- The compressor style divewatch was very popular in the 1960's. In recent years it got a revival from brands like Longines, JLC and Christopher Ward. One very interesting take on the compressor-style diver is the Alpina Seastrong Heritage.

It's nice to hear a reviewer that is not turned off by the date placement. Watch enthusiasts can be so finicky. I think if they had their way all watches would look the same lol.
They'd have literally every watch ever made be a rolex sub and have the logo be rolex's logo
Agree on the styling, pricing an lume you mentioned...a good value prop at lower than RRP. Thanks for the share.
Bold date placement
Sweet alternative to a Longines legend diver and not giving up quality
Yes, and the Alpina has shorter and more curved lugs. I love the Longines but the long and flat lugs turns from that watch.
Best regards,
Anders
Very nice review, I like the watch. You have some very nice timepieces 👍
The mesh fits perfect!!
Did you have to curve the spring bars on the mesh bracelet?
Did the mesh bracelet scratch the case? I noticed the rubber bracelet has a slight bend.
I like the date placement, would look better on a white dial & would much prefer all divers not to have a date as for me it's a pointless complication that's only really needed once per day.
Nice watch, tho I'd go for the Chris Ward myself.
Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Well I have designed this beautiful dive watch, but oops I forgot the date complication. Guess I'll just put it anywhere lol
Strangely the 1967 model has it at 3 o'clock.
what brand mesh bracelet did you buy?
Where can I buy mesh bracelet.
Thank you in advance.
Really need o explore Alpina more, they have some great pieces. The date placement on this one is a deal-breaker for me though... yuk
What was the brand of mesh strap you applied to this watch?
Hi John. It’s called Vollmer.

Thanks a lot. I really enjoy your videos and strait forward opinions. Keep up the good work!!
@@johnsweklo3213 Thanks John.
perfect
The Christopher Ward is actually a legit compressor, not just compressor style.
nice
The mesh is killer, the lume is disappointing, they should have lit up that inner bezel and the hour markers... It's a dive watch with no utility as such with the lack of lume. Was thinking about getting this but I'll pass. Love my Alpiner 4 Auto though.
Hi! I saw your video well. Can I know your wrist size??
Hi. It’s 18cm
@@TimeAndCrown thx for the reply :)
Was the designer drunk when he placed the date there? Looks like the date location was chosen by throwing darts blindfolded.
There are no reports from Alpina Watches suggesting any use of alchohol or precision sports when designing this watch. So the answer to your question is no.
@@TimeAndCrown. Too bad a least then there would be an excuse...
@@derekshearer9049 Well, the market decides if it’s a good choice or not. Clearly the company decided the market would like the choice thus many watches sold.
@@TimeAndCrown. How many did they sell?
Bitching about date placement and no complaint about how difficult it is to find 21mm straps?
2:46 Why do you say "just" a Selita movement? There's no need to be patronizing.
You seem like a very touchy person if that offends you.
Longines Legend Diver copy :(
Both Longines and Alpina released their compressor divers in the 1960’s so it can’t be a “copy”.
