkyrie grips all maxed out is the ultimate valkyrie killer... Plus you don't get the Zeus armor until you beat Sigrun in ng+
Killed them all last night. Here's my wisdom to share; 1. Blades of Chaos are better than using the axe against them. 2. Ignore what she said about dodging the gold attacks. You wanna parry every chance you get to take the offensive and end the fight as soon as possible. Be careful about parrying the bladed feathers she throws, however, for while it deals decent damage, it takes several moments to complete the animation and they'll have plenty of time to VALHALLA you into dirt. 3. Locking on may help some people, but as a Soulsborne veteran, I was much more efficient controlling the camera manually. Just something to keep in mind, as it helps find escape routes and health crystals. 4. When they spin, always wait a moment after they finish before attacking to see if she VALHALLAS. If you attack too soon after blocking the spin attack, you'll be stuck in the animation and forced to taste her boot. 5. Have Atreus pelt her with arrows when she's flying in the air. 6. When performing her unblockable (red) attacks, always dodge towards her left flank (your right) unless she's doing her ground pound light explosions. In that case, always roll in a straight line away from her to get away as fast as possible, as this is instant death. 7. ALWAYS be ready for her charging thrust attack. There's very little telegraphing to the attack itself, but she usually strafes around a bit first. As long as you're always prepared to roll to the right at any given moment while she's on the ground, you'll be fine. 8. You can break through their wing shields if you use certain runic attacks.
In my opinion the axe is superior just because of the fact that you can immediately cancel every airborn attack by throwing it in its face when she's about to fly, opens her up for a nice runic every time.
I like the axe more than the blades (in this game ) because i can do insane combos But btw u can shut down the valkriyes with the boy bow But u cant do it in gmgow
Why not just use block break it breaks their wing sheilds and the axe is a better weapon for fighting the valkyries but if you are fighting certain valkyries then use the blades when they summon help the axe is close combat so it'll be a better one on one
Andrew Burton yeah pretty sure the arrows don’t work on higher difficulty to stun them, but if you’re locked on to them just do a quick axe toss and that will know them down, and give a a few second to go land some attacks
Works for me at a level 3 did you upgrade his son as well that how i was able to do so tho i gave up after i got my axx whooped 100 times love all of god of wars but this here the creator did his job i like as much as i hate they are the hardest to destroy i feel what this lady is saying even in previous games you had to be a certain level and i totally forgot thinking i could run through the game the creator of the game said AHT AHT NOT TODAY
I beat my first Valkyrie at level 4 but with good equipment, cause I did most of the side quests and upgraded my armor, one of the molten armors, as much as I could. Took me at least 50 tries, finally killed her with around 5 hp left. Man the satisfaction of beating a high level boss like the good old days.
@Kcsnipper77 the realms have specific armor sets for them, musphelheim has the molten armor its really good for early game and looks the best (in my opinion) but isn't really good for post game stuff
I was just finishing the quest where I get the stone to open the sealed gates and I come across a Valkyrie 😓 almost beat her like 4 out of the 10 times I attempted it, died twice cos I got distracted.
I would describe myself as a souls veteran, having played every souls game including bloodborne and sekiro, but Sigrun was an absolute nightmare. I died like 20 times to Isshin and maybe 25 times to midir, but I stopped counting when facing Sigrun. The windups for some of the unblockables are just insane. It took me hours to get the timing down. Never experienced that before. Nice fight and so satisfying when you got her for good.
I disagree on the revive stone. The rage one let's you get in damage and you can gain some health back through attacks in rage. That's just my opinion though.
If you get your son to light all the torches on top of each realms monument by saying the valkyrie's name, you get a rune that let's you take less damage from valkyries. I dont know how effective it is because I beat all of them before figuring this out. Took me forever hopefully this tip can help anyone still trying
So a lot of the torches you have to dock your boat on the spots closest to the monuments that the torches are perched on. You explore a little around these areas and you'll get the the torch eventually
Its not hard, you just have to perform flawlessly. The only one that gave me a hard time, killed them all after getting the chisel, was the one in alfheim. She's a bitch, and the queen, she is also a bitch.
@peter pan I’m sorry but if these things you’re claiming are true, I have no idea how tf you’re losing to them cause I’ve watched pretty bad players beat them on easy difficulty.
I've beat 4 Try're hard but here's my tips 1. Level up your runic for both Kratos & Atreus and use it! (I'd pick runic attacks with high damage and low cool downs and you can string both the light and heavy runic attacks back 2 back then the next time there's an opening switch to blades and do those back to back and if you have to shattered gaunlet use that too and the next opening) 2. Make sure you have a resurrection stone. (I prefer blue over purple stone) 3. Biggest One! Dodge and Perry to the RIGHT!!! Never dodge left or back always always always dodge or perry to the RIGHT!! 4. Atreus arrows can stop the Valkyies from going airbourne. But your timing his to be perfect. 5. They will chain moves back to back. When you learn their patterns dont get cocky they will chain moves and spam the same move back to back. 5.They're patterns will give you small openings for hits but if you over do it you'll take alot of damage. 6. Once you get the chizzle you can start fighting them but i'd wait till you get more health and better armour. 7. You will die chasing after healing stones and don't rely on Atreus finding you one! Use an opening or wait til you stun the valkyrie to step on a healing stone. A gamer probably doesn' have this issue but i did. Most of my deaths were from trying to get to or step on a healing stone. Let them accumulate all over the floor and when you near one during an opening(ex that small pause between the valkyries attacks) step on it and immediately attack or stun the Valkyrie step on it and either keep attacking or put up your shield 8. Last Best Balanced Armour imo is the Niflheim armour. Honest it's a little OP especially when each piece is up to level 8 and you have enchantments in all 3 sockets for each armour piece. Your gonna massacre all the Valkyries easily with this until you get to Sigrun. But if you want a challenge use a different armour. I'm not a gamer at all just sharing what i learned after getting my ass kicked a kagillion times
@@handsomesquidward5160 this is 3years old but several Valkarie attacks especially the wing attack is on the left hand side of Kratos. if you're dodging, rolling or parrying to the left, You're dodging right into several attacks. Especially when they start chaining attacks together or against Sigrun. rolling/dodging right for me made the Valkyries miss. But hey, If you're really good maybe you don't need to.
