    The moment when Russia said: "Buckle down, it's time to defend the homeland or die trying."

      Well you have to remember that right before that along with Germany they have occupied Poland. It was started by a similiar to today's (look up for February 24, 2022 Invasion of Ukraine) special operation. Stalin and Hitler have started the war.

    I hate the people in this comment section that slate the Soviet Union and say that Russia owes its existence to America, they owe nothing, they gave everything. The people of the Soviet Union and of all the countries that come under her banner fought for years at the expense of 60 million souls. Our gratitude to those people's know no bound, proudly from Great Britain, thank you

      @James Henderson they were doing it to survive more than anything. Stalin knew that the Soviet Union was not ready to fight them and we would have done the same in their shoes

    • @mrme247

      @James Henderson they would have made alternative arrangements and they would have been able to then focus entirely on Britain without the thought of a second front meaning invasion

      @James Henderson
      So glad the UK signed the Anglo-German naval agreement, allowing the Kriegsmarine to become a headache and the death of hundreds of Royal Navy and Merchant Marine sailors. And Romanian oil was far more abundant than Soviet oil ever was for the Axis war effort.
      Without the Munich Diktat the Axis would not have had the industry to start WW2, and probably lost a significant number of men attacking Czechoslovakia. Before the Soviets signed an agreement with Germany, they tried in vain to form an Anti-Nazi Pact that UK and France ignored. The industrial heartlands of the Czech section of Czechoslovakia fueled the German war machine far more than Poland ever did, especially since it was earlier, and by the time the Soviets intervened in Poland's demise, the war was virtually lost for Poland.
      www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/russia/3223834/Stalin-planned-to-send-a-million-troops-to-stop-Hitler-if-Britain-and-France-agreed-pact.html
      The UK and France had numerous opportunity to shut down Nazi Germany before a European war erupted, and they squandered it.

      @James Henderson Hitler very much intended to invade Britain right after France went down, invasion of Russia was just an unspecifeid plan at that point. He only ordered real preparations for the invasion of Russia in October 1940, after the nazis had lost the Battler of Britain.
      But yeah, I see you are a nazi lover. People like you are traitors to Britain.

    • @bipDeus
      @bipDeus 4 роки тому +3

      @James Henderson The preparations of Barbarossa were ordered in october 1940 Hitler's Weisung Nr. 21. In July the OKW was thinking about the Sealion and the conquest of Great Britain.
      What you call "helping destroy communism" is participating in a barbaric invasion in which the millions of innocent civilians were slaughtered off by the Germans in a genocide of unprecedented scale. Do you think, the UK should really have taken part in it?

      vol khorov maybe cause of the western supplement? Britian and the US was supporting the Soviets with massive amounts of vehicles, tanks, aircraft, weapons and even food. Over 20% of all soviets war-trucks were American made.
      Btw the allies weren’t just watching, they fought from Africa to Italy and the Germans had to occupy the west and defend it, letting 2,000,000 axis troops away from attacking the soviets.
