Glad you picked up a Canteen and made it your own, TrailTrekker. You may want to check out the trial by fire HighCarbonSteel Love put us through making char cloth.

I haven't uploaded a follow-up review vid but I can say that after using this canteen it's definitely my favorite now. I appreciate the comments and the great products...keep'em coming! Also, thank you for suggesting HighCarbonSteel Love's review...it seems we think along the same lines. Maybe we'll see this product with a detachable strap...that would be super useful.

+TrailTrekker - Looking forward to seeing a follow-up vid and hearing more about the canteen in action.

I have one of these for my bug out bag. I also want to do more testing to see how durable it is. I used a bolt cutter to cut metal snaps that held the straps on, but I left the attachment points on the side of the canteen. I did not like those making noise, and they would hang up in my canteen pouch. Instead of using a paracord strap, I made a small one out of snare wire. I just fed it through were the clips were attached. My canteen is now ready to use by the fire. Just one caution with this canteen. The gaskets for the lid can come off. Just make sure they are in place when transporting water. I like my canteen so far. Also, I have to do more tests to mine. I am thinking about a freeze test as I live in a cold climate.