Step 1. Beat the game first. Step 2. Get Valkyrie's Bane, it's a MUST. Step 3. Max out your weapons, and the BOY. Step 4. Get the legendary armor set from Nifilheim! Step 5. Obtain the most powerful rune abilities you can get your sweaty hands on! Step 6. Start killing the lesser Valkyries! Step 7. Fight the Valkyrie Queen over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over (yell at your screen) and over and over and over and over and then FINALLY KILL HER!!! Final Step. Dance, and then wait for the DLC like the rest of us. Also.. I disagree with the 4th tip. I'd much rather be able to activate spartan's rage, do a good chunk of damage, regenerate health, and be able to pick up health stone that the boy finds for me, then regenerate a bit of health, only to lose it seconds later... Could be my play style though, so to each their own.
I agree with you on the 4th tip. You get the rage and if you have the skill all maxed out you'll be able to pick up a large boulder and throw it which deals ALOT of damage.
You need full health and rage + berserk resurrection stone to use 2 Spartan rages on them. Also Talisman that restore all the runic attacks immediately helps a lot. So in the end you’ll attack with rune magic 8 times and twice with Spartan rage + Atreus. No Valkyrie will stand that, except Sigrun mb.
The second valkyrie I fought was the one in Muspellheim. Took hours and several armor upgrades and total gear changes, but I finally did it, relying heavily on high runic damage and cooldown so I could spam runic attacks. Plus I fought her so much that I started to recognize her patterns and learn how to counteract them. That one move where she flies into the air and slams her weapon down was ridiculous, because not only did it do insane amounts of damage, it had ridiculous range to it. But I finally realized that she telegraphed the attack, and I was able to avoid it easily after that.
She was my first Valerie actually. Before I got blades of chaos too. Basically I learned the telegraph for her moves like you did, except I learned that her light slam attack is easy to counter with either arrows or axe throw. It knocks her out of thr air. Other than that, punish with runic attacks as much as possible.
I’ve killed 3 of them, I’ve noticed you should ONLY use your resurrection stone if they have only 2 or 3 health segments left, and don’t use the blades you’re going to wanna throw the axe and use Atreus as much as possible... and when they take flight into the air throw the axe as quick as possible... it makes them land and cancels there attacks out and also drops health, lastly the runic attacks i found reliable were Hels touch.. and the ground of knives you should take your time and learn all her attacks it helps to know what they’re going to do before they do it
Honestly I use the blades a lot more than the axe I find their combos much more effective I use the axe to stun them while I set up a blade combo on them. In the end it’s whatever your good at. Then again I’m also rank 8 with the best armor of the mist so maybe that helps as well....
I use that light rune axe attack that throws it and makes it spin on them then switch to blades and use it's rune attack while it's pinned and still taking damage from the axe. Huge damage right at the start of the fights.
What? Use your ressurection stone literally every time. If you die you'll just restart from the checkpoint with the stone equipped. Terrible advice lmao
the berseker stone is way more worth than superior stone, in berserk mode you heal and are invincible, with max rage you can throw 4 rocks (if have the skill for it) which does a good amount of damage that you could do twice if already have full rage going into the battle
MultiBOOMHEADSHOT yeah but valkyries will still hit you and damage your rage meter while raging. I even got "Valhalla" command grabbed by the queen during rage.
Shock arrows are your friend in case they don't get staggered. Getting "valhalla'd" during rage obviously sucks tho lol Plus, if they try to fly while you're raging, you can jump slam them out of the air with r1 and get a free combo in. Berserker stone is 100% worth imo.
For sure, locking on during rage helped too, but i fought and won against queen using the boar summon and slow down time talisman swapping between runic attacks and grabbing health on ground. She was fun but a very serious challenge. Finished the game, hands down GOTY 2018!
Hello Hi for the HP Regen and invincibility for a few hits. Pair it with shock arrows and atreus'e rune, and you can keep a Valkyrie mostly stunlocked while you get a good chunk of hp back.
Great video! Although I would recommend getting the Berserker's resurrection stone simply because: 1) Assuming you would enter the fight with full rage and full health, you get 2 bursts of Rage to hammer down on them; 2) Rage of Sparta not only damages but also refills your health. So, both the times you rage, you will refill your health almost completely You, therefore get 2 full bursts of rage and 2 nearly full bursts of health apart from the health stones placed around.
I’m fighting the Valkyries on “Give Me the God of War” I can’t even count how many times I died and wanted to break my controller. At least I’ve beat 3 of them.
