Getting the metal seal back on was the hardest part. Took me a while to figure out that it had to bend to snap onto the circular frame. Thanks for the tutorial.
Glad this helped. 🤘🏻
Great guide! Brighter lights for better night time riding and safety. Thanks
Great video and it truly made my night riding much safer.
Nice Mitch...thanks for the info!
thanks for putting this up. the link in your description is currently out of stock so ordered a 3K LM bulb instead. thinking people should be able to see that.
Thanks man! This made it so easy to do!
thanks everyone of these bikes seems to have a different style light some multi leds some a bulb led like yours I ordered a x52v x class I'll have to wait to see what actually it comes with I subbed thanks
Hi there. Thanks so much for this tutorial.
@gnx18 no problem, let me know if there's other things that would be helpful
@@electricslide I'm wondering why the stock bulb only lights up half the LEDs and if there's any risk of flipping the bulb so it lights up fully?
@@chimnibff the stock bulb only has a low beam. Which is why I upgraded. And by reversing the new bulb is creating your own high beam switch which sends voltage to both sides. No issues as there is built in reducers in the headlight line.
Thanks for the info. You really should get yourself a camera stand before you break something.
Hahah I know right. Got some mounts on the way to help for future videos haha
Thank you very much for this lighting mod. I am getting a 52 volt X class.
Do you think this bulb will work on the 52 volt version?
I thought the low beam and high beam would be controlled on the display screen or by a stock switch?...or does the mod render the stock low/high switching defunct?
I am also prepared to attempt to put a stock Sur-ron headlight (which is 12 volt) on my new X52, by implementing a buck converter to step down the supplied (will test with volt meter) 52v to the 12v that the Sur-ron headlight requires.
Any thoughts, comments would be appreciated.
The X class light is just a simple on off there is no dual toggle for hi-low which is why you have to reverse the light to bypass the one way volt system on the bulb to activate both hi/low. I haven't had experience with the 52v bikes but from the looks of it it's the same. The only issue might be the bulb you need to buy being able to support possibly 52v coming through as mine had 48v when tested. And for the sur-ron light as long as you have the reducer inplace you should be OK.
Where did you get the buld and have you had any problems?
What's the voltage on that bulb for the low to high beam? Because there is a chance to mess the controller up if the voltage needed is not right.
Output to the bulb is 48v per volt meter , bulb can support up to 48v and will work off as little as 12v
I just got my 52v X class. Ordered the recommended light bulb and didn’t have to make any adjustments. It went right in. Took it out and it’s much much brighter then what came with the bike. I’m not sure why AR skimmed on the most important parts. The display could have been better also.
Agree the headlight could have been upgraded for little money. The display however would also require a more $$$ control unit. So I get that part to keep the price down, color screens are nice but doesn't make my riding experience any different. When you compare the price vs a S73 or others in the same category its a no Brainer imop. Congrats on the 52v ! Hope u enjoy it as much as I enjoy my 48v, unfortunately the 52v hadn't released yet when I ordered mine. Might get another though 🤔
@@electricslide i have several ebikes and want the old school style. After I bought It I was having buyers remorse because I know I don’t need another one. It is fun and going a little faster is ok. I won’t buy another Ebike though. I’m done.
the bulb you link to isnt available, is there an equivalent?
Quick question I bought this bulb for my 48V X-Class after watching your video it looks like you remove the fatter tap Is that what you did or have you shaved the sides of the fatter tap or bent it and what would be the best way to either bent it or shave the sides or remove it?
Used a small file to shave the larger tap down. So it would fit.
@@electricslide ok thanks will do on shaving the sides down with a small metal file
can you update the link, this one is no longer for sell ok, please
I just ordered my Ariel 52v x class
Thanks for watching. And u won't regret the ariel rider. Such a great Bike
Any reason why this bulb lights up and then quickly shuts off on my x-class? Did you have this issue with any of the other bulbs you tried? When it happens, it turns off my entire lighting system and I need to fully shut down the bike to reset it.
I actually had that issue with the bulb it came with and it turned out to be a controller issue and AR replaced it under warranty for me and never had the issue again. Not 100% sure that's what your experiencing but sounds like what I had.
@@electricslide Crap. AR is saying that it isn't under warranty because of me modifying. A controller isn't all that expensive, but still... I'm gonna see what I can do, I bought lower powered bulbs.
@@MarkStudent wow that's pretty hard to believe that they would consider changing a light bulb a modification, I have dealt with AR on multiple occasions and have never had a issue they have been extremely willing to help. Do you have other modifications besides changing the bulb?
@@electricslide No. I'm actually gonna call them today, I feel like something got lost in translation.
@@electricslide having the Exact same problem. Anyone find a solution.
Light Voltage:DC 12~24V. If the bike output is 48 volts it may not last long.
If you get rid of the stock battery the speed controller can take a 52v battery. I have in a parallel a 52v and 48v battery. The light last hours and i still get around 40miles of range
Where is the headlight button?
Can you advise me where I can get this head light on an e bike?
Are you only looking for the bulb? The actual headlight came with the bike? Let me know happy to help advise
@@electricslide I have an e bike and I would like such a headlight

Dude, get a tri pod
How do you turn on the head lights
Press and hold the + Button
@@electricslide thanks
Doesn't Ariel Rider void the warranty over stuff like this?
Not in my experience with them. Their support is 80% why I chose them over others in the first place. But I also don't make the official call on it as at the end of the day it's up to them but over changing a light bulb, No would be my answer
Be carful i fried my controller with a low powered led and it took months to get another
Thanks for the comment , and as always I advise everyone to be cautious when doing modifications. However I have been running this headlight upgrade for over 2 years now and have had no issues at all, although I will say I did just upgrade my control unit and added a key switch as well as a new headlight/tail light switch that will ultimately support a 72v upgrade coming soon. Be on the watch for the video on my controller upgrade and full twist throttle with Key switch upgrades. Cheers and thanks for watching my videos.
Thank you for replying it wasn't a pleasant experience with ariel rider . I simplying installed a a led upgrade after extensive research and lost all my lights . I have some knowledge of electric components as a rc enthusiasts I will continue to watch your utube thank you sharing mike
@user-pr3kb2re3n in my experience with them I had that issue when I first got the bike and they replaced the controller which was the problem and their customer service for me was a great experience as I had another issue with the motor very soon after making a grind noise. Both times they overnight shipped both and covered my shipping to return the default items. I also got some neighbors to get a few of these bikes and they had controller issues too. When they were shipped the new controller it looks like they upgraded it as the old one I think was a known problem. Thanks again for the watch and comments.
@@electricslide I love my 52v x class. I bought the first batch out it took 4 months to receive it I have 7000 miles now with no other issues
Lol ALEXA STOP
Bulb is no longer avail.
Let me know if u need other options. I have a few that are just as good
