One of the best songs that was ever written....played on a loop, over and over for decades now......close my eyes, and I’m me, anywhere in time..thanks Tim.
This song was my intro to Split Enz. Heard it for the first time in 1986 as a piano major in college, and it hit like a truck. That combination of simplistic musical rawness and lyrical sophistication was a dichotomy that I fell in love with instantly. 🤘🏾
Sounds like a mixture of an early rough draft of the I Hope I Never tune with something from Hunky Dory in places. The cover is kind of cool too. It's like a Maori version of the first Talk Talk album cover.
ok I'm a bit biased because a Split Enz album was one of the first things I ever bought, and I much later joined the fan club....but even after all that....this is one of my favs....perhaps after "I hope I never".....the ending is almost ....anthemic queen like....i wonder if there england stay produced this?
So many Enz records with Tim singing somehow mix his voice horribly. The original mix of Stuff And Nonsense is criminally poor. The remix is much better. But this songs gets the true power of that voice.

In my top 10 songs of all time. Utterly fabulous.
you can't truly appreciate this song until you've fallen asleep to it every night for a couple years.
Had this on vinyl when I was in tech training for the military. One of my absolute favorite albums.
Superb , the enz seemed to keep there best work hidden away.
Gosh Tim could write a song!
One of Tim Finn's best compositions
I'm American, but I have to agree with you jimlisi1. Fantastic artists- Split Enz.
Never got the recognition they deserved. No accounting for taste 😂

fucking brilliant
Possibly the best Enz song ever. There are about 4 other candidates. At least 2 of which are Luton's. So yeah. It's narrow.
Agree totally with this comment. Absolutely awesome track!!
Awesoms song
Oh, and thanks so much for uploading it.
Neil Finn as guitar hero!
bruh megalovania at the start
is this earlier version different than the one that appears on the 2006 reissue remaster of Frenzy?
Yes. This version was self-produced and released as the B-side of the “Things” single. I much prefer this version.
Very Roxy Music
Read up on the Christopher Foster case - very errie parallels with this song
Unbelievable. Thx for suggesting.