I have beaten all 9 of the Valkyrie so I can add some more insight and tips onto this video. Some of these tips are helpful but you should always perfect parry the Golden circles if you can because It will stun then and leave them open for a nice few hit combo or use runic attack. But If you dodge you’ll miss the chance for free punish and if you miss the perfect parry shell push your shield to the side and get a free hit off of you. I found it best to be very aggressive with them at the right moments. Learn when you’ll be able to block, parry, dodge then punish. Many attacks the Valkyries do makes them take a few seconds to “reset” back to their normal fighting stance. For example the Valhalla scream. After the first, or third depending on which Valkyrie you’re fighting, they will take a few seconds to stand straight up. You can punish them and do a few hit combos stunning them in the process. I find it best to use your runic abilities at these moments to do the most damage. I personally threw my axes every time they went into the air at first. But I realized some Valkyrie have a Golden circle and not a red so be prepared for that. You can still knock them off the air with your axe or using Atreus, but depending on the circle you will sometimes lose the opportunity to punish them. The rest is learning the combo patterns and dodging/blocking appropriately. Some are extremely easy and other are extremely difficult. I was able to kill half of them on my first go but the other half needed 2,3,4 sometimes more that 10 tried to beat because I was doing silly mistakes that cost me. All of their combos are similar in a sense, they only have a few moves that are unique to them. Figure the unique moves that each have and when you get the basic moves that they all do down it’ll be easy pickings. By the time you reach the queen, you’ll know each and every punishable, blockable, and dodgable move that she has. Hope this helps, if you have any questions feel free to ask, I’m almost done with the whole game, I just need a few side quests and find some chests that I missed so I’m sure I can help you.
I think I was level 4 or five when I killed the first Valk. And my gear wasnt the best either. It took a lot of tries ar first but I was able to beat them by learning the moves that the Valk would do for me to punish accordingly. The mist armor sets made it a lot easier since you can take and do more damage depending on the runes you would put into the gear pieces. I used my Runic abilities very often, so naturally I buffed up my runic stats. overall I had the top 3 stat bars near maxed. Strength, Runic, and defense were my priorities, Runic being the most then strength then defense. I was decent at the game so I wasnt too worried about taking damage but those priorities would change for you depending on how you play. The runes you put on matter as well, I had runes that helped my cooldown so I can use my Abilities more, then I have other that give me invincibility if my health ever dropped really low. Or ones that will give me a health burst and strength if my health got low. A lot of the games combat is based off of your "build" as to what you want to do. Do you want to be more or a tank, or more of a mage, or just a brawler, or maybe you want to spam all your abilities as fast as you can etc... My playstyle personally was more of an all rounder type of way, to get the Runic, Strength and Defense to or near to max then building the rest how I would liked as for the Runes. Its fine if you dont have the best gear or the best runes, the drops are somewhat RNG based so not everyone will find the items in the same locations. The best thing to do is to learn the movesets of each Valk, which isnt that hard since they all share the same basic attacks with only one or two different moves to be aware of, and then learn to punish accordingly. I hope I was able to clear up some questions you had, I know I went off a little but still got the point across. good luck
Ayy dude. I almost got 100 percent on the game except for some side quests and the queen Valkyrie, got any tips for runic attacks or strats? I got the ivaldis armour already but shes a real pain in the ass.
Sher Lock Try learning their individual patterns. All valkyries tend to follow 3 basic steps; feather or projectile attacks which you should block with your shield, moves that blink red should be side-stepped or rolled and one special move ( e.g. “Valhalla” or Eir’s and Gondul’s blinding move.) Don’t rush them and try looking for better resources to improve your winning chance. Opening nornir chests for Idunn apples will help, so try watching videos on their location and how to open them. You got this!
Find some stronger armor or level up your current armor as much as you can. Don't forget to equip enchantments to your gear too. Going up one or 2 levels can make a big difference.
I'm finding it harder... Dark souls tended to let me at least rely on my fancy rolling. This is more like sekiro where the player can't just heavily rely on that one move... Nope. In this you gotta be pretty good at timing everything. Attacks. Blocks. Rolls. Stuns. Abilities. Roll butt poke roll butt poke roll butt poke isn't something that works most of the time in god of war 4 or sekiro...
Marcus Waugh yea I know but al enemies fight different so you need to learn how fast they attack and find out which moves you can parry and which ones you can’t. Once I get use to that after a couple of fights then it’ll be a breeze
Yeah, the learning the exact timing and what to block and what to dodge can stress one out. I haven't done any of the Valkyries yet, but I know I'm in for some a few cycles of death before I get them figured out. Checked out the video just to get a feel for it.
Chad Courtney As far as the ones in Midgard go, I beat 3/4 on the give me a challenge setting. The first 3 aren’t too bad, with their attacks easily distinguishing which need to be dodged and which need to be parried. Their arenas are also a fairly decent size to maneuver. However, the one located in the Mountains fucking sucked. Her arena is so tiny and her non-parry/blockable attacks are, from my experience, unavoidable. Then again, I’m only lvl 5 as well. The key is to just counter off their misses and parries. Runic attacks are also great because virtually all of them interrupt/stun the valks. Save spartan for when you’re low, and use berserker stone so that if you die when she is low, you rage n kill her quick
RayCiddy I'm level 4 but I stumbled into fighting the valkyries and managed to beat my first one like after 50 or so attempts lol and now it's not even possible to even fight the second one I'm on wtf
Spent 2.5 hrs last night beating my first valkyrie at level 4. I don't think I've ever been so mad at a game. I would always get killed when I needed a few more hits to beat her. Very challenging for a impatient person Haha
Other unspoken/obvious tips: Use runic attacks as much as possible. Switch between weapons depending on which one has a tunic charged. Melee or Line runic attacks are probably best. Use spartan rage when low on health. Don’t use ranged attacks. Don’t try and kill one until you beat the main story and have all realms unlocked. Mist armor is considered by many to be best so buy some of that. Try and beat Musphelheim trials first. Light all of the fires on top of the towers. Doing this will reward you with a special enchantment that will lower the amount of damage valkyries deal.
