Glad my videos help somewhat promote my idols. Greg Howe has been around since the 80s. He has 9 solo albums, 2 more fusion albums with Richie Kotzen, 1 with his band Maragold, 2 with his band Howe 2, one with Victor Wooten and Dennis Chambers, 2 studio and 1 live with Japanese bassist Tetsuo Sakurai and 1 with keyboard player Vitalij Kuprij (RIP). 19 full albums recorded, plus guest solos on countless other. There is a a lot of material to explore if you like him.
Greg is so awesome... I've followed him since 1988. He can play anything, any style on an electric... such a precision, fluidity, clear tone...and he obviously feels passion for what he plays... He surprised me so much when he played neoclassical and prog rock with the late Vitalij Kuprij...He adapted so perfectly... even though he said it was not what he preferred to play. I thought I'd never see him live but I was lucky enough to be able to see him twice in Paris and in the north of Paris in 2008 and 2018, I was even to exchange a few words with him. He's so humble... This man is not famous and he should be * very* famous, really. He can compose great jazz rock, and hard rock tracks. I guess he's at least very famous among guitar players ? Not even sure. Nevermind, I'm glad he goes on... I wish he'd release much more albums.. Maybe i'll be able to see hmi again in the fall... and with Stu Hamm that would be fantastic.
Hearing Greg's music for the first time almost felt like nostalgia even though I had never heard it. That's how powerful it was. My favorite musician and a great dude.
Greg's shirt is the same one he's wearing in Five Steps to the Sun, great shirt. Killer guitar, rhythm section fantastic. It may seem like I'm stalking Greg, but, call mer!
I kinda feel like an idiot right now because I heard of Greg Howe for years now but never realized just how do good he is till now. It started years ago when Greg came on the scene and he played that "Lowrider* song. Well I never liked copy songs so I put Greg on the back burner figuring he's just another damn guitar player. Well turns out I was wrong, Greg is way up there in the technical level. I don't like comparing other players because it's like comparing apples to oranges. But it's up there in the ranks with Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson, etc. Well I like listening to great guitarists so I am going to make up for lost time by listening to some more Greg Howe
Everyone gets older bro, I don’t think he can play at the same level he could in the 90s and 2000s but he can still smoke most guys on any given night.
Its so amazing to hear greg pick out these tunes so many years later after listening to them ten billion times and wearing out my cassette tape.
Takes me back to the good old days of my favourite album of Greg , Introspection… the best in my opinion… amazing to see him play this song live 👏🤘🍻
I've always been aware of Greg and actually saw a clinic at a guitar store, but I haven't heard that record yet. Bout to put it on now. Thanks Brotha!
Amazing guitarist. Very under-rated. Greg seems capable of playing anything!
"Underrated", you mean... as in "probably the biggest jazz fusion influence on guitar players of the last 20 years" ?
@@DHTokyo3915 He probably means "not very famous", which is true.
people idolizing guthrie govan, max ostro and matteus but greg is an old school master, he eats their lunch
Govan is only 8 years younger, so i think he is already an old school master…. People dont even realize what music is about.
Allan Holdsworth, Frank Gambale, Scott Henderson and Andy Timmons, these are old school legends among the others
Tony Macalpine is better
@@Renekorlol..better?..nope..as good?..indeed

Cannot believe I just discovered this insane talent.

Thank You for posting! Greg, Stu, and Joel rule. Greg for president 2024 😁
I know of Greg from seeing him in Simon Phillips’ band. Dude’s a monster player, and yes, he should be better known!

best cover
What do you mean with "best cover" ? He wrote and recorded that song back in 1993.

Unfortunately I never visited Greg Howe show…
Greg is a master and very very influential
Everyone is now days coping him.!
He is the boss
Along side Shawn Lane and Allan Holdsworth
Does anyone know what that red amp is that he is using?
Always a top notch player!!! What amp is that?
If I am not mistaken it is a DV Mark. He is endorsed by that company. But it is not his signature model (Maragold amp).
Anyone knows what amp head is that one?
Am I only who hear so many mistakes and missed notes from Greg? He is amazing guitarist but here he is not in his best shape.
