It’s absolutely IMPOSSIBLE not to love Coach Pope 💙. He knows Kentucky, he knows what the tradition truly means to BBN. I wish him much luck and I can’t wait to see him in action. GO CATS!!!
What I love the most about Mark Pope is that he is a great coach with excellent strategies that will elevate us to the next level. I am eagerly anticipating the Pope administration. I agree that John Calipari is a great recruiter, but in the long term it is good coaching that truly makes a difference. Mark Pope possesses all the qualities of a great coach. While his players may not be as highly ranked as John Calipari's players, he has been able to achieve success even with lower-caliber players.

Technically not homegrown but he's one of us. He's gonna do just fine once he has some success and is able to get better players in here. We've just got to give him time and space to operate like we all know he knows how. I couldn't be more ready to have players that wanna be here because they love the school and the fans instead of this just being a 4 month farm system for the nba or g league. Also ready to have a coach who knows how to coach and make adjustments instead of being so ego driven that they refuse to make any adjustments and just screaming "run" or "go" or "hold it slow it down". I'm so sick of hearing that bums voice screaming total bs during games. Glad he's gone and couldn't be more happier that his bs time is done and gone
You’re dreaming.. some players maybe, but in the NIL era, it is not ever going to be solely about the name on the jersey. The select few in state players, probably. But your transfers that we are gonna pull in from BYU, Illinois state, etc are coming here for the recognition and the NIL money. We want to fantasize about every player that a coach recruits caring about that name as much as the fan base, but reality is that they care, just usually not in the same way that we do as life long fans of Kentucky
With that being said, I will still love each player that comes here and support them and consider them a part of the big blue family

I'm so glad Pope got the job. I'll have to say I wasn't that happy at first, but now I wouldn't trade him for anyone else. we need to support him 100%.

This man is so unqualified for the job it blows my mind he was offered the gig plus 5 million a year. Mitch Barnhart needs to be fired. The man would have taken a million a year. He needs to stop talking about the moment and talk about who the hell he’s going to recruit and what to do to win. Our two transfers are from Drexel and byu….no top contending teams. The false positivity is real for this fan base bc they know they fked up wishing for Calipari to leave. Be careful what you wish for

@@zzremington first off our teams have been stacked recruiting wise for 14 out of the last 15 years, say goodbye to that. I understand the disappointment of four early exits, I was right there with you (don’t forget about 2020 season where we were the number 1 overall seed and it was cancelled bc of Covid). This year we had a guy make 8 threes in the first half of our first game in March, well guarded shots mind i say, we were playing catch up the whole game, sorry but blaming cal for that loss is hilarious if anything blame the players not playing well or just being outshined by a guy who made 13 threes…. Also you do realize we just hired in a guy that has no resume, has not won a game in March the two years he’s had the chance, and you are trying to tell me that’s a proper replacement for The head coach job at the university of Kentucky?? How does this hire make sense other than the fact he’s a Kentucky fan and old player…yay! Talk about what you are going to do to win and prove yourself. Also we offered him 5 million dollars when all we had to do was offer him 2 mil max a year?
Until mark pope proves he has what it takes you should not be excited as a Kentucky fan. This coach change has put us back in the Stone Age. Enjoy watching Arkansas next year kick the crap out of us lol. False positivity is alive and well.

We couldn't be more happy he's gone. Doesn't matter if you have a whole team of nba players when the coach has no idea how to coach or use them and misused them at best. His ego and lack of basketball knowledge in the 2020s is literally a shame. The guy has done less with more than any other coach in history. Plus refusing to make adjustments or change to the players you have is a sure sign that the guy has no clue how to coach. All he did for the last 7 or 8 years on the sideline was scream "run, go or slow down". That's not coaching. Pope is gonna do just fine because he's an actual coach and not just a talker. Why don't u follow that bum to RKansas? Seems like your line of thinking fits right in with that bullshitter