The Amulet of Kvasir+ is actually amazing for defeating valkyries. Its the best counter to the "Valhalla slam" as you can just dodge it and when the time is slowed you can do 2 heavy BOC (blades of chaos) hits. For the blinding attack just do a quick turn and you wont be affected. And you can block break the counter they have where they put their wings ahead of them, (you can use a runic attack too). hope these 3 help some of yall.
What I found is to have high runic and swarm the Valkyrie. I reduce distance and slow down time and don't let the Valkyrie breathe at all. Close distance and keep the right grounded. Typically when you start the fight, you can unleash all 4 runic attacks. Just stay away from long animation ones.
Good job dude! I feel your almost to be rage lmao. I had to change my difficulty to give me a story but i still couldnt beat it yesterday. Maybe ill be lucky this time🤣.
I have the wrath of flame pommel on my axe and it does a lot of damage. I have high luck so the low activation perk happens a lot of time , so during my attacks I get frost + flame together
3:10 I would actually recommend the Berserker's Res Stone since you heal when dealing damage with Spartan Rage. You can get a large chunk of health back while taking a fair chunk off the valkyrie
more tips: - get ready for your best combo once you break that wings shield by double-tapping L1! - you can also alter flying attacks by throwing axe at them before they strike
Even knowing the patterns, the time window for some moves escapes can be so narrow there might as well not be time windows at all. For instance, being able to avoid most of Gondul attacks but getting always stomped by her jump because you don't come from a thousand year old dynasty of ninjas can cost you your controller or your tv
One of my biggest and probably the strangest one is; During the spartan rage, do not fully attack against sigrun Her damage during attacks will drain your rage like nothing, try avoiding some if you really want to give her damage and gain health.
Personally I used runic attacks with high stun and low cool down for the queen. Try using Wrath of Artemis and Gift of Apollo on your blades, and Hel's Touch and River of Knives for your axe
I beat the first one quite easily at lv 4, the one in the "Mason’s Channel". Patience is key tho. This one does three attacks. 1. Lunge at you from the ground. 2. Lunge at you from the air. 3. The winged spin attack and deadly thrust move at the end. The first move can easily be parried. After you parried her, you can hit her around 4 times. Roll away and wait for her next move. When she's in the air, throw you axe at her. She'll fall to the floor and will be briefly stunned. So run towards her and hit her as hard as you can. (Atreus's arrows did not stun her for some reason.) For the third and final move I suggest to Dodge out of the way and just wait on her next move. If you're to far away from her, she will choose to do the lunge attacks. So keep baiting these two moves. If you still struggle wear armor with extra strength and defence and use runes which will help you in the battle. Like the one that gives you a barrier or the one that gives you health regen. Runes that help you build up strength and defence will be handy as well. Happy hunting. ✌🏻
A good tip for facing the queen is to equip a ruins that is activated when the health drops to critical some of them can increase defense and some of them can increase the health and strength also make sure that your rage is full cause it will help you gain health when you’re about to die
My few tips on Sigrun are this: The PRIMARY way to defeat her, is LEARNING her attack patterns. Know when she pounces, know what attacks are blockable and what aren't. She is absolutely hard, but it's because she's such a well designed boss. Learn your openings, learn her patterns, and DON'T get greedy, the second you get cocky she'll hand you your ass. 1. Obviously, max out your stuff. I did the Sigrun fight after completing both Mupelheim and Niflheim and upgrading the Ivaldi armor to max. I also ran legendary equipment and legendary sockets in all categories. By the end of it my character level was 9. 2. My strategy focused quite a bit on health regen, Ivaldi's armor gives some, I had some sockets that gave more. I had the Aegir's Protection Talisman fully upgraded which let me create a healing zone. I used Gift of Apollo on my blades and paired it with Rampage of the Furies which means when I activate Gift of Apollo first, each hit from that RoF light attack heals me. 3. Some have recommended using the rage resurrection stone, but I actually used the superior one (rez with more health as opposed to full rage). Sigrun really makes it hard to consistently hit her constantly while in rage. Starting with more health and regenerating it with the previous tip seemed to work with me. 4. This one is the most important. When she kicked my ass enough times, I set the controller down and did something else. I found each time I came back and fought her I was better at the fight.
Just spent 3+ hours trying to defeat one Valkyrie. After that I can safely say I never want to play this game again, unless I feel like crying. That was awful
I just love how everyone is excited about these fights. Really glad to see that the souls formula started to appeal to a broader audience. And to all those complaining that you have to learn their patterns, let’s reawaken an old and wise saying used in the souls community since 2009: git gud. (Ok kms but tbh that’s the appeal these bosses have. You learn to master them and that’s the beauty in these fights just like with almost every souls boss)
SkyZgone never played Souls or bloodbourne but I think I might try it out because of this. Are the fight mechanics as good and badass as the ones in GoW? I think that's what makes it most enjoyable for me
well the mechanics are even better in my opinion because especially in ds3 and bloodborne they feel more spot on than in GoW. For me in GoW it sometimes felt like i was not dodging properly because even though kratos evaded the hit i saw the texture actually hitting me (especially with the trolls and their stones). In souls, when you get hit, you get hit, there is no mercy on the games side. but id say its less badass because the finishers in GoW are supposed to make you feel powerful, yet in souls you arent supposed to feel overpowered so no in badassery gow tops souls but thats just not what these games go for. souls is about a fair environment, you arent someone special you are one out of many humans who happens to be doing special tasks. you dont accomplish anything in souls because youre special but because you achieve certain things you become special. so id say: fighting is better in souls but its less spectacular.
