So, this is a testament to Cals ego. He doesn’t want anyone to believe that he was washed up at UK. Trust me when I tell you this, Cal had a great run at KY but that run ended 9 year ago. He stayed at UK because of the brand that afforded him the opportunity to build the reputation he has built. Think about this. The man has been horrific over the past 9 years. He hasn’t been able to win with some of the best talent in the entire NCAA. He didn’t “help make families rich” these stars could have gone to University of Grand Canyon and they’d been 1st round picks. The team became a stop over for NBA players and they get the privilege of saying they played for the bluest of the blue bloods. This is Cal blowing up his ego. That’s all it is. He still believes he is doing this all by himself. If it weren’t for him they’d never make it to the NBA
