Dude, feel proud, because Japan is the reason we have the Cheap Trick that we have today!!! They were facing becoming broke as a band, no big future, out of money.... then they played Live at the Budokon, which literally resurrected the band!!

I will admit, I thought Bun E. was the King of the whole wide world for ages & didn't wanna accept anyone new anymore, since the original CT got back together in the late 80s..
but this particular show he fits like one of Buns old gloves. Well done young man!! I would like to believe that Brad was so much a part of the family they couldn't replace him with anyone other than blood.👍

A friend bought us In Color around that time. I did not understand what power pop was then. But I immediately took to that album. Also, they were the first concert without my mother, and the first show I was old enough to drive to. This was September 4, 1978 at Kiel Opera House in St. Louis. The show included UFO, Cheap Trick, and Savoy Brown. I've been going to Cheap Trick shows ever since--last year most recently. I'm 61 now. Time passes quickly. Robin still has his voice which is quite amazing.

Time sure does fly by my first Cheap Trick concert was in 1979 at the old international amphitheater in Chicago. They played three nights in July. I can’t even remember who the opening act was but Cheap Trick was awesome that’s cool that you got to see UFO with cheap trick UFO is one of my favorite bands. Also I seen them five times, unfortunately I didn’t get to see Michael Shanker with him.

This was maybe 20 years ago, maybe longer than that. The old couple turned out to be Bun E's parents. His mom jumped a row of chairs and hung out with us for the last half of the show. And thank you for that wonderful compliment.
It really burns me to continue to read comment-after-comment, with the same, ridiculous message that Cheap Trick has now become a shadow of its former self due to a band member's departure.
Notwithstanding Bun E Carlos was an excellent drummer with a unique style; but Daxx has brought his own level of greatness to the "skins".
Further, I venture to say that many couldn't even differentiate between the two had they not had the "visual".
They should be thankful that Cheap Trick continues on making their brand of magic!
And having their sons perform with them, is a testament to the talents of the "chips-off-the-old-blocks" !

How about being thankful that Rick is still able to physically hold down a very taxin performance at his tender age?
Have you even thought what it takes for anyone to be able to do what Rick Nielsen does?
Of course you haven't ~ instead you sit in your oversized armchair thinking of disparaging comments to make concerning an accomplished Virtuoso, a genius by the name of Rick Nielsen! ❤