TheBlazersfan22 and for the red, same thing. When I tried to dodge the rings they threw it would just follow me as soon as I dodged so I just dodge like .1 sec after she throws them
VG Courage if she throws three rings, you block. They're unavoidable otherwise. If she throws one, dodge it, or you take a ton of damage. Attacks that have the yellow circle are blockable/parryable. Red circle attacks cannot be blocked.
How to kill Valkyries Step 1- Don't challenge them Step 2- If you have already challenged one then RUN! Step 3 - If you cannot run then your fate is sealed (time to say good bye)

@@mavinreyurbano187 Parry is when you block just before you get hit and cause a stun on the enemy. Useful on most of the enemies in the game besides dodging of course
The valkyries should not be your end game objective. I’m playing on give me god of war dofficulty and beat two of them at level 5. Kara was super hard because she summons enemies but it’s doable. Why get their equipment when you have nothing of the game left to play?
My tips: Try fighting them in the endgame, you will have the best equipment Using the faster evade enchantment is very helpful Evade and parry a lot Be mentally prepared for the valkyrie queen, use easy difficulty
I finally bought the game last week and I found a valkyrie after getting the chisel. Everything was going well....... until I walked up to it. Then it was a masterclass in getting my ass handed to me over and over until I finally gave up. I'll be back after Ievel up you winged beast from hell and then I'll show whose the boss, until I'll just walk away with my head down as one tear rolls down my cheek..... cue somber music.
Right as i got the chisel i went 2 go beat it mind u i am only level 5 it got so annoying until finally I beat it and then realized that i had alot more 2 go
From armor point of view. Go to midgard and activate all valkiria names on Towers. When you do that you will get a stone wich reduces valkiria damages by 5%
I love this game I remember for sigrun I maxed all runic attacks I used, maxed my armor, maxed talisman, maxed weapons, bought all skills, everything training and gearing up was fun the fight was fun as hell and I beat her in about 5 tries like I said I love this game
My resurrection stones don't work after the "Valhalla" grab. Right when I revive, the screen goes black like I died; this happens regardless of when I press square. Mashing it immediately doesn't help
Payton McIntosh If you have your neck snapped, you can’t respawn. It’s the only time your ressurection stone won’t work. Instead try rolling (X,X) to avoid this move ( when they scream valhalla just roll a few times)
Sigrun is so easy to predict the attack you might die most is the stab attack which is unblockable when she shifts to her right she will do a spinning wing attack so if u see her shift to her right just block and stand still and when she shifts to her left dodge immediately when she gets close. After that you just have to attack and dodge every attack
How to beat valkyries: 1.) Superior resurrection stones 2.) Before she attacks, use all axe runics with atreus runic, then use blades runics 3.) Pattern recognition, this one might be hard, but once you've died enough, the moves are easier to dodge and block, you start to understand the movement of the valkyrie 4.) Whenever you can, go all in, patience is a tactic to beating them, but greater dps makes them easier to take down 5.) Max our your runics, better damage and stun is very useful 6.) Keep calm, only anger will mess up your gameplay, you become less annoyed of the game, it makes it more enjoyable than raging 7.) Make sure you're equipment has at least a bonus to it, such as regeneration a small amount of health over time, or a gift of strength, anything that can give you an advantage to you 8.) Know when to dodge, if you're low on health, play it safe, not dangerous
I only had trouble with 2 of them. Don't go after them if they are purple health bar. Just don't. Other then that. Good defense. Knowing when to block. Using the boy. And yes. Always have a berserker stone on hand. Singrun was the hardest for me absolutely.
I have never been stomped on and told “unworthy” more times in my life before.
LMAO😂
I know right usually you have to pay them first.
You’ve never met my wife!
implying that you actually have been stomped on and have been told you're unworthy. just... not as much
I've been slammed on the ground 13000+ times
"VALHALLA!"

That would Ultra Rage mode then 😂😂😂😂

Lol right

tehCostHD its not, u trippin, almost every bloodborne boss is harder
Kratos to his therapist: I don’t want to die fighting.
Therapist: why, you will go to Valhalla.

I think this is the first time in all of the God of War games that an enemy/enemies have made me actually cry, the Valkyries are the hardest characters I've have faced, like Zeus in GoW3 on the hardest difficulty didn't stress me out like they do

Killed them all last night. Here's my wisdom to share;
9.Always dodge to the right side
In my opinion the axe is superior just because of the fact that you can immediately cancel every airborn attack by throwing it in its face when she's about to fly, opens her up for a nice runic every time.
I like the axe more than the blades (in this game ) because i can do insane combos
But btw u can shut down the valkriyes with the boy bow
But u cant do it in gmgow
Why not just use block break it breaks their wing sheilds and the axe is a better weapon for fighting the valkyries but if you are fighting certain valkyries then use the blades when they summon help the axe is close combat so it'll be a better one on one
Ima blood borne veteran too and it definitely helps having the experience.
The sound effect and the graphic on this game are flawless.
I still love the feeling when we recall the axe.
Valkyrie: “VALHALLA!” Me: Nah I’m out bro.
Lmao same here I just quit defeating her
Valkyrie: Flies into the air
Me: Spams arrows at her
Valkyrie: Doesn't go down
I've been lied to
Andrew Burton yeah pretty sure the arrows don’t work on higher difficulty to stun them, but if you’re locked on to them just do a quick axe toss and that will know them down, and give a a few second to go land some attacks
It doesn't work on give my challenge or give me god of war mode my friend. You have to throw the axe when she's on the air
@Fernando Reimpell Bravo You're just bad homie
You can throw your axe, arrows don't work 100% of the time, Axe do...
