Funny how this particular piece of racism worked out for us....by husband though who was white did get hooked... fortunately he went to rehab before he got too bad.
I've lost over 30 family members, friends and ppl I've battled side by side with due to opioid addiction since 2001. And addiction does NOT discriminate against any type of skin color. Addiction definitely doesn't give two shits if ya just flew in from Jupiter. The pharmaceutical companies and the doctor's and even out government are monsters for allowing this catastrophe to go on and on and on as so many millions of lost souls left this world... why?!? Greed. Greedy soulless monsters made a war amongst many future generations. It's not just a crisis we will have to try and mend for addicts to find suboclinics or methadone clinics and now therapy for mental illness and depression with a system that is non existent in the U.S.A. to help with focusing on sobriety day by day. What about all of our children and loved ones that have had to suffer and now they too have more issues due to lack of any type of programs to help them understand what the actual reality is instead of being themselves at 7 yrs old or 11 yrs old and just repeating the same cycle. My heart breaks cause I want us all to come together and try at least to help that one man or little girl but when did we all become so divided. Maybe I'm naive yes but I'll take naive every day instead of just being hopeless.
An addiction epidemic and a viral pandemic are two different animals entirely. Well into the 1950s polio was ravaging the world. Then Jonas Salk developed the first inactivated polio vaccine and the rate of polio-induced paralysis dropped from 5,000 cases out of 1,000,000 to 3 cases out of 1,000,000. 3! Medical research is a GOOD thing. That a vaccine has been developed so quickly is a GREAT thing. It means fewer people had to die before modern medicine was able to help slow things down. When the polio vaccine was finally made available parents lined up to have their children inoculated. Why? Because they wanted their children to LIVE. If everyone would do their part and protect their fellow citizens by being vaccinated we could beat this thing so much faster. I have a weakened immune system and I don't want to get sick, but I want even less to cause someone else to become sick. That's why I'm vaccinated and will continue to wear a mask - the mask isn't to protect the wearer, it's to protect everyone they come into contact with - and it's why everyone else should be too.

Nah, that would be ridiculous and we're definitely living in the rational timeline, my news anchor of choice told me so.
"We're going to cure the world of it's pain" - the climactic punchline of this trailer, atop the subtext "how America got hooked on a lie". And now? "Honest" pharmaceutical companies making tens of billions from the pandemic, with ironclad legal indemnity. "Honest" government. "Honest" media. Wake up people. The props and front characters change; the story remains the same.
More people passed away from opioid overdose last year than all American service men and women during the entire Vietnam war. It's getting worse, upwards of 100,000 total deaths are due to all drug overdose as of last year alone. We are all losing this war watching our friends and family members die or ruin their lives or those lives around them. I truly hope this film sheds light on the policy changes that are currently combating the pharmaceutical companies responsible for bribing doctors all across the nation to push opioids to their patients. Giving doctors financial incentives to push drugs to their patients turns going to see the doctor into a life-or-death situation.
Blaming a drug company for overdoses is similar to blaming gun companies for shootings until you ingest it it's just a little white pill. The problem isn't necessarily the drugs, it's the addicted personality. It's the inability of your brain to correctly identify risk. Most grandparents and elderly people rely on pain meds just to enjoy the company of their families or simply go for a walk. No problems there. The problem is in your under developed brain.
A few years ago I went to an emergency room w/ a broken arm. They gave me a cast & sent me home w/ a bucket of oxy. I used 2 pills & burned the rest in my fire pit.
Good looking movie to watch by myself if it where on a different service but I watch Disney plus to entertain my family and children and don't appreciate the breakdown in it being a family oriented service
Anyone who is suffering from this addiction please try to get help. Any kind. Rehab. Meetings. Whatever works to keep you clean. There is no magic formula. Twelve steps are great. But this isnt a one size fits all kind of deal. It took me 3 trips to rehab. Being thrown in jail. Eating out of dumpsters. Today I am 1 year and one month and three days clean from a decade long intravenous drug addiction. It is possible to come back. You can do this. You can come back.
this trailer is 1000 times better than that stupid Gucci movie trailer where it's just people in wigs announcing "we're Guccis!" over and over in shitty accents
It's not just Sackler. It's our healthcare system that is based on profit. When essential services are based on profit, people die. Period. Another sad reality is that because of the overdose epidemic it's more difficult for patients who legitimately need opioids to obtain them, and a new hysteria surrounds painkillers.
How can make entertainment about the reality of corporations destroying people for profit when they continue to this day doing exactly that? Doesn't sound at all entertaining to me.

But they did! And They Got Schnookered TOO!
@@paulmartin2499 not really. This is a disproportionate white American issue.
@@denisemiller5401 i’m not reading that but okay girl.
Damnnnnn this cast is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
been bingeing all of will poulter's stuff the past few days and i'm absolutely ecstatic that i stumbled across this. looks incredible!!
Sameeeeee oml i can't wait to watch!
Did you enjoy Wild bill?
@@Nydusurmainus adored it !! such a gem
Problem: pain
“Solution “: Drug
Side effects: death
Me: are you crazy?
Pharmacist: is that rhetorical?
