I get that its a joke but i must comment about this, that is the linear rail, the reference surface is on the SIDE only, not the top, and when he installs the brass plugs to prevent pickup and contamination, he is making it flush to the top so no swarf or chips gets stuck on it.
I wonder how much this thing costs. What would be the charge rate per hour billed to the customer from the company that buys this thing? A basic 5 axis machine I know of is at a rate of about $150/hr, but this DMG Mori beast would be insane. 0_0
Not sure how much the machining centre cost alone but there is a company in Sweden that have one and they invested 6.5M euro in total (roughly with current exchange rate) for machine, 40ton overhead crane, enlargment of buildings etc.
I am a applications engineer for WFL they were just polishing the ways to remove the protective layer they apply during transit no actual sanding takes place on the ways guides or tracks it was just a cloth pad on the sander

It is German blood, German Deckel Maho Gildemeister AG, and they are pioneers in the innovation of the main cnc milling machines for the medical field, and they worked with Mori Seiki in 2009 to expand the market in the Asian region. And the product is still based on German products from deckel maho products rather than Mori, which is my personal view. In my opinion in the field of German fabrication and CNC machining robots have more strength and precision.
@@whatthehell6340 if the former Gildemeister company were so innovative and successful, why was it sold to a far smaller japanese company ? Just ridiculous. Maybe because this japanese company has technology superior to the german one.
You can not know about patents and the world of business and technology, and you never sell their brands to Japanese companies, they only work like Nokia - Siemens and Sony - Ericsson first. Selling means the name will not be used again if it is in front of Mori. You have to know that all the software and motion control technology as well as servo motors are the result of developing technology from the west without Japan not having a technology blueprint as soon as you know it. So Japanese maniacs also have to be professional, don't have to insist.
@@whatthehell6340 as i said, the far smaller company of japanese mori bought the Gildemeister company, which had twice the size of mori, for what reason ? That does not make any sense. The most likely explaination is, that the Gildemeister management knew, that their technology will not have a chance against the superior technolgy of the japanese machine tool companies in the along run, because we all know, japanese companies dominate in many high-tech sectors, so the management simply quit the game, hoping to profit from the japanese expertise in the future by being taken over.
Simply amazing! What a video that records the whole process of installation!
This is a great video. I always want to see how big of this machine was. It so great thank you DMG.
will install this unit sooner :)

No mostly run dry
Every time I see one of those huge parts, I imagine how much it would suck to get to the end only to find out one of the dimensions was out of spec.
What is the app price of this machine?
i have DMU50 (small 5axis), someday i want to have it.

What did the worker do with the belt sander on the linear guide?