I beat one of them at level 3, took me about 50 tries tho lol
Money seeker same here, later I just block and parry and let artreus do the job
Same. Shit was frustrating af
I hate the 1 that spawns adds smh
Me too 😂😂
onij2127 lol that bitch was easy but the adds kept on hitting me from behind it was so dumb 😭😂
I beat my first Valkyrie at level 4 but with good equipment, cause I did most of the side quests and upgraded my armor, one of the molten armors, as much as I could. Took me at least 50 tries, finally killed her with around 5 hp left. Man the satisfaction of beating a high level boss like the good old days.
the only reason i’m doing this is for that feeling
@Kcsnipper77 the realms have specific armor sets for them, musphelheim has the molten armor its really good for early game and looks the best (in my opinion) but isn't really good for post game stuff
And then you find out there are more of them
I was just finishing the quest where I get the stone to open the sealed gates and I come across a Valkyrie 😓 almost beat her like 4 out of the 10 times I attempted it, died twice cos I got distracted.
Defeating Sigrun was the most satisfying and hyped victory I've had in any video game
I've had difficulty with the one in realm of lava
Try Final Fantasy 7 🙌
I would describe myself as a souls veteran, having played every souls game including bloodborne and sekiro, but Sigrun was an absolute nightmare. I died like 20 times to Isshin and maybe 25 times to midir, but I stopped counting when facing Sigrun. The windups for some of the unblockables are just insane. It took me hours to get the timing down. Never experienced that before. Nice fight and so satisfying when you got her for good.
Now think about Thor in Ragnorak
sigrun was pretty fun, i died a bunch but it was from me being clumsy then i got serious and decimated her barely taking any damage
I disagree on the revive stone. The rage one let's you get in damage and you can gain some health back through attacks in rage. That's just my opinion though.
I can confirm. I defeated sigrun with the beserk stone. Had her down to

If you get your son to light all the torches on top of each realms monument by saying the valkyrie's name, you get a rune that let's you take less damage from valkyries. I dont know how effective it is because I beat all of them before figuring this out. Took me forever hopefully this tip can help anyone still trying
I got to torches to light but I can't figure out how to get up there.
Wait how do you do this exactly?
So a lot of the torches you have to dock your boat on the spots closest to the monuments that the torches are perched on. You explore a little around these areas and you'll get the the torch eventually
Hmmmm okay. What's the rune called?

Hey, and did it work? Or did you get murdered in seconds?
It’s called changing ur settings to “give me a story”
I’ve played both and some Valkyries in easy mode aren’t that easy.
I did that but still failed. That’s why I came here. I suck
@peter pan Or maybe you just fucking suck lmfao
@peter pan Bruh alright. Also maybe you beat the story easily because you’re on easy mode??
@peter pan I’m sorry but if these things you’re claiming are true, I have no idea how tf you’re losing to them cause I’ve watched pretty bad players beat them on easy difficulty.
I've beat 4 Try're hard but here's my tips
1. Level up your runic for both Kratos & Atreus and use it! (I'd pick runic attacks with high damage and low cool downs and you can string both the light and heavy runic attacks back 2 back then the next time there's an opening switch to blades and do those back to back and if you have to shattered gaunlet use that too and the next opening)
2. Make sure you have a resurrection stone. (I prefer blue over purple stone)
Let them accumulate all over the floor and when you near one during an opening(ex that small pause between the valkyries attacks) step on it and immediately attack or stun the Valkyrie step on it and either keep attacking or put up your shield
Why dodge only to the right?
@@handsomesquidward5160 this is 3years old but several Valkarie attacks especially the wing attack is on the left hand side of Kratos. if you're dodging, rolling or parrying to the left, You're dodging right into several attacks. Especially when they start chaining attacks together or against Sigrun. rolling/dodging right for me made the Valkyries miss. But hey, If you're really good maybe you don't need to.
A big salute to you man👍👏👏
I use deadly mist niflheim armour how about u
Max out THE BOY 🤣🤣🤣
Your 7th tip was hilarious 😂😂
Tip 7 was right on point! Currently on Valkyrie #4 though 😭😭
Agreed. Rage mode was literally made for fighting Valkyries.
VALHALLA!!!
Never has a screaming annoyed me this much. That is why it feels so good to finally rip their wings off.
Full health? I bet I can beat her wi to put taking any damage I don’t need fuel rage for the fight I destroy her like in 15 seconds

When you want to go to heaven but Valkyrie said: *VALHALLA*
I’ve killed 3 of them, I’ve noticed you should ONLY use your resurrection stone if they have only 2 or 3 health segments left, and don’t use the blades you’re going to wanna throw the axe and use Atreus as much as possible... and when they take flight into the air throw the axe as quick as possible... it makes them land and cancels there attacks out and also drops health, lastly the runic attacks i found reliable were Hels touch.. and the ground of knives you should take your time and learn all her attacks it helps to know what they’re going to do before they do it
Random Hairline dude... totally on point
Honestly I use the blades a lot more than the axe I find their combos much more effective I use the axe to stun them while I set up a blade combo on them. In the end it’s whatever your good at. Then again I’m also rank 8 with the best armor of the mist so maybe that helps as well....
I use my blades more than I do my axe and I think it made the fights easier.
Getting "valhalla'd" during rage obviously sucks tho lol
Plus, if they try to fly while you're raging, you can jump slam them out of the air with r1 and get a free combo in.