He still looks 14 years old though
He does, doesn't he?
People keep telling me to trust doctors, pharma companies, and the government while true stories like this exist....
@@terra__incognita no matter the situation when money and power are involved it’s a recipe for corruption and lies. Btw it’s extremely odd for an account that was created in 12/19 and only has one comment ever made from it , be a long rambling diatribe about this pandemic and medical ethics. 🤡 no liked videos or other comments …. Something doesn’t add up 🤔
@@tinman5496 I genuinely have no idea what you're talking about as I have liked numerous videos and have made many other comments. However, I will absolutely agree with your first sentence: money and/or power do routinely corrupt.
Gee, I wonder if money, power, or both could make people reject common sense? . . . Nah, that would be ridiculous and we're definitely living in the rational timeline, my news anchor of choice told me so.
A movie about big pharma being unscrupulous about a drug that makes them wealthy? Big surprise there. 🤣
Four of my favorite actors in one production. Can't wait for this one.
Remember Michael Keaton in "Clean and Sober?" - Now he's pushing Oxy's in this movie! - Such a GREAT Actor!
Thank god i live in Australia
It’s here, but on a smaller scale.
After seeing Last Week Tonight w/ John Oliver's episode last night about the Sackler family, this is a great follow-up.
And now because of this many doctors are afraid to give their patients certain drugs against pain.
Will Poulter 🖤
And people call vaccine hesitancy crazy.
God they really will turn everything in a Hollywood movie with a suspenseful score 😂
“You guys are getting PAIN?”
And yet here we are in 2021 and doctors still prescribe oxy. It's really sad.
I don't think the Sacklers will be buying tickets.
"I'm Batman" - Michael Keaton
"It's SHOWTIME!" - BeetleJuice aka Michael Keaton
but the Jab a Jab a ding dong is safe and Effective 😂
And yall trust the big pharma that the vaxx are safe and we should all take them? 😂😂
Awww, Will Poulter has gotten so big☺
once upon a time justice would be stoning them in the street, i wonder what those responsible actually got instead
Billions
SId, Sid is that you all grown up?
Correction: How White America Got Hooked on a Lie
Jonathan from Buffy the Vampire Slayer is developing this show.
You have zero clue wtf you are talking about
Looks good, but it kinda seems like there's gonna be way too much going on.
Less than 1%?!? The lies
Imagine pharmaceutical companies lying about the safety of their products.
okay but why did they have to make it look like a terrible lifetime movie 😂😂
MY MAN BOUTA WIN HIM AN EMMY. IM WAITING.
A few years ago I went to an emergency room w/ a broken arm. They gave me a cast & sent me home w/ a bucket of oxy. I used 2 pills & burned the rest in my fire pit.
And yet, ya'll are still gonna take their waxxines.
I was like wait is that Peter Sarsgaard? Oh well this is gonna be good
Good looking movie to watch by myself if it where on a different service but I watch Disney plus to entertain my family and children and don't appreciate the breakdown in it being a family oriented service
Capitalism in USA
Powerful
Remember boys and girls...this was FDA approved.
i used to see will on kids tv when he was like 8 i am glad to see he is doing great in his already long career
How America got hooked by ANOTHER lie, should be the tag line=)
They didn't even go to prison. Fucking absolutely disgusting.
All movies: corporations, business = bad bad bad. Are there any pro business, corporation movies?
Could this apply to a more current situation and how much trust we should place in big pharma ?
Yeah I'm surprised they're even allowed to make this film. Probly cuz nothing will ever be done about it
and nothing will change.
Sacklers all got off the hook no problem, what John Oliver's recent bit on them
Kaitlyn Dever as Loretta McCreedy 2.0. I like.
May God rebuke those who manufactured and peddled this scourge.
Vulture, Adam Warlock and Claire Temple Movie
this trailer is 1000 times better than that stupid Gucci movie trailer where it's just people in wigs announcing "we're Guccis!" over and over in shitty accents
The friendly ship definitely include because cocoa conclusively prevent till a next connection. swift, wasteful plane
Yes. They so need to talk about this side of fucked-up America.
How can make entertainment about the reality of corporations destroying people for profit when they continue to this day doing exactly that? Doesn't sound at all entertaining to me.
One more thing, do me a favor. Don't go chasing waterfalls.
welcome to my life in ky during the 2007-2008 time area
lol., yeah right justice served, only in movie
Lol oxy is like our phones... They made them too good at their job 😂 so we get addicted
Keaton, now we're talking. this looks so much better than that 9/11 movie that hes in
But for reals...Covid vaccine is totally safe.
I dont need to see this movie, others do. I survived this movie irl... many, many others cannot say the same. Go see this movie.
Will Poulter looks like the neighbor kid from Toy Story.
Too bad the only people who go to jail are the ones that get addicted to that shit. In this country companies just pay fines.
I did 6 month rehab stay because of this shit years ago. This stuff is no joke.
Nobody did anything about it. Until you put them against a wall nothing will change.
Great they did a movie about it but really didn't do anything about the pharmacy
Just about to stick two M80s in my ears 👂👂 who's with me?
