"I’m just happy to push carve and grind and if I can flow and go… because really the best part of skateboarding is like you’ve got some vibration through your feet, some air on your face (cruising, right, yeah), you decided what you’re riding, where you’re at, who you’re with and what you’re gonna do with it"
did that totally resonate with anyone else?

Hot press epoxy is brittle like glass. With every pop it cracks, eventually your pop is dead. Where as cold press glue stays flexible. With every pop it flex’s.

Its hot pressed before the epoxy beeing poured! Also, nowadays very few brands use epoxy or even the traditional graphics screen printed!Theres a reason why the 80´s boards were so hard to breack, and now you just need to stomp them right in the midle!Theres no brand or company that want to sell a product that will last a life time!!!Thats bad for the business ;) Most American Brands are made in China!!!Santa Cruz and Powell are the very few that still arent!!!
And what he said in America is cold press and China Hot pressed,is totally BS!!! There are American brands beeing produce in China under the same exact MO,if they did it Cold, cold it would be!Im a Rider,Team Manager,Product Developer and Graphic Designer for Brands over in the US and Europe!

I want to get one of Andy's boards, they are so sick.... Just the fact that you can street skate and freestyle on the same board is right up my alley. Especially w/ that special grip tape he made to fit the board... That makes it an awesome tool to learn and I really want to try it out. I would do the fingernail trick or I'd use a rock to mark specific areas on my friends boards to teach them stuff so the fact that he does it and he designed this board makes me really want one.... that cant work, contact cement bonds "on contact" so it would bond before it is placed in the mold, plus contact cement isn't really structurally very strong, nor waterproof , or heat resistant.

But if I made a springy thing like a bow I'd cold press with a softer glue and cure it for a few weeks or more. So yeah he's quite right.. from a laminate wood perspective

Sorry but he’s so full of sh*t PS Stix boards have been terrible for well over a decade. I used to ride them all the time back in the og girl/chocolate days, and later Habitat. But since then his boards have dropped significantly in quality. You never knew what would turn up if you ordered one online. It would either be so steep you could barely stand on it or it would be completely flat with more “fingers of flat” than kick. And let’s not forget his weird thing of drilling his mounting holes bigger than other brands for no clear reason. I know of at least two brands that switched to BBS from PS Stix because the boards were so inconsistent in press and quality. Also he seems to have forgotten that all the New Deal reissues are made in china.