YUP..I ONLY use berserker stone
Great video! Although I would recommend getting the Berserker's resurrection stone simply because:
1) Assuming you would enter the fight with full rage and full health, you get 2 bursts of Rage to hammer down on them;
2) Rage of Sparta not only damages but also refills your health. So, both the times you rage, you will refill your health almost completely
You, therefore get 2 full bursts of rage and 2 nearly full bursts of health apart from the health stones placed around.
"Your favorite offspring atreus."
Kratos dead daughter: "you just had to say it didnt you"
Honestly love them. They challenge of beating them is so exciting, frustrating and rewarding
I’m fighting the Valkyries on “Give Me the God of War”
I can’t even count how many times I died and wanted to break my controller.
At least I’ve beat 3 of them.
So did you beat them?
i almost killed the one in freya's house being lvl 5ish
Using your ace stuns them longer.
What level where you and what armor did you have cuz I'm level 5 and don't have any of the mist armor sets and the valks are a challenge for me still
I think I was level 4 or five when I killed the first Valk. I hope I was able to clear up some questions you had, I know I went off a little but still got the point across.
good luck
A True Goat if u finished the whole game. Shit is hard. I give you props mahhh guyy💯
Ayy dude. I almost got 100 percent on the game except for some side quests and the queen Valkyrie, got any tips for runic attacks or strats? I got the ivaldis armour already but shes a real pain in the ass.
I killed the first one. But can’t do any of the others. They are too hard and I’m playing on easy 😂

They're meant for endgame. I'm level 8 and have very high stats. They were a lot easier to beat.
This is basically God of War but with Dark Souls difficulty
I'm finding it harder... Dark souls tended to let me at least rely on my fancy rolling. This is more like sekiro where the player can't just heavily rely on that one move... Nope. In this you gotta be pretty good at timing everything. Attacks. Blocks. Rolls. Stuns. Abilities. Roll butt poke roll butt poke roll butt poke isn't something that works most of the time in god of war 4 or sekiro...

What difficulty did you play this on. I have my difficulty on “give me a challenge” and I have a feeling these fights are gonna stress me out
RayCiddy learn how parry and block lol

Other unspoken/obvious tips:
Use runic attacks as much as possible.
I wish you luck in beating them and when you feel like giving up,remember the ancient wisdom:Git Gud.
Tbh it only took me 10-12 min each except for the the queen she took me 2 days
The Amulet of Kvasir+ is actually amazing for defeating valkyries. Its the best counter to the "Valhalla slam" as you can just dodge it and when the time is slowed you can do 2 heavy BOC (blades of chaos) hits. For the blinding attack just do a quick turn and you wont be affected. And you can block break the counter they have where they put their wings ahead of them, (you can use a runic attack too). hope these 3 help some of yall.
I already beat them all, but I both love and hate you for telling me about the quick turn.... I just used atreus to interrupt Sigrun.
@mattbarker1411 I only found about the quick turn by accident lol.
yeah, patience is key unless you're in the mist. so stupid
Then use ivaldi's armor
Never has there been an enemy that had me say "dis bish" ever so much
Use Hel's Touch frequently
What I found is to have high runic and swarm the Valkyrie. I reduce distance and slow down time and don't let the Valkyrie breathe at all. Close distance and keep the right grounded. Typically when you start the fight, you can unleash all 4 runic attacks. Just stay away from long animation ones.
The first 8 valkyries were super easy, But sigrun is a pain in my f*ckin ass
The best game of all time only if he could jump 😳😳😳
TuffGuy Rio jumping not a problem fr fr just learn how to roll bro
Yep I thought the same I was hoping he had those wings or something to catch some air
Shwokes Envy I mean to jump on and off stuff not in combat
TuffGuy Rio ohhhh hell yea I ageee on that like omfg lol
That is a big NO NO, do you know why? because deep down it ain't a challenging game. a fing character who cannot jump! ♫♪♫♪
Guys I just beat the queen on give me God of war, I was legit about to smash up my whole room
Consider the projectile deflect perk for extra damage during the ranged attacks.
more tips:
- get ready for your best combo once you break that wings shield by double-tapping L1!
One of my biggest and probably the strangest one is;
During the spartan rage, do not fully attack against sigrun
Her damage during attacks will drain your rage like nothing, try avoiding some if you really want to give her damage and gain health.
Last time felt emotional was fighting Sagat in Street Fighter Turbo. This takes it to another level
5:24 this is the happiest memory of the brain. I play it everytime we get sad
(Atreus's arrows did not stun her for some reason.)
For the third and final move I suggest to Dodge out of the way and just wait on her next move. ✌🏻
Elmer Fudge I’m level 4 and I feel they made this game to difficult imo. I’ve died 10 times already.
so you don't have to be in level 6?
A good tip for facing the queen is to equip a ruins that is activated when the health drops to critical some of them can increase defense and some of them can increase the health and strength also make sure that your rage is full cause it will help you gain health when you’re about to die
That changes nothing
My few tips on Sigrun are this:
The PRIMARY way to defeat her, is LEARNING her attack patterns.
Thank you very much that's really good to know
Nobody:
Kratos: *puts heads in his pockets that he somehow has*
Come on, it's the same pocket i' every video games 😂😂
That feeling when you roll into a wall and they nab with their third “Valhalla!” ...
I can feel the pain cuz I have suffered many times
Took me over 2 hours to defeat the queen. Absolutly solid boss fight.
same. Worth it.
I beat the entire game and now I’m finding out you can lock onto enemies
I think that's what makes it most enjoyable for me
IMO this games combat feels identical to Witcher 3, souls games are a little clunkier
well ds1 and 2 might, ds3 and bb are on point.
well the mechanics are even better in my opinion because especially in ds3 and bloodborne they feel more spot on than in GoW.
Richard Martinez play Bloodborne if you liked the Valkyrie fights. You'll thank me. And don't give up
I just beat all 9 of them yesterday the gold/Yellow i see better to counter than to dodge if it red always dodge
when do you counter it . when you see the yellow . or a .5 of a sec after you see the yellow. i never know when to click.
TheBlazersfan22 you should always dodge as soon as they finish the first motion
TheBlazersfan22 and for the red, same thing. When I tried to dodge the rings they threw it would just follow me as soon as I dodged so I just dodge like .1 sec after she throws them
VG Courage if she throws three rings, you block. They're unavoidable otherwise. If she throws one, dodge it, or you take a ton of damage.
Attacks that have the yellow circle are blockable/parryable.
Red circle attacks cannot be blocked.
TheBlazersfan22 To parry it you press it right before the attack actually hits you, not when you first see yellow
Thanks. This video was so helpful. Killed my first valkyrie in 4 tries
How to kill Valkyries
Step 1- Don't challenge them
Step 2- If you have already challenged one then RUN!
Step 3 - If you cannot run then your fate is sealed (time to say good bye)

I found that parrying the gold attacks and spamming attack as well as a good amount of dodging does me just fine. Queen is a bit different though
Spamming attack she literally flies backwards on the begging
Just defeated my 3rd Valkyrie! The one in Nifelheim. That was a tricky one. But only took me just under 2 hours.
Don’t disappoint me 4 hours? Come prepared
yellow scythe attacks are parriable, Sigrun does not shout vahalla.
Buy you can hear N see the flames coming down so you know when to move out the way
What is parry ?
@@mavinreyurbano187 Parry is when you block just before you get hit and cause a stun on the enemy. Useful on most of the enemies in the game besides dodging of course
They're the toughest in the game IMO. I managed to beat two of them, didn't bother fighting the others before finishing the game!! 😐
This game is one I don't listen to music with and I have both earbuds or headphone sides on because I don't want to miss anything😭😭
The valkyries should not be your end game objective. I’m playing on give me god of war dofficulty and beat two of them at level 5. Kara was super hard because she summons enemies but it’s doable. Why get their equipment when you have nothing of the game left to play?
My tips:
Try fighting them in the endgame, you will have the best equipment
Using the faster evade enchantment is very helpful
Evade and parry a lot
Be mentally prepared for the valkyrie queen, use easy difficulty
I'm gonna ignore the last tip just cuz I beat the Queen on the hardest difficulty in New game+
It was EEEZZZZ
@@davidthefakeog6155 sUrE lol. (And yes i do get this is prob a joke)
whats the point if u beat it on easy
@@baige76 What's the point of playing a game when you can't play it on any difficulty you want
@@dominikkuzila well u cetainly can, but I prefer a challenge
I finally bought the game last week and I found a valkyrie after getting the chisel.
Everything was going well....... until I walked up to it. Then it was a masterclass in getting my ass handed to me over and over until I finally gave up.
I'll be back after Ievel up you winged beast from hell and then I'll show whose the boss, until I'll just walk away with my head down as one tear rolls down my cheek..... cue somber music.
Right as i got the chisel i went 2 go beat it mind u i am only level 5 it got so annoying until finally I beat it and then realized that i had alot more 2 go
@@Redhood878 salute my fellow gamer!!
@@paulcoleman292 thank you my fellow gamer edit: i am stuck on the second valkyrie lol
From armor point of view. Go to midgard and activate all valkiria names on Towers. When you do that you will get a stone wich reduces valkiria damages by 5%
Been playing GOW for a while and always skipping those valkyries but those tips actually work
I love this game I remember for sigrun I maxed all runic attacks I used, maxed my armor, maxed talisman, maxed weapons, bought all skills, everything training and gearing up was fun the fight was fun as hell and I beat her in about 5 tries like I said I love this game
Ho-ly shit. I cannot beat this thing for my life.
BlackDragon actually, it was a glitch that they fixed in the new patch
Payton McIntosh Huh. I never actually got killed by the move but saw many youtubers die by it. I guess it was a glitch. Thanks for clearing it up!
If the Valkyries give virgin kratos so much trouble. He will be destroyed by Thor.
So frustrating lol I thought I was good at this game till finding my 1st 1 lol
You don’t. Delete the game after completing story
Damm im playing this game for the 3rd time still getting ass-kicked by them.
How to beat valkyries:
1.) Superior resurrection stones
2.) Before she attacks, use all axe runics with atreus runic, then use blades runics
3.) Pattern recognition, this one might be hard, but once you've died enough, the moves are easier to dodge and block, you start to understand the movement of the valkyrie
4.) Whenever you can, go all in, patience is a tactic to beating them, but greater dps makes them easier to take down
5.) Max our your runics, better damage and stun is very useful
6.) Keep calm, only anger will mess up your gameplay, you become less annoyed of the game, it makes it more enjoyable than raging
7.) Make sure you're equipment has at least a bonus to it, such as regeneration a small amount of health over time, or a gift of strength, anything that can give you an advantage to you
8.) Know when to dodge, if you're low on health, play it safe, not dangerous
I only had trouble with 2 of them. Don't go after them if they are purple health bar. Just don't. Other then that. Good defense. Knowing when to block. Using the boy. And yes. Always have a berserker stone on hand. Singrun was the hardest for me absolutely.
